How to root lg g3 d851 marshmellow 6.0 - T-Mobile LG G3

I've had my phone for about a year now. Bought it unlocked as a tmobile phone then switched it to AT&T. Yesterday I decided to root. I first tried Kingroot which was a failure. Next I tried one click root. All went well until installing ADB drivers which it then said there's no method for my phone. I don't trust any random google search method so I'm wanting to know if there is an actual way or if I'm really stuck not being able to root?

An alternate method of rooting is to rollback to lollipop then rooting that. But it also depends on the revision of the main board. Later revisions are booby trapped against rollback.

Not yo worry..... Someone will sure find a solution for it.... Although this update has some problems....
Wifi signals are not stable.... And 4g as well.....
Performance according to the benchmarks is decreased..... On youtube GEEKBENCH shows approximate 950 single core and 2800 multicore....
But on my device it is around 600 and 1600 respectively.......
---------- Post added at 11:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:59 AM ----------
Looking for alternative methods like towel root etc....
King root and frama root are not witking with it.....
But hope that kingroot wil get an option soon..
Anyone tried a method on described on youtube??
They have done it there with one click root pc application!

I downloaded the 30D firmware and manually flashed my phone the new E to the previous 30D and it worked no problem Although I did have to restore my apps, etc. I had everything backed up with TruBackup and GCloud. I then rooted again temporarily, installed TWRP and TWRP manager, rebooted to TWRP installed SuperSU there.......and phone was rooted and working great again with 30D

I went through the process like 4 times until I finally got it right. The last time, I had trouble with KR getting root. I could be wrong, but it seemed like disabling Lookout app before running KR helped.

Thanks. I'm having problems with KR getting root also but will disable Lookout and see if that helps.

I too am having a heck of a time getting this G3 D851 rooted. I had KingRoot temproot working, tried to install Super SU via playstore to get perm root, but installer said was a conflict with another rooting app, and failed. I have tried like 5 different methods, none of them are working. Phone is currently on 30d via OTA. I rooted the wife's G3 TMo last year easily, so not sure why this same phone is havign such issues. Can anyone explain how best to use KingRoot & then get perm root? Soon I will have no hair left! :crying:

i am on 85130d. temp rooted with kingroot, used flashify to twrp, booted to twrp flashed auto repack, then flashed superuser zip. phone has been on lg screen trying to boot for about 15 minutes now. what did i do wrong??

[Q] New to G2 - having multiple issues

Hello,
This is my first time using any LG product having Android. I bought LG G2 LS980 (LS980VSE) with 4.4.2 from a local shop in Pakistan. I am new to LG so please help me out in multiple issues I am having.
1) First of all, I get Hands free Activation Notice every time. What is it and how do get rid of it? I did look for a solution and it told me to rename a certain apk file. I am unable to do as I am not able to root the device. I will mention it later.
w
2) I am not getting an option to Import Sim contacts. I can make calls or receive them but there is no option to import/export contacts from sim card. Could it be related to hands free activation?
3) As I mentioned earlier, I am unable to root my device. I looked for solutions and tried different methods...none worked. I tried STump root. It says I am rooted but I am not. Towel root does not support as it says. And ioroot fails in signature vitrifaction.
Please help me solve these issues.
Regards.
Same here buddy can't root lg g2 ls980
tot your phone back then run stump
Yeah stump worked for me on LS980VSE. I reset before running it. I would just suggest resetting and running stump. However, first try downloading any new release of stumproot. Sorry if I'm no help but it worked for me on 4.4.2. If it does work be sure to run autorec for your recovery it's designed for the G2 specifically.
I got root working by downgrading to ZVC. After that I able to take care for Hands Free Activation issue.
A question, can I go back to ZVE and have it rooted?
Any root or such breaks ota and bricks phone.

If you installed autorec you can backup just to try it gives you the option to reapair superuser. I'm not sure if anyone has tried but maybe you can use adb to drop supersu on ZVE, I just find it strange stump root worked for me I did have to run it a couple times to succeed.

You must fully unroot first, then take ZVE, then re-root with stump.

TWN/TAIWAN V20İ LGD855 - Root Methods Don't WORK :(

Hi everyone,
I have D855 INT, version TWN/TAIWAN. v20i officially released in a few days. I flashed v20i kdz file with flash tool, rom is perfect. When I try to root with One Click Root tool or DP Root, DP Tools and SEND_COMMAND script etc. all methods do not works at this time. Is there a way to root v20i? I use both v20h and v20p, I had not any root problems. How you root when you get v20i?
Thanks.

I am not getting error. SU Binary does not installed, so I could not get the root access. I think LG blocked that.
This woreked for me:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/root-g3-pc-kingroot-t3136013
Try several times if you don't get at first
Downgrade first maybe?
I had to downgrade to my carrier's stock ROM for Kitkat and then I was able to root with the methods listed above. Then I could flash a custom recovery with Flashify and flash a nice ROM like Cyanogenmod or something. Proccess took a while as I soft bricked my phone originally haha

Thx a lot, it worked for me (the other solutions didn't work).
It failed the 1st time. After to clean it (clean recent apps), it succeed the 2nd time :good:
Then, you can do this to have SuperSU and to remove Kingroot: http://zidroid.com/how-to-get-ride-and-replace-kinguser-with-supersu-app/
(I confirm that it's ok on my LG G3 32g TWN-v20i)
Help.
Any other effective method to root LG G3 32GB D855 v20i-TWN? I Actually tried every method I could find From one click root to manual and king root. Nothing works with my phone. :crying:
How many times did you try Kingroot? It took me about 5 times to get it to work. You must also be connected to the internet. I have the exact same model and it did work after a few tries.

I tried alot of times more that 10 ans different versions of it the latest one and previous kingroot versions. What happens is that when I try to root my phone it gets stuck on 16-18% then the kingroot app closes when I try to open it again it says it failed.

[Q] AT&T Note Edge Root, Kingroot + SafeStrap?

for a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge (AT&T SM-N915A) Has anyone used ODIN to flash 4.4.4 from Lollipop (which I read doesn't trip knox) and then used Kingroot to get temporary root and then install Safestrap? I didn't really find any custom roms, but when booting from Safestrap, wouldn't root still be available even if you installed the stock Lollipop rom as the SS rom? Or would it be too difficult to remove the recovery if that's present in the stock LP rom so it doesn't mess with SS if you boot from it?

hey guys,
I am from Vietnam and i just 've bought the SM-N910A (said that from ATT) in Vietnam. I used RootChecker and Phone INFO to get to check my phone.
The result is my phone was ROOTED!!!. I restarted some times but the ROOT is still accessed.
I tried to use Root Explorer to copy/paste from/into system folder, it's ok like other rooted devices.
I'm following xda-note edge and see everyone's saying that NO way to permanent root ATT note egde.
I also dont know what method the seller used to root my edge, but i think it's permanently rooted.
I've NOT try to unlock bootloader neither install recovery. There seem to be no official method for ATT edge. I am afraid bricking my device.
I upload some screen to show you my note. Thanks and need your advice, guys

When you moved data into /system did you remove it before rebooting, or did you leave it in /system and were still able to boot?
If you could enable USB Debugging and open a shell with ADB and type "ps", then post the output, that may be a place to start.
Recently, kingroot has been able to get root on my note, but after 5-10 minutes I get ANRs and the phone crashes, then I have to re flash with Odin to go back to stock. I have logcat logs up to where it crashes as well.
I'm on 5.1.1
Edit
5 minutes after I posted this AT&T tried pushing a security update. Probably to fix this.

Best method to root SM-T900?

I'm getting a refurbished Tab Pro 12.2 SM-T900 delivered on Monday. I've read and read on rooting it but most are a couple months old. I think I have the steps down and seem pretty easy, Odin 5.1.1, Odin Twrp, install seamless SU 2.67. What about CF-Auto-Root-v2wifi-v2wifiue-smt900? Would that work too? The file is dated 12/27/2015 and says its for 5.1.1. Is there any reason not to use it over the seamless 2.67? Is there an advantage to using seamless 2.67 over CF-Auto-Root?
I just rooted mine today on 5.1.1. Since already on 5.1.1 you shouldn't have to Odin the 5.1.1 ROM. I used odin to first install twrp, that went fine. I did this because i wanted to do a unrooted backup. Then I did use Odin with CF Auto Root, which has superuser in it. I initially had a little issue getting the binaries to update, but I downloaded su from the play store and reflashed cf auto root and all went fine. Double checked with root checker and I was good to go. Them set up the rest of my tablet with nova launcher. I'm sure it will go great for you with whatever method you use.

[Q] Is there a root process for Z1C 14.6.A.1.236 on a Locked Bootloader

Is there a process to gain root access on the last Sony stock firmware release 14.6.A.1.236 (Android 5.1.1) with a LOCKED bootloader???
There are processes for rooting ZC1 Android 4.4, but was wondering if things had moved on since then.
Thx.

Do this - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72547776&postcount=6 or downgrade to KK and use Doomlord rootkit, then flash LP prf.
KingRoot works with the latest stock firmware (.236). Just tried it today on my Z1C without any issues.
Just tried KingRoot, not working.
I would also like to get root, but it seems so much more complicated than for any other product which I cannot really understand. I just want to get rid of some bloatware but downgrading and new roms and all of this is not a road I want to go, nor loosing any existing data.
Would be great if somebody has something to make that all easier.

If you're on stock LP, Kingroot should work. Many have done it. There's not going to be any other way to root without wiping data, but you can restore data after rooting.

Scroll down here for many versions - http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/kingro...-release/kingroot-5-0-1-android-apk-download/
I think latest version has worked for some, but maybe try an older one. One thing about Kingroot is that it will sometimes say root not possible, but then actually root it. Also, trying the same thing more than once will sometimes have different results.
I'd have to check to see what version I used, but I think it was whatever the latest version was.
There are two versions of KingRoot, the APK and a Windows application. If one doesn't work then maybe try the other.
kingoroot works , and using pc version looks easier because all kingo apps are easy to delete
ok so it works for everyone than me, hmm, ok have to live with that.
thanks
idk if theres a difference, but i found apks which were "kingroot" only and others named "newkingroot" Ive always only used the last one and it worked fine. Here's a link to the official release. Might be at least worth another try. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/one-click-root-tool-android-2-x-5-0-t3107461
i resetted my phone and used kingroot and it says it works. also like kingoroot before. I tested with root checker and seems fine.
but as soon as I try to uninstall some build in apps google books. google chrome to save storage on the system it fails.
I do get prompted for root access but using different apps I get the sams result.
is that normal?
fixed all of this, just started with a complete fresh installation
both are working, even if they do not say so after the process has finished.

mount -o remount,rw /system
