I understand the OTA has been out for some time now -- but is it still the case that the flashable files have not been released? A .tot would be really nice right about now.
If stock LG Marshmallow has come out for the VK810, I wasn't aware of it. When I had checked a week or two ago via the official tools, 36B Lollipop 5.0.2 was what it was downloading.
I sure wish Marshmallow or 5.1.1 would come out for it. If it has come out, I'll jump on that ASAP.
We do have a 22B TOT thanks to another user, I have in the same place as the KDZs in my signature below.
If anything new would come out, it'd most likely become available as a KDZ. If/when I'd have time, I'd make a flashable zip.
Edit: I just checked with the official tool and still the latest KDZ it wants to download is 36B. I'm on 24A KitKat right now (very debloated) since it works so much better than Lollipop 5.0.1. The temptation isn't enough for me to restore 36B stock to see if there's an OTA from 36B to Marshmallow. The VK815 LG G Pad X8.3 has Marshmallow, as do all the newer LG tablets, but I don't think the VK810 does. If you have any information I haven't seen, or a link to a KDZ, please let me know. @invisiblek has made CM13 for the VK810. I have a thread for it in the General section, since I don't intend on supporting it and I don't think Invisiblek is prepared to either until/if he gets more bugs ironed out. I can't use it as a daily driver, as much as I'd like to, though.
Thanks for the info -- annoying that its been abandoned.

You're welcome!
I agree. Also annoying that it doesn't have LG Backup like all other LG devices have since after the 8.3 came out, although the VK810 source code has code for LG Backup.
Another user on here got rid of his two VK810s and bought two VK815s, partially so he could have LG Backup.
I got mine for free as part of a deal, there's always a reason they give away certain tech...
Yep, and tablets in general, especially the ones not super primo, are often neglected. After all, my VS985 G3 was free within weeks of when I got mine, at the same time as the tablet, and it's gotten three builds of stock LG Marshmallow, albeit the VK810 is at least 4-6 months older than the VS985.

Hi guys
few days a i have been flashed the official android 5 from Poland euro and everything okay until i check the battery
note : i flashed the official build KDZ file and i don't use lg health or google service !!!
You and me both buddy, I personally think that LG has given the update as a soak test. That Google Services bug has been a killer even on the kitkat firmware, and like nobody seems to notice. I have tried so many roms just to get rid of that. There is a tread dedicated to fixing it but it seems to keep re-enabling itself at screen on. I have used all the Lollipop versions to no avail, so i went back to kitkat (Kn Virus Accura V5).

now i feel good because i'm not the only one but i hope LG fix this soon as possible and i flashed the official Poland Lollipop v20a kdz so do you think i can receive OTA update in future or should keep flash through KDZ because I don't live in Euro.
Does anyone know of a way to root the LG G3 D852 running Android 5.0 Lollipop after the OTA update that recently came out?
I already tried using the CM12 nightly rom that runs Lollipop but it loses some much features from the LG G3 such as double tap to wake and I dislike the style of CM12 a lot.
Any help at all? I don’t want to use Cyanogen Mod at all.

This method only works with Kitkat. So far there is no method to root Lollipop. You will have to downgrade to kitkat then root again and follow this thread written by autoprime http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/psa-stop-taking-ota-updates-update-t2909412

Someone will have to make a stock flashable zip including root. This is something I'm attempting, but having very little success in doing due to the bumping of the kernel.
Hopefully someone will be able to figure this out -- I'll gladly donate to anybody that can root the LG G3 D852 with the Lollipop update. I am already missing Cloudy5 but decided to try out the update. I am very disappointed -- Rogers / LG seriously crippled Lollipop and many of the best features are gone. Even the lock screen notifications suck compared to AOSP ROMs. Eager to go back, may need to go back to KitKat, root again, then re-install Cloudy5.

I don't know enough about it but am trying to learn as well, unfortunately i'm only a geek and not a techy geek. What I was hoping to do was flash back to KK then root/custom recovery and then flash system.img using the LG flashtool, so that I could have official Lollipop only rooted.
I was trying to follow this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4s6wrpD2Gk, but it's not enough for me to go on, perhaps it can help put someone else in the right direction.
I've got the kzd file for if anyone needs it.
It looks like Lollipop rooting has begun

UPDATE - Seems like @topet2k12001 has figured it out for the D858. Who knows enough or is willing to try it on the D852?

Hi @cytherean,
Thanks for the mention.
I am going to work on uploading a YouTube video tutorial for the steps that I did so that owners of other LG G3 variants may try if it works for them.
I would say though, to try @autoprime's method first because that's exactly what I did. I merely added a minor/extra "manual" step to his procedure which is to "bump" the Lollipop boot.img of the D858HK (as the online "bumping" service is already taken down - I was too late in the game, unfortunately).
Stay tuned!
PS: would you guys recommend for me to create a thread solely for this? If yes, I'd probably name it with "D858HK" and then others can post and report their findings, so that I can update the thread title. Or do you suggest I just keep it under @autoprime's thread (or the D858HK thread)?
The only reason I am thinking of creating a thread is to increase visibility into the procedure. Rest assured that I always give credit to all the things I have learned through reading and discovering the process.
UPDATE: I decided to create a thread. At this point, I have tested and re-tested the procedure; it works for the D858HK (100% success rate). http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-update-to-lollipop-root-bumpd-twrp-t3048845
Inviting owners of other LG G3 variants to try too, and let me know if it works.
So I was wondering if my phone is "young" enough to get the marshmallow update and after a lot of googling I could not get a clear answer...
I own the LG Optimus G Pro E986 and it is almost 2 years and 9 months since the manufacture date and its current OS is Jellybean...
I searched on some sites and found out that LG will allow the marshmallow update on LG G phones first, if I remember correctly, but is LG still updating Optimus G Pro phones? Is there still a way I can get marshmallow? Also do you know any good ROM (marshmallow or lollipop) for the device?
Thanks
Don't expect anything from LG, especially not for EU and Open variants.
Some variants got their KitKat update in 2014, Korean variants (F240 models) got their Lollipop (5.0.2) update last year and that's pretty much it. LG doesn't plan and won't push any further updates for this device, especially it is now more than 3 years old. Hell, they gave up on E98x variants after a year My E988 got an initial 4.1.2 patch first day I got it, and no updates till April of 2014 (KitKat 4.4.2) and... Silence after that, so yeah, not even a full year of updates and support.
Your best chance to get some sweet Lollipop is to flash some of custom ROMs available - you can choose between stock based and AOSP based. I was maintaining SlimLP till recently it became obvious there will be no more updates to their Lollipop repos, and now I'm using custom CM builds. Marshmallow is a dead-end, simply too much stuff for this device is broken/obsolete/non-existent, and it has almost 0% dev interest because of that, locked bootloaders and LG's 30-variants-for-one-model idiotic policy.
So, if you want to keep your device 100% working, keep it on 4.1.2 or try to find a KitKat KDZ for your variant (I had to flash mine manually, LG's OTA didn't even offer KK update, and I didn't even knew there was a KK update before LG's PC suite prompted it). If you don't mind occasional bugs, glitches and crashes, move to custom ROMs (keep your jellybean as base, root it, if not rooted already, "unlock" with Freegee, flash TWRP).
Thats true... As a device its awesome and I am really satisfied by its performance but LG suddenly "forgot" it, like it never existed. I have installed cm12.1 nightly on my E986 but yeah there are some issues (black screens etc.)... so I will test it for some time and I will think if I switch to stock ( which worked smoothly and no problems) or not.
My last hope is BlurOS project which was started by a team in Vietnam's XDA and they are about to create Murshmallow ROM for LG GPro series too.
So whoever is interested please vote for it here (after you become member of the group)-> https://m.facebook.com/questions.ph...o-bluros-support-lg-t3372926&refid=9&_rdr#_=_
Also check the XDA thread about BlurOs ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-pro/general/please-register-to-bluros-support-lg-t3372926
Try running CM 12.1 with Wild kernel (blackouts are fixed, not sure about flickering, haven't used that one in long time), or if someone else made a CM-compatible flashable zip of kernel I've used for Slim (I've fixed all display issues - no blackouts, no flashing, no glitches.. zombigrn made flashables of older kernels for BlissPop, not sure if they'll work on CM).
I saw that thread but I'm taking that with a reserve. I managed to get some Marshmallow ROMs to boot, but RIL, sensors, camera, NFC.. god knows what else... all broken. Not a job for one guy who just knows his way around and isn't a pro. I'll keep this phone as long as possible, and if someone with enough knowledge to fix those issues emerges, well, more ROMs on our way. But from current state of things... This device simply got it's EOL really, really quick. Too bad, it's still pretty good phone, but either way I'm looking towards an update - something cheap, unlocked and with good AOSP-based ROM support.
Hello fellow users !
A couple of days ago, I saw that the Stylo 2 Plus is going to get an update installing the new ?Nougat 7.0?! Anxious, I wanted to get it, but after long searches later... I found a thread in the T-Noble forums that people installed what was a security update and not 7.0. An employee later replied saying that they also got too exited and won't launch the new update until later date. It was a bummer, as I had backed up everything (Nandroid and file backup) to install a new custom ROM but there aren't any compatible then found about the nougat update. Phone broken after after flashing an incompatible ROM, restored the Nandroid backup then....
BUT ENOUGH OF STORY TELLING!!! (Why did you stop??? -_-)
Here to get new features aren't cha?
1.WELL YUST CONnect your phone to LG Bridge and update from there...
Anticlimactic I know (lol) but it can't get any simpler!
Problems connecting to LG Bridge? install the drivers from the LG page or look online.
Also here for root?
Well head on over to @messi2050 's thread located here [[Recovery] Twrp v3 For Lg Stylo 2 Plus]
this method that was first intended for the 6.0.1 version, is still MM compatible and works perfectly with my device!
Don't know about Xposed though (can someone comment about that)
Thanks for reading my thread!(and the story if you did lol)

Really? Seems people dont have it from all the comments I've been seeng.
It probably depends on your service provider if they had the update earlier for you. For example. T-Moble was going to release the nougat update the 15th of may but it had turned out to be another security update.

Well I have the tmobile variant and I've had it for months now. Maybe some people rooted their phone or something so they didn't get an Ota or something.
Proof of root! (Will edit this onto first post when I get home)
With the advent of a bootloader unlock coming within the next few days for all LG G4's (thanks to steadfasterX ) I'm excited to finally resurrect my LG G4's ; one currently on Marshmallow just being awesome and one on Lollipop with the dreaded bootloop but stable with the 4 Core Disable. I'm excited to see what sort of development will happen from here on out but also know this is just the beginning for all those individuals who have been stuck with a locked bootloader. I was hoping to see Paranoid Android or a variant thereof available for the H815 to flash but it doesn't seem like it's available. I find Pi control invaluable over the standard stock navigation and while it's possible to use with LMT on Lollipop (which is what I currently do) I was hoping to see a rom with all or some of AOSPA's features. If it's possible this is being worked on or if I may ask that someone consider developing it I know me and a few others who have been waiting for the time to unlock our bootloaders would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a link to the last thread I found on the subject https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/paranoid-android-returns-t3395210
