I have never come across this before and the only way to shut it off is to turn the headset off for 10 seconds then back on. There are no notifications happening or alarms on.
It happens to me when I use PowerAmp.... I just have to go setting/audio focus/uncheck the "Resume on start" option.

I use my phone for work and just leave it plugged in whenever on a conference call, so the screen doesn't time out (checked setting). Now I love the feature of the screen blacking out via proximity sensor whenever not using a BT, just my ear, then the screen turning back on when I move my head away.
However, whenever I'm away from the charger and on a call using my BT earpiece, the screen times out very quick. And there's no way to get the screen back on using the power button at that point, as it'll just hang up the call. My BT does not have mute functionality, and there are times when I need to click Mute or use the dial pad... and at that point, I'm SOL.
I've put a Screen On widget on my desktop and in the notification bar, but the screen times out too quickly for me to remember to tick it. And that's a pain to do anyway on every BT call when not connected to power.
Question... Is there any kind of setting that once the bluetooth option is checked in the dialer, that the screen could stay on longer? Or would this need a mod? Thanks.
Wanting to use the lock screen music controls. When plugged in, music controls stay on. (most likely due to setting to keep backlight on while charging) I want the music controls to stay on when not plugged in. Currently it time's out after about 30seconds. Then I have to press the power button again. Want music control to be available when music is playing. Anyone have any ideas? Don't care about power drain, This feature is for when I'm working out/running. Can't find anything that adjusts this.
settings>security>automatic lock
lets you change that, although only up to a delay of 30 minutes.
While I'm at work, I have to put my phone into 'mute' mode. Then I plug it in and let it charge while I'm at work. However, whenever a phone call comes in and as I ignore it, it turns to a "missed call", the phone automatically turns the volume back on. Then someone else calls and it rings at full volume, getting my boss pissed at me. How do I set it so that it WON'T turn off mute just because of a "missed" call????
After I turn off car (ACC off), unit goes into sleep mode (shows "Powering off" and screen goes black as supposed).
But, my phone is still connected to HU via BT... And any phone call is routed to BT and as the HU is in sleep mode it cannot operate (other side on phone hears nothing and I cannot hear anything as HU is not functioning in sleep mode).
This lasts for 30 seconds (sleep timeout as set). I have to turn off BT on phone in order to disconnect from HU to be able to use phone... Not convenient.
BUT if I turn HU by button (have VOL/PWR button on it) then it goes also in sleep mode (same thing as with ACC off - shows "Powering off" and it goes dark screen) BUT then BT is turned off immediately and my phone is disconnected as it should!
So there is some difference how car (ACC) off and PWR button operates.
Anyone having same issues or have clue how to resolve this problem?
I've noticed that if you have your phone's sound set to vibrate, then there's no ringtone or vibration when you're in Android Auto connected to your vehicle. This wasn't the case with my Nexus 6 on Nougat. Is anyone else experiencing this behavior? The call will be missed if you don't happen to see the call on your car's display screen. The only way to change the volume at this point is to disconnect from AA and set it, then reconnect. I would expect that the phone should defer to the volume set on the car once connected.
Yes. I had a similar situation last night, a text message came in and the only notification was the the on-screen popup. On my last phone it would send a notification via the car speakers.
Try going into the Do not Disturb settings, and under automatic rules, toggle Driving off. I haven't had a chance to test my notifications in the car since turning this off, but I do remember reading about this being a "feature" of Oreo, I think. Seems like a pain in the ass to me.

Android Auto should completely override the automatic driving mode in DND. In reality Android Auto's notification setting should supersede all other notification settings.
