Hi I just bought a LG D855,
It's currently running the old KitKat right outta he box. Build Number: KVT49L, Software Version: V10n-GLOBAL-COM
The phone is missing the Update Center and thus I don't get any OTAs, I've decided to flash a custom MM for the phone. However while I try to flash TWRP via Flashify, it reboots into Fastboot and I see no sign of TWRP. Is there a specific TWRP I have to flash for KitKat?
Also, should I first update to LL and then to MM? I'd like to use any custom MM rom close to stock there is.
Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Kind sirs, pray link me to the ROM that's closest to stock for any suggestions you may have personally. :highfive:
Thank you so much in advance.:victory:

Now that you've asked to check if it's D850 or D855, please check the image attached. IMEI sticker says D855, so does IMEI Checker but I can see D850 written on the sides by the camera. Can you please confirm?

I am wanting to root, add TWRP or whatever recovery, and install the CM12 ROM (or if there is something better you could suggest). The phone is currently running android version 5.0 as shown in the screenshot.
What is the best way to do this? I have been looking around and haven't found any for sure way of doing this.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Thanks you very much, I have cyanogenmod and twrp installed and it's working perfectly. I was wondering if there is anyway to get the original camera app from the stock ROM, I have tried a bunch of other ones and they don't seem to be nearly as good.

Ok so heres the firmware i recommend. Since you are located in the Middle East you can flash the firmware from UAE
KitKat KDZ: http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW390906432109876543213/D85510l_00.kdz
Follow the KDZ Downgrade Guide on this page in accordance with the firmware that i provided you above
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
Once youve downgraded to KitKat and the phone fully boots
Root with PurpleDrake: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/root-root-lg-g3-easily-purpledrake-lite-t2821000
Install SuperSU from Play Store

I used the LG flash tool an flashed 4.4.2.
I then Rooted with Purple drake.
Installed the CWM app to install recovery, then flashed Android Now HD
all working perfectly now.
I was on Validus latest version 20B bootstack and was having issues ,so I decided to unroot back to stock to start from a clean slate. Meanwhile, a friend trying to help installed 10r instead of 10c as I had asked him to do . I have no data and after doing some reading this is an issue with downgrading to 10r.Also there is something having to do with twrp and losing recovery mode. Now I have a phone with no data or fastboot mode. I've tried the adb/fastboot route to no aval. I'm not really versed in this method. I have the d851 model in white. I really need some help! Thanks in advance. :crying::crying:

So use this to root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...lipop-t3056951
Then go to TWRP's official site and download the d851 latest twrp.img. Put that on your external SD card. Install flashify and install TWRP with the .img you just download. This should give you root and twrp back on your phone in less then 10 minutes depending on internet connection. From there you can do what ever you want, but probably should stick to Lollipop roms since going back to KK will have connection issues.

It looks like you flashed a ROM for the t805 not the t705.
First let's get you back to stock.
Download the firmware for your device from the link below.
Follow the instructions to install it. This will get you up and running again.

lg has a locked bootloader, you can't just flash any recovery just because you have root.
i can link you the page where i explain the process but i'm not sure if you have to do something different if you've already tried to flash a recovery, you might want to check on that before you do this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/d852-d852-adding-stable-roms-mods-t2983476
that is an old link from a while ago so you also may want to double check the process still works on newer firmware.
err wait is d855 the model that comes unlocked? another thing to check is if you flashed the right recovery and not one for another model or something.

You flashed wrong recovery img. Because may be your board is not d855.it might be some other like d850. To make sure.Open your phone and see it on the board. Then flash the correct recovery of your model.

OMG thanks, you guys! I was scammed though saying it was a D855. Howecer I have TWRP now. Please tell me how do I flash any MM custom rom that's close to stock. Should I flash a LL rom first? Also are there vendor images to be flashed for MM?

So far,Fulmics is the best Custom Rom I have faced. If you have d850,MM stock is not yet leaked to flashed.
But d851 and d855 MM Stock Roms are everywhere in this forum to flash.

No , you don't need to flash LL first. Just root your mobile .install twrp and flash the fulmics. Easy.

Thanks for the suggestion buddy. I'm gonna go ahead with your suggestion and flash Fulmics. Any idea how I could get the LTE working in India/Pak/Ban on the D850? I'm able to get 2G and 3G up and running though.
You've been very thorough. Thanks for your help!:victory:

I bet the phone you are using is not D855 running on kitkat v10n. The phone shows D855 because it is the D855 based rom.. Actually your phone is different model. Just approach any mobile repair centre and ask him to open the phone to check the motherboard. After opening at top right, u can see the model number of the phone. So better dnt mess with ur phone till u find the correct model number because ur phone may end up in hard brick. So after finding the correct model number, u can follow same old procedure to install TWRP and enjoy flashing roms. Sorry for late reply. If u need any other help, PM me bro

Hey, thanks a lot for your help bro. Your posts helped me a lot. Only after reading that the Fastboot error shows up if a wrong TWRP is flashed is when it knocked me that this phone must have a different board and, holy Moly, turns out to be D850, I then flashed the TWRP for that and it's cool now. Please let me know if you know if there's a way to get LTE working here in India, bud. Cherrs. Thanks a ton for your help.:highfive:

I am glad you got your phone alive. Never checked LTE on fulmics but d850 bands do function in Asia. I had LTE working on KitKat and I am sure LTE will also on Fulmics.
