Call blocking - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

It looks to me that the latest version of Google Phone contains a call blocking feature, so I was surprised when I didn't see this option on the OP3 - but it looks like it's running an older version of the app and the official app isn't compatible with the OP3.
Am I missing something here? Or is there a port of the latest phone app for the OP3??

No-one know?

I noticed this yesterday as I needed to block a number. Hopefully someone will know a solution.

[Q] Help with voicemail and new ROM

For starters, HOLY HELL does this forum have the mother of all 'search ya n00b' features built in! Dang impressive!!
Second, being a long time stalker, and due to those previously mentioned features, I do not have the rights to post in the thread for this ROM. Thus I am posting my question here. I just recently installed the Incredibly Re-Engineered ROM v2.20 on my Inc. Out of all of the hacking that I have done to this poor phone, this ROM has given it the biggest improvement. However, I can't figure out how to access voicemails on it. The dev said that he fixed something with voicemails in this release but my not-so-smart-phone doesn't seem to know that.
I know that the Inc uses a native app instead of VZ's visual app and I am guessing that it's the one named Visual VM 1.13 that Titanium is telling me I am missing (but doesn't give me an option to restore). Anyone know the secret to getting this to work?
I'm not quite sure what you mean... Are you looking for a Visual Voicemail app, or are you unable to get to your voicemail at all? Have you tried dialing *86
Yeah, I could just call to get my messages but that would be too easy.
The issue is that the native app that downloads voicemails and plays them appears to be awol. When I get a voicemail VZ sends me a text stating "You have 1 unheard Visual Voice Mail messages. Please select the Visual VM icon to reinstall." However, you can't just download VZ's app because it will tell you that your phone already has an app built in for handling voicemails... except for my phone which now appears to be missing it.
Oh and before anyone asks, yes I did wipe the phone before installing the new ROM with ROM Manager.
Have you tried changing the voicemail settings to what you want to use to handle your voicemails? Menu > Settings > Call Settings
If you already have then maybe try pushing the apk through adb?
There is a flashover to 2.2 that is supposed to fix the VM indicator.
Absent that, there is also a flashable zip posted in the ROM and IncReEng. mods thread.

I did not even know about that setting. I have now set it to 'My Carrier' since I am not using Google Voice but unfortunately that didn't fix it.

I did perform that flashover. Maybe I will wait until the updated ROM is posted tonight and see if that fixes it... otherwise I might have to go hunting for the zips you are referencing.

You can click on the little paperclip next to the rom thread title and see all the .zip attachments that have been posted in the thread. This way you don't have to go searching through the whole thread to find the files you are looking for.
I just wanted to update this in case anyone else is searching for an answer to this problem.
So I did an update to v2.3 of the Re-Engineered ROM and that didn't get my voicemail back. And I actually lost some more functionality. I'm not in any way diss'n this ROM though. The issue is just that it is a seriously customized piece of art and maybe a bit overkill for a phone that needs to occasionally be a phone!
Since I tried Skyraider in the past and had some syncing issues, I decided to load up Redemptive rEVOlution this time. So far everything is running smooth and it appears that my voicemail and everything else is working as it should.
BTW, I should mention that I work in the Quality field because I have a natural gift for breaking things. So my issues may not be typical for all users.
I believe the problem you are having with VVM is because re-ingeneered is 100% evo framework. Sprint does not use VVM and therefore not coded for it.
That being said, google voice offers the same features without the added fees from Verizon.

Group Messaging via SMS in Android 4.2

It looks like the issue has been addressed in Android 4.2 on the Nexus and some people have worked on porting this updated messaging app into their ROMs. I have looked through all of the available ROMs and cannot seem to find the most recent version in them. I might be missing what I am looking for though. Does anyone know if the changes found here are available in any ROMs?:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ve.../207431-group-text-messaging-jb-achieved.html
I would even take a stock rooted rom with these changes in it if I had to. If messing around with a ROM kitchen is the answer that is fine too. I might have to go that route.

I would love to dump GOSMS hopefully this happens
The slim ROM seems to have it. Native group messaging and it seems to work. Some messages, although small seem to be slow to download. But that could just be me.

Delayed Lock

I've been using this app for over a year now and haven't experienced any issues. Recently the developer updated the app and I think I might be running into some BIG issues and wondering if anyone else is either running it just fine or having some of the same issues as I.
Currently I'm using Ditto note 3 ROM, once I install the delayed lock app and reboot I am no longer able to receive any type of data signal and I'm unable to send or receive any MMS. Once I uninstall the app I'm back up again.
I've also done some testing on Mean Rom and got the same results, if I install the app, I can't MMS.. removing it I am allowed to again.
I wonder if it's the 4.3 roms that are having the issues or if its the new version of the app that is having the issue. OR COULD IT REALLY BE MY PHONE? somehow I doubt its my phone since uninstalling the app gives me all the ability of my phone again.
The developer hasn't replied to my support ticket yet.. who knows if he will.. figured I'd reach out to the xda community and see what kind of feed back I can get.
Thanks in advance!
The app developer clearly states in his description that this device may not work properly...and also states that android 4.3 will not work with his software...
It sounds like the time to search an alternative method to delay your lock...
Have you searched the xposed module archives for a compatible method ???
It's highly likely that xposed will have a modification capable of this ...
I'll search as well...and post here if I find a solid solution...g

Camera Crash when Zooming and Recording

I noticed that this problem was relatively prevalent with the G3 and that there were a few threads a while ago, but those went unresolved.
Except for a factory reset, has anyone found a work around with this issue? I only just noticed it happening with my ATT G3 when I rooted it...
I'm not sure if that's the issue. I also replaced the regular media profiles xml file with the one that is modded, as I heard that may help, but it did not.
Is there a workaround for this?

Seriously, how can a brand new phone right out of the box have the native camera app crash indefinitely until LG and Verizon (among other carriers) roll out a patch 6-9mo later if we are lucky!?
I'm so pissed about this it isn't even remotely entertaining. Can you install 3rd party camera apps? Yes. Are they full of bloatware and not as simple and streamlined to use? Yes, usually. It is just ridiculous. I'm un-rooted and within 2 weeks this was happening. What a @##$%-show.
Can't believe this hasn't been addressed. There is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/app-xcam-lg-v5-1-0-t2873604. It didn't work for me though. Still crashes even after following the directions to a "T". Even paid for it and nothing changed. So, I got a refund.

Upon further attempt, I did get the XCam app and settings to finally work. So, the link above does actually give you the streamlined app with modifications and ability to save to SD (after purchasing the settings app, rooting, and applying the SDFix app). I must have missed a step.
Still SUCKS that the native LG app is broke.

What does that mean? What latest update? I saw your post from that link and you state v10 h...what does that mean? Maybe an OTA update from your carrier? I have Verizon, I assume we are not battling the same thing here regarding LG G3 for Verizon.

That would be the last firmware that LG released for the international version of G3 (D855). I assume that all carriers base their updates on the official updates from LG.

Ahhh, ok. So, obviously I can't get updates for this phone unless Verizon rolls that out, correct? Not like I can download something independently from LG and upgrade it right? Other than custom ROM. Which I may be closing in on. I did have good luck with the XCam app though...it uses the base LG camera app but tweaks the @#[email protected]!# out of it. It has worked nicely once I finally got it going, if anyone stumbles upon this.

All you have to do is disable OK Google Hotword detection in the Google app. You could still use the feature through Nova Launcher if you're using it but that will solve the problem. It was a huuuuuge relief for me when I found that.
"OK, Google" crashes the app!?

So, I disabled the hotword feature in the Google app under the voice settings and enabled in Nova Launcher (love this launcher btw) and lo and behold it appears that the native camera app actually indeed works again, with zoom. I haven't really used video yet.
In all fairness I haven't used the native camera app in a while and I've been using the XCam app workaround (which has been great, I almost like the interface better), so I'm not sure if this indeed worked or not. On a side-note I don't have the "Ok, Google" feature actually working from the Nova Launcher (it is enabled) but I could care less as I just go to the actual Google app and then say "Ok, Google" and it of course works from there. Thanks for the help man....

Anyway to install Verizon Visual Voicemail other than the play store version?

Rooted and flashed over to the Cyanogenmod (unofficial) release over in the Dev forum here, but I can't find an apk that will install correctly and the play store says my phone is not compatible. The Marshmallow Visual Voicemail seems to be the only thing I've found in this release that isn't working for me, too.
I'm wondering if anyone can provide an APK from their phone or something? Might just be out of luck until the dev in charge of the Note 4 Cyanogen is back or Verizon releases 6.0.1 for the Note 4. All the APKs (and a flashable zip or two) have been kinda old. Most of them would install but force close if you tried to open them.

There's some promising stuff there. Frustratingly someone claims to have it working on AOSP, like CM, but the link 404s. I'll edit this post if I find something that works in case anyone else looks here. Thank you!
Edit: Nope, none of it seemed to work; it still just FCs when I open it. Oddly, I can't uninstall the app now even after undoing the build.prop changes. Oh well, if it causes problems I can wipe and reflash later.
