Bootloop help, flashing question. - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just a quick one really, D855 stuck in a bootloop triggered i think from the battery. I can get into download mode, so my big question is if i flash a custom Rom eg, CM could this cure the issue or is it more likely a hardware problem. The battery swelled right up and caused the screen to bulge [emoji20] so just after opinions and pointers. Any helps good help, cheers.

hello, one of the causes of bootlooping is due to a deffective battery. have you already gotten another battery? I suggest you read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089

[Q] Ota Update

Hi to all,
i have a Lg O.G from the UK and i'm in Croatia, the OTA feature does not work, it says that the phone is not registred.
Now I know why it does that, but I don't know which firmware i can flash to gain OTA.
Some info:
Baseband version: APQ8064/MDM9x15M
Build Number: JZO54K
Software version: E97510d-466-92
The Optimus g croatian version has this software version: E97510d-EUR-XX
My question is, can someone tell my if I can flash croatian firmware over the uk one, and if yes where can i find it.
The phone is an unlocked unbranded model from UK.
I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320817 and it has 2 Eu KDZ one open and one common, i have the 10d what if i try the common one??
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Goran
I've flashed this onehttp://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGE975/ANEUBL/E97510D_00/E97510D_00.kdz a couple weeks ago. I'm very happy with it.

What country/carrier are you on?

Serbia, Telenor. My phone is from Taiwan, Chungwa telecom. It changed timezone on every reboot back to GMT +8. After flashing to EU common ROM I have no issues whatsoever.

Well thats a good news, thanks for the replay, I will try it today, hope it pass all ok, 'cause this is my first LG phone and I'm not used to falsh this device.
Jegor..
can you in short explain how did you updated your phone, I have tried but nothing. Downloaded the kdz file, installed the drivers for lg, downloaded the KDZ Updater, put the phone in download mode, opened the updater (now I'm not sure which one I should use the KDZ_SW_UPD or UP_textEX_mod2) I have used the second, loaded the kdz file, selected 3GQCT and phone mode CS_Emergency.
It goes until DSP i think 95 the it reboots into the phone normaly and then nothing...
Used KDZ_SW_UPD with the same result.
Can you help me??
Thanks!
I've followed these instructions. As you can see they are for LG Optimus 4X HD but the procedure is the same. There are a few steps that I don't see you've mentioned. And there is an inevitable hard reset in the end, but even without it you should be able to boot up your LGOG.
Good luck.

Did you turn on USB debugging in Developer options?
No I did not...if the phone is in download mode why it needs usb debugging??
Sent from my LG-E975 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

done that with LG UP... flashed different kinds of KDZs, no luck! Blame LG on their defective motherboard because my was manufactured in the month of May, I think G4s from October (month of manufacture) are safe from boot loop.
No one is going to chastise this guy for plotting to sell his broken phone to some poor sap? What a jackass. I hope you get hit by a camel.
Your bad luck bro. ?

New motherboard - how to root?

How to root d855 with replaced motherboard?
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
soft? you need downgrade to 30c and kingroot ;]
Yeah, and brick it...
Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
New motherboard or not, its gonna be the same process. Look it up based on what your current firmware version is. Some newer firmwares are unrootable, in which case flashing the older firmware is the only way to achieve root.
Sorry but it is not like that. If you have new motherboard the process is a bit different
