Even when the phone is 100% charged the charging indicator (thunderbolt) never actually goes away.
I suspect this is not normal?
Just need a confirmation if this is normal guys.

You could try light glow, not all phones need to be rooted to use it, although I'm not sure if the GN does.

Using light flow with no problems. Works flawlessly unrooted

What do you mean search button?

It does this to save your battery health. Charges till almost full drops a little then slowly charges back to full. It will forget this if you unplug it and charge to full again once you plug back in. This has been discussed a ton thus the search button comment.

That's pretty standard. There's a lot of battery life threads where you can post your stats.

That's pretty good. Mine gets around the same - I always forget to check it before charging. XD

I used to always get 2hrs. Im not longer using light flow now and I think that could have been one of, if not all, the culprit to being plateaued out at 2hrs.

Yep, welcome to the club. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2404135
There are a few people who are having the same issue. And seems like you (and me included) are part of that unfortunate lot including even Nexus 4 users.
No solution in sight so far :\
I thought the note 3s usb 3.0 is supposed to charge pretty fast. My LG G2 with almost the same size mah charges really fast compared to this phone. Is this normal?

Use the cable that came with the phone and charger .Mine take just about 2.5 hours to fully charge.

I did. Maybe I'm comparing it to the g2 to much which charges in less than 2 hours.
