LEAGOO T1 is here to challenge the OPPO F1
Oppo may have built a good reputation when it comes to design and build quality, but spec-wise it lacks the components to justify its price tags on most of the devices it makes. And LEAGOO is targeting OPPO F1 with its own LEAGOO T1.
The LEAGOO T1 ties the game in every other aspect and takes the lead in some of them. Both devices carry a 5″ 720p display, quad-core SoC *and same camera sensor sizes but the T1 has LED flash on both the back and front. Oppo advertises that the F1 is made of metal, but that is not the whole truth. Oppo F1 has a 65% metal body where LEAGOO T1 has an 85% metal body. Add to that the fingerprint sensor that has become almost essential on today’s smartphones and you can see the clear precedence of the T1. Oh, LEAGOO reveals that the T1 also has smaller bezels.
Software upgrades is another sector where Oppo has some problems and the T1 has an advantage. It comes with Android 6 out-of-the-box whereas the F1 is still stuck on Android 5.1.
Well, that's all we got about the T1 for now.
Official Specs, Stylish Selfie Smartphone
LEAGOO debuted the T1 smartphone to take on Oppo F1 launched by rival brand Oppo. Letâ??s take a quick look at the features and specifications of this smartphone.
The T1 runs on LEAGOO OS 2.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and features a 5.0-inch 720P 2.5D curved glass display. Its body makes use of 85% of metal in its manufacturing which is more than 65% on Oppo F1. It is also powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core chipset aided by 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Furthermore, it supports storage expansion up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot.
As regards the camera sensors, it features a 13MP rear shooter in addition to an 8MP front facing shooter with Smart Selfie 2.0. In order to take an upper hand on the Oppo F1, it comes equipped with LED flash at both sides, front and rear. This smartphone houses a fingerprint sensor on the back just below the camera for added security. It supports 4G LTE and all the usual connectivity features. It is fueled by a 2400mAh battery which is kind of a little bit disappointing considering other specs of this smartphone, but they might have been forced to use this small battery in order to keep it the most slim possible.
They have not revealed the price yet but leaks say it will be around $110. Considering leaked price of this smartphone, the specs are pretty good.

LEAGOO T10 – Everything You Need To Know Before its Release!
At last, Leagoo top-notch is just warming up for it’s release as the company’s first high-en! phone.
We have seen Leagoo providing smartphones around the globe, whether it’s a rugged or non-rugged, plastic or metal. So what’s next for Leagoo? What’s missing? Well, we have never seen Leagoo competing in the high-end section. But, soon the dream of the enthusiasts will turn into reality as the manufacturer is looking forward to stepping in the intense top-tier section with the upcoming release of Leagoo T10.
Leagoo T10 – The Details You Need to Know
Leagoo has been generous to the audience regarding hardware and features. The examples are in front*of like M5 Plus, T1 and now T10. Like we said previously, Leagoo T10 is the company’s first attempt to forge a top-end beast and that’s why it’s Leagoo’s backbone and the ultimate flagship of the year 2016.
Design & Appearance
Leagoo T10 seems to be the*younger brother of T1, as not only the names accord but also the designs*are somewhat similar. For a much premium experience, Leagoo T10 forged from metal and in fact has an*all*Metal Unibody*layout.
The only change in the appearance of T10 from T1 is the shifting of LED flash from the center to an upgraded dual LED flash to the top left. Plus, T10 is 1mm thicker than T1 because of the hardware and battery.
Hardware &*Configuration
Even though Leagoo T10 is identical to T1 (in design and appearance) that doesn’t mean the configuration will be the same. What’s under the hood is truly incredible and the principal selling point of the terminal. We experience the presence of Helio X20, a deca-core processor*as the heart of flagship beating at the frequency of*2.0GHz. The name ‘T10’ matches the 10 cores and tri-cluster design of Helio X20 perfectly. It is further accompanied by 4GB RAM*and*32GB*internal storage with the expandable option via Micro-SD card (up to*128GB). The phone*cherishes with the*Dual SIM*support along*4G+*network support.
What’s more interesting is that Leagoo has broken the tradition of introducing standard 5.5-inch HD screens in its smartphones, as we have a stunning 5.7-inch screen with Full-HD resolution. The rear camera remains the same with*13MP (Samsung Sensor, 5P lens)*with PDAF. Meanwhile, the front one has been upgraded to*13 MP (Sony Sensor, AF PDAF, 4P lens)*from 8MP when compared to its ancestor.
There are some untouched features as well including the*rear fingerprint reader with a response time of 0.19 secs (Fingerprint ID 3.0), Smart gestures,*Gyroscope. The T10 smartphone runs on*Leagoo 2.1 OS*based on Android 6.0. At last, a*massive 3500 mAh*Li-Polymer, non-removable battery powers the flagship and charges in almost no time with the*USB Type-C 2.0 interface.
Release Date & Price
A fixed date has not been announced for the launch of Leagoo T10. But, the manufacturer hints that T10 smartphone is expected to hit the market in late November or in December. The price is also not officially stated, but it will probably be lower than $200 with those high-end specs. All we can do is wait till its release.

REVIEW
Review of Leagoo M8
DESIGN
The new LEAGOO M8 comes with a 5.7″ display, 2.5D IPS screen with 1280 x 720 screen resolution (HD) and Gorilla Glass 4 to protect it. The M8 comes in three cool color variants namely, Titanium gray, Galaxy Silver and Champagne Gold.
HARDWARE
The hardware is similar to the M5, so under the hood we will find the well known Quad Core MTK6580A clocked at 1.3GHz. With the SoC, the M8 has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD.
FEATURES
In the camera department, there are a F2.2 13MP on the back with AF and LED flash. The front camera hosts an F2.0 8MP sensor. Under the rear camera, there is the 0.19s fast fingerprint reader. In addition, the Leagoo M8 comes with Freeme OS 6.0, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Lastly, the M8 adopts Awinic K7 chip which features Hi-Fi standard sound and Box Speaker to elevate your listening to music experience. 8 MP (SW 13 MP) main camera 5 MP + (SW 8 MP) front camera. Supports Dual SIM and supports only 2 G & 3 G network.
BATTERY
The Leagoo M8 comes with a 3.500mAh battery. The big batter, with the low-power MTK6580A SoC in combination with the 720p resolution, should give an excellent performance and more than one dasy of normal use.
CONCLUSION
The Leagoo M8, the new creation of Leagoo, comes with some good specs. For sure the battery will last for about two days.
Cheapest smartphone
Leagoo M8 have many reason to buy, like a cheapest, bigger screen, huge memory, great battery capacity and Excellent camera.
Looks great!!! Also the Leagoo M8 Pro just got released so might be interesting how that one performs and how much better it really is.

On the front, it gets a 5.5 inch HD display with 720*1280 resolution, the screen is also 2.5D curved. On the back, it removes the fingerprint scanner, unlike the U7 Plus, and adopts the same type of poly-carbonated battery cover.
For the hardware, it carries an MT6580A chipset with quad-core 1.3GHz processor. It gets 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM with 32GB expandable memory. For the camera, it will get a 5MP front facing camera with a 13MP rear camera.

Unboxing
The device comes with a rich accessories set, probably the most complete i have ever seen for a rugged smartphone with a pair of 3.5mm in-ear earphones since, as you may expect, this device comes with a 3.5mm Headphone Jack, a Glass Screen Protector, a Micro-USB to USB A cable, a red Micro-USB Cable and the usual standard 5V/2A USB Charger. No Quick Charge or Mediatek Pump Express is there.
Build Quality and Design
From a materials prospective, the device feels really solid and it is slim enough to be handled quite easily. The only downside i need to report is the SIM-Card Slot, it doesn't look completely flat when closed, probably due to the extra layer of insulation. Still, not having to deal with SIM-Card Tool is handy.
There does not seem to be any issue with third-party cables or headphones since both Micro-USB and 3.5mm Headphone Jack connectors are well-designed. Unfortunately there is no Type-C port.
What makes me mad about this device is the buttons layout. Why would you have the power button on the left side and a camera button on the right side? It is really confusing and out from any standard.
Connectivity and Software
Software-wise the device is actually well-made. It is not 100% stock Android but there are some really interesting and, in my opinion, useful features (no bloatware) that do not impact the experience. This type of customization comes at a cost though, old Security Patches, stuck at October 2018 and no OTA Updates are available yet (last check: 22th of Feb 2019).
The OS is certified and all hardware features seem to be properly recognized.
Wi-Fi Performance is also decent, the device is able to use my internet bandwidth completely with the 5.0GHz Network (802.11n only on this device).
Nothing to complain about its performance, it is really usable considering the low-end quad-core chipset. Here you can see some benchmarks.
Camera
Here you can see some samples shot using the primary rear camera, nothing special as expected, probably also interpolated but i can't be certain since the OS is able to hide all details about the camera sensor model.
Battery
Battery Life is not superb considering the 4000mAh battery (measured ~3910mAh) but this is probably due to the not so power-friendly chipset. An Helio P22 would have been ideal for this device.
Conclusions
Surely enough this is not a perfect smartphone but, considering the previous ones i have seen and/or reviewed, this is the most balanced i have ever reviewed. As long as the lack of a Type-C port + the inverted buttons layout does not bother you, i can easily recommend this device.
NOTE: Be careful with MT6739 devices! Just like what happened with the MT6737 chipset (using MT6737M instead of MT6737), some vendors are using the slowest MT6739 with a max CPU frequency of 1248MHz while others, like the one mentioned in this review, use the better model that goes up to 1495MHz. The difference is really noticeable (also the GPU is downclocked on the worse model) so please make sure to check some real-world screenshots before choosing a device with this chipset.

Review
Unboxing
After the good old X18 series (X18 and X18 Plus), CUBOT is back with a successor that seems to fill the gaps found on the previous gen. As usual, the device comes with a standard set of accessories: 1x 5V/2A Charger, 1x Type-C Cable, 1x SIM-Card Tray removal tool, 1x "Smoked" TPU Case and some paperwork.
Following the 2019 trend, also the X19 comes with gradient back plastic cover (non-removable) that, as you might expect, is able to create some nice (depending on your tastes) light effects. Still, since it is made of plastic, the result is not excellent.
Even though it is made of plastic, the device feels solid and there are no visible imperfections. For some unknown reasons, my unit is a dust magnet.
Thankfully the X19, even though it comes with a Type-C port, doesn't lack an Headphone Jack. Well Done CUBOT for not following bad marketing trends. The Type-C port is standard and doesn't require special/modified cables.
A Notification LED is here (located near the earpiece), and can be enabled/disabled from the settings menu.
Software
Software-wise the X19 is slightly disappointing to be honest. Unlike previous CUBOT devices, this one has been released with old Android Security Patches (October 2018), even after an OTA Update.
There is no bloatware preinstalled except a CUBOT S1 companion app that can be uninstalled, and the device runs really smooth with no noticeable bugs.
All sensors are there and properly recognized, but there is no NFC.
Benchmarks
Camera
The camera department is decent, with an OmniVision OV16880 sensor for the rear camera and an IMX219 for the front camera. Nothing to complain about the result, it fits in the area where other Mediatek smartphones are located, with the usual amount of noise and acceptable photo quality if some manual adjustments are made (like ISO 100).
Wi-Fi and 4G
As regards the Connectivity, the X19 comes with 802.11n Dual Band Wi-Fi and Dual 4G support. Signal reception is as good as it should be.
Battery Life
Battery Life is impressive, but i will post my results later since i am trying to measure the battery capacity properly in the long-term.
Results posted here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79039259&postcount=3
Conclusions
The X19 is a great upgrade from the X18 series, it only lacks NFC and Wireless Charging to be declared as one of the most complete Helio P23 powered devices ever reviewed. Maybe with the X19 Plus this is going to change, let's hope so.
Do i recommend this device? Yes, but if CUBOT doesn't update the security patches in the upcoming weeks i will be forced to change my idea.

Battery Life
Finally, the battery results. It does seem to hold up perfectly considering the declared battery capacity.
Hi Alberto. Any news about security patches? Many thanks
Leonardo from Italy
How do you get into full menu and settings?
Hi Alberto,
Nice review. I have just bought one of these as a present, and cannot figure out how to get into a functioning settings menu! My home screen has only 7 buttons, not including a menu button. Then when I hit google, and google again, and then do 'more' I do get a sort of very restricted settings menu. When I finally get to hit 'About' all it gives me is the version, which is 9.31.8.21.arm64. There is no build number, and when I search settings for build number nothing is found. There are also no controls of applications, it seems like there is no way of changing brightness, there is no way of changing the google assistant...
Am I missing something obvious and being stupid? This is my first Android phone. But I have several Android tablets and they all worked fine, allowed me to get proper settings panels, and to (for instance) use F-Droid.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is there, by the way, any version of Lineage that is safe to install on this? Or any other ROM you would recommend? And can you advise what to use to root it, if you think that will help?
Pierre
