Total silence - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hi is there any way to get total silence to work better with the slider ? My phone is coming out of silence with the slider all the way up.. and that's not what I want. I think it should be silent no matter what when the slider is positioned properly. Or is this one of the bugs that will have to be worked out
I am using cm 13

How to tweak light brightness down even further even lower on the S3?

My screen dim level is at 1 and my phone is still too bright. How could I reduce this even further so that sliding my brightness toggle in the notifications bar all the way to low will reduce the brightness even further? Is there not an option or a mod that allows you to pretty much dim your screen to complete darkness?

I see screen filter, the only problem I have with it is its persistent notification. As far as I can see there's no way to remove it. If I could get rid of the persistent notification I would set it to boot with tasker.
Suggestions to remove from notification?
Try lux auto brightness not sure if it has persistent notification or not.

I know about lux too, but it's not what I need.
Is there a way to lower the brightness set by the kernel or is this unchangeable?
Download screen calibrator and it works like a charm, you can also remove the icon from the status bar
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I looked into this too, I believe the only option is screen filter or anything like it.. which makes no sense to me.
Lower brightness = better for eyes+battery

Yeah I actually prefer the dropdown notification built into AOKP roms for brightness, but the lowest brightness is too bright. In a room with lights off, reading the amazon kindle before bed is pretty discomforting if you're trying to ease into sleep. Way too bright.
Apparently the only way to do it unless the screen filter author comes up with a way to get rid of that persistent notification/load on startup is to kernel hack, and personally for someone who isn't a developer/programmer, I wouldn't touch an opensource code with a stick
I have the same problem. The lowest brightness is still too high to read something with the lights off.
Hey, I think I actually found something.. do you have cm10? If you do, you can turn on screen filter normally then go to settings > apps > screen filter and uncheck "show notifications". That took away the persistent notification for me.
I don't know if you can do this in aopk.
i have a great solution (with a notification-so i will try your suggestion 386 once my rom is done backing up), but want to make my own personalized "build (apps, tweaks etc) thread". Where can I make it without getting slapped by the mods? In the galaxy s3 general thread or since most of it is can be done on different android phones in the the overall general thread?

Can I get these features on stock ROM?

So I got a OP3 recently and coming from OPO CM13 had some features that didn't work like I wanted or didn't have options in the stock ROM so I installed sultanxda's wonderful OP3 ROM. What I did not realize was that the camera software is a lot worse than what the stock ROM offers, so I was thinking of going back to that if I can get the following things working in some other way:
Notification light color per app. I used Light Flow for this back in the day, is it still a good choice or is there something better?
Disable the stupid charging lights. I'd rather not have the room light up at night just because my phone is charging.
Change DPI to 440 so I can fit more stuff on screen.
Rearrange on-screen buttons. I like the back button in the center. Not a big priority, just nice to have.
Adjust vibration intensity.

I can hopefully solve some for you:
* Charging light can be disabled if you turn off the led, and use some third party app for the notifications.
* You can swipe back and recents but can replace home button with back button unless u use xposed
* Vibration intensity can be increased by using a custom kernel tuning app like Boeffla app // EX Kernel manager app etc
install xposed framework with gravity box and vibration tuner module

Is it possible to download Samsung Clock without rooting OP5T?

I am a former Samsung S7 user and I really like the alarm clock where I could set individual volumes for each alarm. I could adjust the volume from within the alarm/clock app, and set multiple alarms for the next day, with each alarm having a different volume. Example a loud alarm to wake me up, and a quieter one during the day to remind me of a meeting.
Can I download the Samsung clock onto the op5T without rooting the phone. Also any instructions on how to do it would be most helpful. I found something on APKMirror but not sure which one to download and how to make it work on my phone.
Thank you!

notification slider mods?

Are there any existing mods for the 5t notification slider? Preferably something to change it all together like screen brightness : normal >adaptive>night?
I personally find the ringtone volume settings useless, as I keep it on medium volume. But I do change work shifts monthly and it makes setting a screen brightness schedule more of a task.

Question Brightness toggle location

Is it possible to bring down the brightness toggle so it can be reached with one hand without root? I use auto brightness but sometimes have to adjust it manually as it's not very accurate all the time.
As a work around I switch on one handed mode and move it this way which is a bit awkward.
Super staus bar is working for me until (hopefully) Gravitybox comes out for A12.

Almost certain not what you want, and definite overkill, but you could use Bottom Status Bar and only enable the brightness slider (and not the literal bottom status bar). The downside is that, unlike the native brightness slider, changing the brightness through Bottom Status Bar turns Auto brightness off. You could enable the brightness slider in it, and a Auto-Brightness toggle switch, but then you'd have to get used to manually turning auto-brightness back on. There are probably more complex things you could do with automation apps (Tasker, etc) but that would likely require root where Bottom Status Bar doesn't for these purposes. The good side is at least the brightness slider would be very available from the bottom of the screen. I hope a stock ADB and/or root solution comes eventually for the stock ROM. There's not too often a time I want to change it manually, but having to slide down twice to get to it is crazy.
Edit: @westhaking beat me. Super Status Bar is by the same author as Bottom Status Bar, but I don't remember what one has that the other doesn't, so perhaps go by his recommendation first unless you like the idea of BSB better, or SSB doesn't quite do it for you.
Just a guess that SSB probably has the same weakness I found in BSB, that using its brightness slider abilities disables automatic brightness.
BSB works quite well, thank you. Did not know about its existence. You are right, it switches off automatic brightness but it can be switched back again in BSB near brightness toggle. Can be good as a temporary solution.
Another workaround is an accessibility shortcut which is an eye sore but can be also used for switching volume and screen off.

Nice! I didn't expect it can be achieved without root and GravityBox and was looking for the solution for a long time. Thank you so much for bringing this app to my attention. Adjusting brightness by dragging along status bar is awesome!

Awesome, glad you found a temporary workaround. Here's hoping there'll be a better permanent solution for us all, eventually. I wish I was a real Dev. I can only repackage stuff...sometimes. I just don't have the patience to learn enough to be a Dev.

I just swipe down from the top twice and the brightness slider is there.

I guess you can't reach the top of the screen in one handed mode.
Perplexed how nobody at Google development realised what an utterly stupid place the brightness bar is.
