I would like to have a kernel that will give me good performance but great battery life! What do you guys suggest and post some screenshots of your battery life with the kernel please!
theres no point in these kind of threads. read the kernel threads and general/q&a, you'll find out why.

Stock. More performance means less battery and/or stability and vice versa. Stock was already built to be the median between the three.

That's kind of the same as asking for a 400HP engine that has the fuel efficiency of 5 liter per 100 km.
Phone is coming in tomorrow and have heard crazy mixed reviews about the battery life on the phone.
What kind of life do you guys get?

Running Alpha S4_10_r2 ROM with BioShock 2.0 Kernel.
Samsung Stock 2600mAh battery :good:
The devs here do great jobs. Faux kernel using intellidemand with task650 AOKP has been awesome with great battery.
Forever Flashing/T-Mobile GS4
What is the best kernel to run with this ROM? I know its base off what I like but other people experience would be highly appreciated. I heard its out of devil or plasma kernel for this ROM. I really like my battery life.

I'm running it on Plasma Kernel and the battery life has been horrible. 3 hours on with 1 hour and 40 minute screen time and I'm down to 40%. I'm going to switch over to Devil and see if that gives me better battery life. I'm only using plasma because of stweaks so I can up the speaker volume since the AOSP volumes are really low.

This rom and plasma have runied my life as of late.
I'm back to stock cause I could not get plasma to install and work with dirty Unicorn and now I can't get plasma to install on stock I have no idea what to do.
So I love plasma for the same reason I need the audio tweaks but love dirty unicorn too. Now I'd just be happy with one or the other at this point. If anyone has had thos issues or can give me a gyide link please do.

why couldn't you get plasma to install? There was a new version that came out 2 days ago for 4.3 roms and plasma doesn't work on TW roms. I've always used Perseus kernel on TW based roms since stweaks supports it.

You have to give kernels time to settle in. Battery life means nothing unless you've given the kernel a day or so to figure everything out.
IME Plasma runs smoother than stock on DU, if you bump the clocks on CPU/GPU a bit. And last I tried Devil it didn't even run as smooth as stock on DU. The stock on DU is quite good.

Never had any trouble with battery issue with Plasma on either roms, well at least not with 4.2 roms. Maybe the kernel has some kinks and what not to work out. I might switch back to stock if the battery doesn't improve. I do miss my spen funtionality.

Okay I'll admit I am new to this so maybe it was the Perseus I was running stock. Hmm. So that is the one I like then because I used Stweaks and it made the audio better than the DSP that comes w/ DU IMO.
So my beef is the Kernel threads don't really give any info in the post as to what I have to have to run it. IDK maybe I am lost. So basically I am on stock now, if I want to just do a quick Kernel w/ the Stweaks option I need to get Perseus then??
Thanks sorry and I want to jump back to DU but hopefully w/ the audio tweaks and Stweaks I was really digging., IF that is possible also let me know as I seem to be missing something in the kernel threads.
THanks everyone this has been killing me brick flash brick flash ....uughh.

Hoss, almost all the SPen functionality is available via freeware or payware programs on Play. And has been for months. "Almost" as in the only thing I know of that you can't do is do selection-based screencaps.
Really the only thing TWiz has going for it at this point is that it has good battery life, is Touchwiz, and is 8+ months out of date.
Plasma 2.0 is churning fine on my 4.3 DU right now.
Well, I'm an idiot. Had been using the Plasma kernel or trying w/ everything. It was the Perseus one that I love.
Can we use the Perseus on DU? Probably not but that's what I want to do that would be the perfect combo IMO.

Perseus is for TouchWiz ROMs while Plasma is for AOSP so the answer to your question is no you can't use Perseus on DU

How many of you are running stock? Would you like a custom kernel with optimizations, governors, schedulers and overclocking/undervolting? Would anyone use it if I released one? If so, what governors and schedulers would you like to see?
Thanks!
Personally, I love running stock. I would definitely like to see a kernel that focuses on battery saving.
Please release the kernel. This phone needs some overclock
I'm going to wait until Nougat source is released to build a stock kernel since I was accepted into the Beta.
A custom kernel for Nougat would push me even closer to the already close edge that is my wallet.
This phone seriously looks attractive for the ~$160 asking price on Newegg/Amazon. Coming from a Nexus 5/Spare GS4, I'm used to really poor battery life and average performance.
I'm currently eyeing the Moto G4 and the Robin. The Robin is much more powerful, but doesn't have a replaceable battery and has a much smaller battery (technically the G4's battery isn't replaceable but it can be done fairly easily). There's also this business with Razer, which isn't too big of an issue as I normally stick with custom ROMs (and stock is getting quite a few updates in the future).
Both are in the high ~$160-200 range. Any input? If the Robin's battery is somehow replaceable that would be amazing, and I'd like an OEM supplier.

It would also be amazing to see some voltage control to control the beast of an 808.
There will be a custom kernel available in the near future for AOSP/Omni on the Robin. It is currently being tested ? and so far it's showing quite a bit of promise.
Some features it'll include are efficient hotplugging, optimized CPU governors, a new I/O scheduler and much more.. Based on Electron Kernel for the Nexus 6p by @frap129

The latest weekly build doesn't boot with Omni 7.1.2, so I'm not sure.
I believe the kernel is meant for Nextbit OS 7.0, not for custom roms. Not sure though.

I tried going back to the latest 7.1.1 build and couldn't get it to boot, so I gave up. Can you give updates in the future?
I have a custom Anker 7200 Mah battery for my S3 Neo.
Now I use Crdroid 7.1.2 and toxykernel 1.6 and works fine
I want to request if possible a custom kernel whats work better with my 7200Mah battery.
Me too
