I came to a conclusion that my home app is corrupted.
I've tried to upgrade the (root ver) 5.0.5.1 to the newest available rooted rom but still the home screen have some problems
to avoid factory reset I would like to re-install only the home apk.
Can I do that?

I have my rooted kindle, and the stock launcher (KF screen) is flickering, when i swtich to another launcher (i.e GO launcher) there is no problem.
UPDATE: I found the root cause, i deleted the Kindle Fire reader (KindleForOtter.apk) via titanium backup and when i restore it, that is where the problem is occuring.
SOLUTION: adb push KindleForOtter.apk from stock rom, then updated it via Google Play. it solved the issue.
I've been using Android Revolution 9.2 and this morning installed 10.0. Everything was working fine for a while, then all of a sudden the GAPPS process started force-closing and I lost all access to the Play Store. I would click on the play store icon and it would just bounce me back to the launcher (in this case, Nova Launcher 2.0). I decided I need to reflash Android Rev HD 10.0 (I have CWM Recovery 6.0.1 installed). The AROMA installer would start, but it would always lock up at some point before the installation began, usually at the prompt to backup the efs partition, sometimes earlier, sometimes later. I haven't been able to get a clean flash started. I even tried to go back to 9.2, but the same thing is happening.
I did a factory reset hoping it would fix the problem, but the GAPPS process continues to crash and I can't access google to restore my apps. So I'm really up **** creek here. Am I looking at a bad RAM problem all of a sudden? (god, I hope not!).
Any help/advice would be welcome.

Do I need to unfreeze my apps in Titanium Backup?
Is just as simple as unfreezing them, unrooting via SuperSU then taking the update?
I would highly recommend unfreezing your apps before taking the OTA, i believe the OTA doesn't install bloat back on, the OTA will do a factory reset on your G3 after it flashes and if you are missing certain apps you will run into problems, for example if you don't have App Updates installed before it resets itself you will be greeted with the setup screen on every boot (like when you first ever turned your phone on, but everytime) not having App Updates before a reset will also stop your notification bar from being able to pull down & no access to the background apps menu.
It's just best to restore all your apps before an OTA, then unroot, then try the OTA.
Once in awhile some people are still able to take an OTA while rooted somehow, but this is super rare.
You can try stealth mode in supersu enstead of removing root, i don't know if you can unroot using supersu though.
You might have to flash to stock firmware to remove root, in that case you could just flash directly to the same firmware that's being offered to you by the OTA.
In trying to fix a connectivity issue with my school wifi, I did a factory reset in TWRP (after making a backup). Upon completing the reset and restore, many functions have stopped working. Most apparent:
-Home key now only functions as lock (screen off/on) switch, and no longer returns to home screen (I'm using Nova Launcher), long press does not bring up recent apps (and using xposed to reassign menu button to recent apps makes that button do nothing as well.)
-Settings button in notification panel does nothing
-paid apps not downloading from play store (none work any longer)
-general difficulty accessing/implementing account data from google apps
I still have root, and those apps are all working fine, but paid features such as Nova Launcher Prime aren't working. When I checked the play store, I got a an error "-24" if I tried to reinstall that app. Based on online recommendations, I uninstalled Play Store updates and cleared the cache, rebooted, and now play store won't even load my apps list and closes due to an unexpected error. Does anybody have any ideas? Could reflashing the firmware help? I feel like there are probably other problems waiting for me to discover.
Thank you so much in advance
Okay, so I tried reflashing the NI1 firmware via odin, which at least fixed my ability to run Play Store, but didn't fix any of my initial problems.
Okay, I got it. The problems were all related to a corrupted Nova install, which was hard to find due to a similarly corrupted Super SU. I have no clue how the settings /notification panel bug came about. I will probably find new problems with other apps, but I am okay now.
My FTV has been buggy lately so I decided to do uninstall a lot of my apps and upgrade to 5.0 using Rbox's latest pre-root. After installing, my montdatatoUSB function was broken. I ended up deciding to do a factory reset, but something weird happened. It rest my user account, but it didn't actually reset the FTV. I still have my old apps. Plus, the newly formatted USB drive is visible to the FTV, but when I try to move an app to the USB, it says it is unable to move it. Ugh! I knew I was hesitant to upgrade for a reason! Besides flashing a rom and doing a factory reset through the FTV settings, how can I truly wipe my FTV and actually start from scratch?
