I think it is kernel controlled and should be asked in kernel thread as well.

Maybe with an app like Light Flow?

The only thing keeping me from going to JB is I need the status bar toggles. If any devs can see this that would be awesome. Has anyone else gone to jellybean and returned to ice cream sandwich because of the lack of toggles?
Use Notification toggles app from Google play store, its free and works great in jellybean

yeah I tried it I'm just gonna wait until it gets baked into a Rom. Not enough to deter me from getting a belly ache from playing with Jelly beans though!
You can even customize Notification Toggles with holo style buttons.

but the led flashlight toggle isn't working...
I'm using Power Controls and LED's working. But I miss the 2G/2G toggle.
Do they stay at the top or do they get nudged down by other notifications?

I remember seeing an option within the app to keep it at the top. However, when I checked that box there was a system notification explaining this gave the app access to all your typed information including credit card numbers (excluding passwords). The implementation it uses is through accessibility service so I'm guessing that's why. I left that option off but for the few hours I used the app it kept the toggles at the top even with the option turned off.

You need to install Tesla Led from market, it is in the faq...
Elixir 2 is also working as notification bar toggles, even with Flashlight. It's in the Playstore.

can you share your notification toggles ?
Extended controls also work good a little more customization and the flashlight actually works. its a $1.

Widgetsoid works great
I use "More quickly panel" customization plus an option to keep the toggles on top of other notifications.

Why do all of these have to have a notification icon in upper left? Even set at transparent you can still tell there's a place holder there since any other notifications would be moved one spot to the right.

Because it's essentially an interactive notification. Without an icon it wouldn't exist
I'm not sure if this is a ROM feature or can be implemented seperatelly but the only thing that bothers me on the GNex is that the notification light is blinking in a very slow rate. So let's say that I have the green colour set of SMSs, if I take a look on my phone the odds I see the light are 50%. To make sure if there's an update I have to look at it for like 10 seconds which is pretty annoying. I want the light always on as it was with my HTC Desire. Is there an app for that? Is this a ROM request?
Thanks in advance.
The BAMF Paradigm ROM lets you control the LED notification - both the frequency of the blinks and also allows you to choose a different color for different types of notifications.
Alternatively, if you're on a different ROM, check out the Light Flow app.

I would of thought, if you have a LED control app you can change the LED to any colour you like, just like I can on my Nexus 5.
I have purchase the LED control app, so I'll check on this later today.
Will keep you posted.
It's only white. You can't change it.

Don't bother, I tried both LED control apps and Xposed modules, Nexus 7 2013's LED can only produce white light.
I have had a look around once I got home from work, the LED is only hardwired for one colour, which in a way I think is a shame because nexus recent nexus phones have multicolour support.
Thx everyone I now know that it can only produce White
I know you can control it with an app like Lightflow, but does anyone know or have a list of default LED notification colors and what they represent?
As far as I know its based in the icon color of the app. So tappatalk would be orange, messaging is white and so forth.

Hi all,
I really enjoy the 5x, but the screen is just way to dull for me.
is there any way, or rom, that makes colors look more ''vivid''? or makes brightness more than 100 prencent of stock 5x?
will cm13 improve the brightness?
thanks!!!
Yes. Install elementalX kernel. And use their app from the play store to customize the display colors. You can modify saturation and all that.

thanks!
thank you. can it make it more AMOLED like?
Just try it out. I would say no. Because Amoled has very deep blacks which you can't have on an LCD, that's because the panel is lighted with one backlight. Whereas Amoled had its own licht source for every individual pixel.
