Note 7 Keypad Not Auto Correcting Well - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Anybody having issues with the Note 7 keypad not auto correcting a lot of the time? It's like it corrects some words but not others.
I have made sure all settings are correct and even reset the keyboard settings to be sure.
Thoughts?

I noticed the same thing. I hope it improves with use. Swype seems to be a little better.

I have the same experience. I have become insanely used to the note 4 keyboard and now on the note 7 about 90% of my typos aren't corrected. I'm currently using SwiftKey but wish I could use the default Samsung keyboard.

I have the same experiences like you guys. Auto correct is barely working. I hope they will fix this problem.

I have the same issue. It became such a problem that now I'm using the Google Keyboard. I checked the settings a thousand times and there is nothing in the settings to fix this issue. It probably needs some kind of update from Samsung! In my experience the auto correct only works like 15% of the time. Anyone that has the Note 5 or Edge 7 can confirm whether or not this problem exists in those versions or is it a Note 7 problem exclusively.

This happened on my note 5 ended up switching to google. Samsung suggests the most likely word but to the left is what you typed if you don't click it bang random worss

I came from the Note 5 and the Samsung keyboard on there worked perfectly.
The Note 7 Samsung keyboard auto correct just is not working most of the time. Hopefully an update will correct the problem.

Do you guys have keyboard syncing enabled in your Samsung account? I came from a Note5 and auto-correct seems the same.

I did not have that synced but I did turn it on and no difference for me.

Funny after reading this thread this popped up in my YouTube subs. Uploaded today n all (nsfw)

I found the solution people! When you begin to type and the "suggested words" box comes up at the top of your keyboard, click the right arrow next to the third word. This will bring drop down about 9 suggested words, as well as an "on-off" switch for Auto Replace. Turn Auto Replace on. If it is already on, turn it off and then back on again (That is what I had to do to make it work). Just to clarify, I did this in an individual text message.

I had an S7 Edge. Autocorrect on Samsung keyboard with S7 Edge was MUCH better than it is on the Note7. The autocorrect is terrible on the Note7.

I was hopeful after reading your post, but turning Auto Replace off and on (it was already on) had no effect. I am back to using Google Keyboard.

Dunno, autocorrect seems fine to me ... not noticed any problems ..

Google News doesn't work on my G-Pad. Anyone else?

Hey Guys,
This issue is driving me absolutely crazy. Since I've had my G Pad, I have never successfully gotten news.google.com to work. It loads, then disappears and I am left with a blank page. I refresh, nothing. I did a factory reset, nothing. I just upgraded to the 4.4.2 KitKat leaked build, nothing - same issue. I really don't want to have to install another browser just to get to Google's own news page!
Am I the only one here? This seems so simple, yet it's so frustrating. My LG G2 works fine, my wife's Galaxy S4 works fine, my Nexus 7 works fine, etc. All using Chrome!
-Collin-
I also can't get news.google.com to work with the default web browser or Google Chrome. But it work with UC Browser HD for Tablet. My G Pad is updated to kit Kat

I also have this issue but have you tried holding it in landscape orientation? Try both with auto rotate screen on. If you have the page loaded and go to landscape and then back to portrait it does work but still does not look correct.

It bears mentioning that the Google Newstand app is designed specifically to display Google News on mobile devices. Otherwise there are some excellent 3rd party apps to read Google New, the best of which is NewsHog, which I use. For the record, I use Firefox for Android and can easily see Google News, but NewsHog is a far superior experience IMHO.

I can't "swipe" (Continuous Input) on my Samsung Keyboard after July Security Update

I can't "swipe" (Continuous Input) on my Samsung Keyboard after July Security Update
I tend to waiver back and forth between the Stock samsung keyboard and the new Google Keyboard for my AT&T Note 5.
I haven't been able to use the Samsung keyboard for a bit becuase Samsung's version of their "Swipe" or "Continuous Input" typing option is missing on my device. It seems to me like it has been missing since the July Security update.
I've looked everywhere for the setting. I know that it used to be there somewhere. Samsung keyboard is now "hunt and peck" typing only.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Anyone know a solution?
Thank you
UPDATE - Samsung Support is telling me that it is possible that my carrier (AT&T) removed that setting in a recent update.
That's not true, right?

No, patently false. I have an ATT Note 5 on os 6.0.1 with the july security update installed and the "swiping" or continuous input works just fine on the stock samsung keyboard. Try clearing cache and data on it?

Dude, relax....when you load your application manager, make sure that "All apps" is showing on the top left, then tap on More on the top right and select "Show system apps" since Samsung Keyboard is installed in the System. Scroll down and you'll find Samsung Keyboard.

Dude, that totally sucks and just doesn't make any sense..... did you try doing a search for "continuous" in the Settings search function? Maybe it's hiding somewhere...... If that's the only thing "missing" from your MM-updated phone, I find it hard to believe that it's functioning at all if the OS didn't flash properly....and for just THIS ONE FEATURE to be missing? WEIRD!!!

General Official Android 12 at Moto G30

Hi, im from Argentina so sorry with my english.
I was looking random things about my phone and randomly i found a Youtube video where Android 12 is running in a Moto G30, the video is from Bosnia so i had to use the google translator and says "The local Motorola agency offered us this phone to show Android 12"
This is the video
Thanks.

There are various reports about problems after the update:

Anybody here tried it? Did it cause any problems? I am particularly concerned with the display problems mentioned as the g30 display is already plagued by low brightness.

I'm using it cause... "auto upgrade"...
And all in all I'm ok with it but I'm experiencing one "bug" (see down below). Colors might be more saturated than before, but it's ok for me and it doesn't "hurt my eyes" as some describe it. I'm using the "natural" display mode and the display warmth slider is in the middle.
I read through the linked article a bit but it seams like the experience is very subjective or not all users experience this phenomenon or at least not as bad / strong.
-------
Since my upgrade to Android 12 I'm experiencing one quite annoying bug.
Background:
I'm using my device with the work profile to keep annoying apps at bay.
Using "Shelter" app.
Using "Aurora Store" in work profile to install apps.
No factory reset was performed since upgrade.
Not rooted.
Problem:
Since the upgrade to Android 12 I'm experiencing an quite annoying bug. Using the "phone" app (private profile) I have no sound and microphone sometimes. So I can't hear and can't be heard. If I'm activating the work profile and use the "phone" app (again from private profile) I suddenly have sound and microphone.
Fix / workaround:
Activate the work profile.
Another way to "fix" this problem is to reboot the phone.
After reboot it works for an undefined time. I haven't tested if the problem starts after using work profile and deactivating it again. I'm testing it and I'll try to not forget to post an update for others.
FYI:
If sound from other apps does work, wasn't tested until now. If you need to call you normally have no time for testing, so reboot it was for me.
Tested solutions:
Tested some general "solutions" from REDDIT & Co.
Editing settings in "Sound & vibration" -> "Audio effects": recommended -> "activate Dolby ATMOS". Phone doesn't have that so i resetted the setting (after tapping "Audio effects" tap "Settings" at the bottom then tap 3 dot menu and tap "Reset")
- DIDN'T WORK
Suggestion: it's a carrier problem
Set network selection to manual and select your corresponding network.
- DIDN'T WORK
Deactivate or activate "Wi-Fi calling". (mine was activated so I deactivated it)
- DIDN'T WORK
Enable or disable "VoLTE". (mine was activated so I deactivated it)
- DIDN'T WORK
My questions:
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Has anyone found a solution?
Thanks

Question S21 FE 5G - problem with gesture typing

Hi. Yesterday I got new S21 FE 5G and I have problem with gesture typing. As you can see in the video below, when I try to type longer words with fast finger slide, the keyboard often "loses" my move and starts a second one, resulting in typing two different words, instead of one. Tested on a Samsung and Gboard keyboard. I have found many threads across the internet about this problem on S22, but they say it was fixed in June by software update. Now we have October and this issue exist on my S21 Fe. Any ideas on how this can be fixed?

Same here. I tried both keyboards too. It is the worst phone I have ever owned. I can't believe a high-end phone has such problems and such a bad camera.
Some people on Reddit say that this problem appeared since September update, but I can't confirm this as I bought phone this week. That's why I am wondering if it is damaged touchscreen and I should return phone or just wait for update.
I have the same. And it started 2 updates ago.

I noticed there is a new update CVI5 (snapdragon). I installed it and I can swipe type with no error. However I am not used to doing this and I am a bit slow at it so I cannot recreate this issue. Maybe you can test after this update and let us know if it's fine now.
I have this update since wednesday, it didn't change anything for me.
I have this problem sometimes after the update
I was thinking it due to my new screen protector
I hope someone can port a pixel rom to this device
Hey
I also have the same problem!!!
And yes, I confirm that I've only had the problem for a few months (after a system update....)
it's very annoying, I slide very fast on the keys and, it takes a lot of time to check and correct the texts entered......
And i confirm that I already installed the latest firmware (CIV5....)
Hello. I have the same problem. I bought the phone 2 weeks ago and was immediately offered an update. After that I have the same problem with every keyboard. Has anyone contacted support yet?

@coolawy may I copy your picture and post it in the German Samsung forum? I'm making a post about the problem.
Sure, go ahead
@GymPanse , any news from the German Samsung forum?
This problem is really starting to annoy me
Thank you !
Edit:
I also opened a post on the French Samsung forum.... @coolawy , I also copied your screenshot, thx
So far I only got the tip to reset the settings of the Samsung keyboard to the default setting. Of course it didn't help.
Then I should send a bug report through the Members App. I did, but haven't gotten a response yet.
Same here! They set the post as solved and asked me to contact the support by email
I replied that they can't set the thread as solved and they have to remove this tag.

Edit:
I also sent an email to the support.... I'll let you know as soon as I receive an answer!

I wrote to polish Samsung support about a month ago. They were replying fast, but they weren't helpful at all, so maybe you aren't missing anything.
I am wondering if this issue is fixed in November update? Has anyone already received it?
Today the support answered my email.... they just asked me to install Gboard while i said it doesn't work with gboard too......
No comments......
Hello there, how are you??
Did you test with refresh rate set at 60 instead of 120 ???
I just tried and it seems that I don't have the issue
Could someone have a try? Thx
Edit:
I talked to fast.... the issue is the same, even with the refresh rate set at 60...
Maybe a little better.... but still have the issue
I thought it was a unique problem, but then it's typical. I have the same problem. I hope that switching to Android 13 will solve the problem.
I'm having the same problem on gboard. I thought it was my screen protector cause I've installed a new one recently.

for me it is very annoying - previously I used to enter my password once a week and now it happens to me several times a day because the failure to recognize my fingerprint several times forces me to use a password (and I have a long one)
I have no problems with fingerprint recognition. But since I updated 4 days ago, the fingerprint reader didn't "light up" on turned off screen several times already.
I also experienced very heavy battery drain the day after I installed the update - 35% over night, then ~15%/hour during short geocaching hike. But rebooting the phone fixed that.
Other than that, I don't really see any difference in speed/performance - I feel it's identically great as it was before.
Oh and the new "pocket detection" screen with swipe up is really annoying and difficult to unlock.
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else lost the ability to use the cellular band selection hidden network setting - under the Call Settings menu? I'm not able to access it in Android 13. It says the app is no longer installed.
This is the menu: com.samsung.android.app.telephonyui.hiddennetworksetting.MainActivity
Update went smoothly for me, no hiccups or crashing problems after it.
Biggest problem I've had so far, like jenda.69 mentioned, is the new accidental touch protection screen, not sure why Samsung felt the need to change something when it was already working well. I could not for the life of me unlock the screen.
Other than that, I'd say everything else is pretty good. Mini stutters from OneUI 4 are fixed, like the ones that happened often in the quick settings menu. Personally I prefer the animations from OneUI 4 but I don't have a problem with the new ones either. The new clock font options are pretty slick as well.
Lastly some nitpicks; The default animated call screen is gone which is a very minor thing but I did like that gradient animation a lot and how it changed according to contact pictures. New one is pretty dull. Samsung didn't make use of the new Android 13 media player either which is kinda disappointing but I don't have too big a problem with that.
Overall a decent update. 9/10 has a little something for everyone
