No, don't do that. This can work "okay" for the firmware, flashing another variant's kernel will soft brick your device.

please don't write thanks push thanks
To be able to boot after flashing a ROM (can be any variant, but choose GSM ones, ex. D802, we are incompatible with LS/VS980), you must install a compatible kernel. In other terms, a kernel made for F320
If you installed an AOSP/CM/CAF-based Rom, use a kernel that supports that (ex. Lambda kernel)
And if you installed a stock-based ROM, use stock kernel for your device (F320)

Actually it works with all F320x. I just used F320L inside script so that the device can be properly known as LG G2.
L, S, K, they are all the same.
F320 is a name known only in non-stock world and is not in the official list of G2 variants.
Hi, i have a few (noob) questions.
If i use a mm rom, do i need to flash an mm kernel? Vice versa kitkat rom.
Do u have a list (or link) with f320(k) kernels?. Thanks in advance

If mm then use mm kernel, if kk then use kk kernel.
So it goes like this... Flash chosen ROM. Flash compatible F320 kernel then polymorph. If you forgot to flash a kernel then you'll soft brick your device
Okay, so i will try and search for an compatible kernel
how exactly this works? I own f320 version and how should I flash rom in the first place?
Can anyone explain this process? How can I use a D802 rom? I tried downloading one and installing through TWRP on my F320L. I get error that this rom is not for F320.
I am confused here about this. Please if someone can clarify It would be great.
Thanks!

You can overclock the stock only when you flash oc kernel, example: dust v9 (If you want maximum performance), htc-lycan v1.4 (between performance and battery, I use it). And to overclock to stock you must install the program, through which you can do, such as: no frills cpu. I'm not complaining, everything works beautifully nicely

Hello,
I have a Galaxy S4 Mini LTE version and installed Carbon ROM Kitkat 4.4.4 from F4k (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2642488).
Now I installed Tasker from the Playshop. I want to do a call forward with Tasker (triggered ny NFC).
when the task is started (manually of by the NFC app), Tasker claims that call forwarding was correctly done. However, call forwarding is not set up as it should, it seems that nothing actually happened with the telephone itself.
What could that be? possibly KK 4.4.4 is too restriced now?
Maby somebody has an idea, I searched and did not find a solution yet.
Cheers, Frank

Yup, it is somewhat same, except the kernel doesn't have inbuilt recovery. You can do it without PC, provided You have a working TWRP. So instead of flashing the first carbon boot.img, just do the steps after step 7.
If i do this without PC my phone wouldnt have a inbuilt kernel recovery? And in reverse ?
This option is really important ? Steps 1-7 are for people who have blocked bootloader and they install software with cwm or twrp yea :3?
This CM 12 is final version not beta ?

If You had flashed the recovery to fotakernel (i.e. by process similar to this method) then You will retain Your recovery. The CM12 ROM kernel doesn't have inbuilt recovery.
Steps 1 to 7 are for people who don't have recovery.
All the steps require unlocked bootloader. You cannot install Kitkat or Lollipop ROM's on locked bootloader on Xperia S.
Current CM12 version is beta, there won't be a final version, as even CM is under development, Our device is not supported officially and new feature are always introduced.
Also, once You unlock bootloader, there is no need to unlock it again, even if You flash the stock firmware.
Thread starter asked for a stable rom. CM12 has a long way to go before being stable.

safety net will not pass with xposed, that's the problem.
not big much of a deal with animation.
but don't know why i now like lineage better than stock.
I also have stock 7.0 and I tried 88 and 88.1 and didn't work. I think it's something about the stock kernel. I've heard. maybe flashing to a different kernel might work. Exposed works on custom ROMs. I have Chinese stock ROM. Does anyone know how to actually flash the kernel? via twrp or fastboot? I downloaded the zip file and don't see a boot.img file.

bootimg(no extension) is in the tools folder. Just flash it via twrp. But I do not know if it will solve your problem.

someone told me to use TWRP the zip folder and I did. I still couldn't install exposed. Oh well. What to do with the magma kernel? just let it be? i see and read many cool things people do with magma but no one actually shares how or what to do to make the most of this custom kernel. I guess i'll just let it be.
