Nexus 5X Fast Charge - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

nexus 5x charge rate becomes so slow when it reaches 90-100% its like 300mah maximum rate, is there a way to make it at least 500-1000mah maximum rate?

The closer to 100% it gets it gets slower its normal behavior

It's so it does not damage the battery.

It's like when you're pumping gas at the gas station. Notice how the gas comes out fast when on E but as soon as it gets close to full it comes out slow.

How long does it take for your LTE Nexus to fully charge (on AC, not USB)?

I know there are a lot of battery threads out there, but I can't seem to find any that deal specifically with the issue I have and it's got me worried.
I understand that USB charging is slow no matter what, and there's already a thread about that, but even when I plug the device into the wall (AC charging), it takes at least 3 1/2 hours to charge from zero. I timed it last night, and in a matter of 20 minutes the battery went from 73% to 77%. This was with 3G on and the screen turned off. If I actually use the device while charging, it may jump 1 or 2% in 15 minutes.
So, my question is does anyone else have this issue, or do I have a bad battery/device?

Not sure what's wrong with yours maybe your using a charger other than what came with the phone. Mine charges from zero to 100 in a little over a hour. Feels like faster than that lol I was actually amazed how fast this thing charges.

But hey it drains just as fast it charges for me

Def charges faster than my s2!!

Ya, charges from 30% to 100% in about 2 hours. Dies ~5 hrs when I actually use mobile data.

Hmm. Def. something up, then. It takes for freakin' ever to charge even sitting idle the whole time. I'm going to drain it again today and let it charge again and time it with the stopwatch app on my tablet.
I also ordered the extended battery from vzw for $25. Hopefully that will help.

Working on battery stats atm over at RootzWiki. Far from complete.

@ 1 amp mine charges about 1% a minute if I'm not using it. If I'm listening to music it goes to 1.5 mins a percent. With the screen on and actively using it takes about 2-4 mins a percent.

Im still using the standard battery and with my phone on a full charge from ~10% takes 1.5-2 hours on the other hand with the phone off its 0-100% in about an hour...
GSM here. 1 Hour charge from 0 to 100 on average.

[Q] Anyone has hot issue while charging?

My Note 2 feels pretty warm while charging, even when I turned it off, it was still warm.
Anyone has similar issue?
It's perfectly normal to get warm while charging.
Filling up 3100 mAh takes power man.
The hot part is near the camera not the battery and even when i turned it off, is it ok?
Odd. Mine doesn't get hot while charging. And I live in a tropical country at that.

It's 2Ah battery charger, twice as powerful as normal phones 1Ah charger. Gottabe careful with it.

Actually theres a huge explanation i read about this but in simple terms our batteries are designed to not charge all the way to 100 percent i believe it's been like that from the start .. even if it shows 100 sometimes after a few seconds it drops to 95 or 96 .. there is nothing to be worried about it's just how it's meant to be, hope i helped
It also needs to be borne in mind that your battery will have decreased in capacity after this long. A lithium polymer battery is only capable of a finite number of charge cycles during its serviceable lifespan.
That being said, the practice of unplugging and replugging the phone in order to force that feelgood 100% indication only serves to further damage the battery. By doing that, you're only shortening your battery's life.

Monster watts Wiqiqi wireless charger gets hot!

Looking for other owners of Wiqiqi or any induction charger. I'm not liking how dang hot my phone is getting after being on the charger... Any suggestions on what to measure to make sure that it's working properly? I don't think the current is dropping to 0 once charged? I hate hot phones!
I am using the new stealth and provided charger.

I will bite. I just got my charger from the postman yesterday. Unboxed it, set it up and dropped my phone on the pad to charge last night. Initially I was concerned seeing only 450 milliamps charging the device. Figured I would let it go that it knows more about charging than I do. When I finally rolled over to ignore it and sleep it was at 85 percent. Get up this morning, it was at 34 percent and extremely hot. Seemingly the 500 milliamps that the charger is capable of outputting is not enough to charge the phone while in standby, but is enough current to bring the temperature to near 49 degrees Celsius.
I am contacting the seller today about a fix or refund.
Well it seems to have been a fluke. It has only happened once or twice. Most mornings my phone is warm, but acceptably so. The temperature appears to NOT be related to current because I have been monitoring that and the temperature can continue to raise as the current goes to zero. I'll try to post my battery charging data with temperature next time I have free time with my s3.

I wouldn't use it. Just sayin'.
My WiQiQi with Galaxy S4 also gets very hot sometimes. It also seems to try to recharge, stop, recharge, stop.... even when battery is 100% charged. I guess these two things are related.

My Nexus 5X becomes hot when charging.

When I started charging from 0% after about 15 minutes, I felt the back of the Nexus 5x warming (not burn your hands). Anyone having this problem?:crying:

It's a rapid charger so yes it might get a little warm from time to time while charging. Are you using the device while charging? That will make it a lot warmer.
