Not quite done yet, I still need to stain the walnut to match the rosewood and put a sealant on it all.
But I figured I would share it with you all.
Took about 2 hours to make in my woodshop, half of that time was deciding how to route the wire for the watch charger.

As my charger turns on only at the night by timer, I needed stand, that hold watch on charging pins 100%. Took LG G Watch stand 3D print files from net, remoddeled the holder part for Huawei, and got such thing.

I bought the phone the day it was avail from tmobile, after I ripped off the flap I wanted to know what that hole next to the usb port was for....
Today I figured it out!
A hook.
I hope the pics explain it all:

hmm i can't see that being used by to many people. what would you hook it too, you're just asking for you phone to be smacked and scraped by keys or flying into something.

That's genius dude!
Was playing around with an IR-thermal camera at work while my Desire was on charging. So next logical thing happened: I took a few pictures and thought of sharing them with you
(i just noticed that Date on images is wrong. This is because camera was set up wrong)
First up, front view. Using CM7 with LauncherPro atm.

Display (AMOLED) off
Back view. Note that i use a silicon cover that covers entire back, minus a small rectangular area around the usb port. Apparently this cover shields much of IR.
And finally, my rather cold coffee because i was too busy taking pictures of my phone
wow, very interesting, there would be much more red spots on my desire lol
Use a suction cup and a piece of object that is just enough to fit through the hole for it, you get a kick stand for cheap
Works in portrait and landscape of course!

Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
You make my day, terrific!
Awesome
Awesome idea haha thanks
So i made one of these to use and then just the other night i was at bad bath and beyond and they had something really similar to it for $0.99 ROFL
That, is ingenious! :highfive:
amazing li'l hack. S**w those $20 cases..
I found this earlier today. It is inexpensive and appears to be well made.

No clue as to which version of the Galaxy Nexus this fits. I just figured I would share what I found.

Wow, that looks nice.
Reminds me of the cases for the old Palms and Visors.
I bought one of those when they first hit. As the picture shows the two halves close together via a side hinge and are secured by a large tab on the other side. The white background of the pics and close up of the tab don't do it justice. It stinks. The tab always got hung up on everything. Clothes, chairs, curtains, other people, bakcpack straps. It was horrible. While it looks good in pictures it felt cheap and flimsy. I stopped using it.
So, I got bored of waiting for a wireless charging dock and took matters into my own hand. Used:
Nokia DT-900 wireless charger
3 sheets of cardstock
Glue
It doesn't looks too shabby:

Holds the Nexus 7 well:
Side piece can be pulled to the side....
So the Charging pad can be removed/replaced if need be.
Can't wait to get a case in and test it with one on
I should have been more detailed in starting, only the supports were planned out, the rest was done on the fly, but I might try making a blueprint of it in a few days if it stands up so others can make one and just modify the charging port for other Qi chargers.
