Hi,
got my OP3 yesterday and already upgraded to OxygenOS 3.2.4. Works great, only issue I have is the very low microphone volume when recording WhatsApp Voicenotes, I have to turn up the volume of the speakers to the max to even understand it at all, which is a bit weird. Even when I directly talk into the microphone at the bottom of the phone besides the headphone jack, it is still very quiet.
Is there a fix for this? Anyone else experienced this? I only found a fix for the video recording microphone quality, but I don't think that that will affect WhatsApp Voicenotes, right?

+1. The OnePlus 3 has very low volume WhatsApp voice note recordings, and when you use headphones to record it's louder but there's a constant jack noise that's kinda annoying

The microphone volume is very low on my dhd, people can barely hear me when I call them. The sound is also low when I use a voice recording app. When I plug in an external mic the sound is fine though.
I've been looking for a solution for this for a while, does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm running MIUI 1.5.20, but I had issues when I was using the stock ROM.
Yes i have this problem, often people complain they can't hear me any good.
However if i turn the phone with backside towards me they can hear fine so i guess it's a design fault that they place the microphone at the back, why?
Did anything ever come of this? It's just that I am experiencing the exact same issue

Hi,
I've installed successfully the CM11 but now I have some problemi during calls, audio messages with whatsapp and I don't know why.
The problem is that the volume of the microphone is too low so people can't hear me fine, the sounds of my voice is maffled and far away althought i'm speaking in front of the microphone.
Is it possible to solve this problem? Should I have to flash the Official Firmware (Samsunng 4.4.4 I mean).
Thanks!
Has anyone else noticed that while you're on a phone call. If you place the caller on speakerphone... The callers voice sounds at what you might expect to be 30%-50% of the volume (even after raising speakerphone volume to 100%), the callers voice volume on speakerphone just doesn't sound loud at all, not even at 100% volume.
Is there a fix for this?
Is Google aware?
If anyone can share their thoughts about this, please do.
Had this exact same thought. Haven't yet tested on the November update.

It's the same on Nov. I rooted and installed Viper. Enabled xLoud on Phone Speaker and it's better. Can't understand why Google didn't enable both speakers for phone calls, like they did for media.
It's probably because only the bottom speaker is firing so it's literally half the volume you would expect.

I have the same problem with volume on speaker phone calls. I don't like the idea of a new driver (Viper) that requires root.
Are there any other solutions?
Bump for an issue I've noticed now that i use the speakerphone
Hi all.
I have a weird issue with Lineage 14.1 and Google Duo.
As per title really. I can make video calls but the other person can't hear me.
The mic works in other programs such as Whatsapp or the voice recorder, though the mic is a bit quiet. In Whatsapp the audio from me can be a bit intermittent and loud, then quiet.
Anyone else have this issue, or know of a solution?
If it is a ROM issue, can anyone recommend a good stable ROM with decent battery life?
Thanks!

Did you ever get this fixed? I have this issue currently
Microphone works just fine in recordings app but during calls, the sound is very dim and unclear
People complain that the sound is unclear so I recorded a test call using Automatic Call Recorder app and found that the sound was very dim
but it is perfectly fine in stock recorder app
Is this software issue? How to fix it?
PS I used stock rom and had recently factory reset the phone
Have you tried cleaning the small microphone at the bottom of your phone? It's likely blocked by some dust. There is another microphone at your phone which is problem used for voice recordings, hence the difference in sound
