My battery drains kind of fast, I'm talking about less then 12 hours on daily basic use (calls, facebook, whatsapp ETC). with not a lot at all of SOT.
anyone has an idea why this is happening?
It is almost impossible to determine what is using your battery based on virtually zero information...
In almost all battery draining cases, it is down to an app or wakelock. You have to work out what it is, and troubleshoot. Repeat this process for all future phone / rom / kernel combinations
- Are you rooted with any other mods?
- On the basic battery info screen, are there any strange apps?
- Checked for wakelocks using an app like GSAM or betterbatterystats?
If you're not rooted, check the battery stats and see if your phone is staying awake constantly. Also see what apps have the biggest "keep awake"time

Ok, so I've been dealing with this issue for a few months now, seems software related because it will go away when I flash a new rom, but then come back eventually.
I use Battery Monitor Widget to see my current charge/drain status in mA (only widget I've seen that does so), and even plugged in, the battery is draining (USB or AC). Looking at my battery usage this morning it was something like 5.5 hours on battery, with 70% coming from screen, which had only an on time of 50min. I had it plugged into USB (no AC adapter here at work) and was watching the battery drain a percent every 30-40sec, with a usage of -900mA. I can't for the life of me fathom what could be drawing an amp on a phone that's just been sitting doing nothing all day.
I don't understand the wakelocks, partial wakelocks, alarms, etc that most of the battery threads are talking about - I know I need to install Better Battery Stats to get at them. But how do I track what's using all this juice?
Thanks!
What ROM are you on currently?

Currently running Touched by S4 2.1. Same issue on Blue Kuban, PA, PACman, and a couple others. Again, starts days or weeks after. Today, even after a restart, it kept draining, even on the USB charger. But I turned it off, let it charge to about half while off, turned it on, and it continued to charge. Its haunted I tell ya.

I would install Better Battery Stats fully charge your phone and then check the app when the battery is low. You can check all the options. Other, Kernel Wakelock, Partial, Alarms, What you should see is a time of how long each app/process has had a wakelock. For alarms it will show you how long each app has woken up the phone. You want to look at the items that show the most time usage and most wakeups. If the name is not recognizable you should Google it. Sometimes it could be messaging or social apps keeping your phone awake or anything else. If you need help you can post screenshots of your results.
The app has little question marks you can click on to get explanations for some things. Partial wakelocks is the first place to look, imo.
Hey, about 2 weeks ago I noticed weird behavior from my battery.
When phone is locked battery drain is too fast.
It seems that the "android system" keep the phone awake for long periods,
And that the "android os" keep using the cpu.
I've been trying many thing - wifi, location, sync etc but nothing helped.
Used system panel to monitor my battery life,
Here are the results from the last 8 hours (100% at morning till now)
Attached photos - Overall battery usage, Screen on, Android System, Android OS, System Panel and More detailed system processes,
In the first 3 system processes there is high cpu usage even when screen is off..
(Top one, System, attached)
I know the overall battery using seems to be good,
But it's only because I've been using the phone the whole day.
The problem is when I'm not using it - it drain very fast with no reason.
I don't remember any change I've done (didn't update the software, maybe an app),
And before that the battery life was great (and so they are now if I'm using the phone continuously without "putting it in my pocket".)
Any help?
I have a brand new lg g3 d855 successfully updated to lollipop. The reason is still unknown i was having the same problem. But then in a video at youtube i saw an app known as "qualcommn snapdragon guru" download it use its feature to stop apps and all that stuff and battery will be very improved.
Well if i look at your screenshot i could say it was normal, the one that draining your battery is your screen (based on your ss). But in other way you can download some apps to control your kernel (e.g kernel auditor) and swipe to "kernel samepage merging" tab, look if its on or off, if on just turn it off and see your battery life then, it happen to me sometimes.
Hello. I've recently installed CM 13 on my phone (great ROM btw thx devs). The Android OS drain of the stock ROM has gone away and the performance is much better. It also uses approximately 3%/min when being used with medium load. However, the idle battery drain is atrocious (I believe this also applies to the stock ROM). The phone uses about 5% every hour when connected to 3G (displaying 4~5 bars), Bluetooth and WiFI on. Because of this, the battery life suffers greatly.
So the questions that I have are:
1. What cause this battery drain? Google Play Services? With clean flash, no Gapps, nothing installed doesn't have this drain. So I'm suspecting it's to do with Google Play Services or the background processes being managed incorrectly.
2. Is there a way to fix it? Custom Kernels? Amplify? (I know that you're supposed to clean flash and provide logs to devs, but the thread is more about how to fix it so yeah)
Thank you in advance!!
Battery drain happens mostly from Google Apps and Facebook and Messenger. I uninstalled most of Gapps and Facebook and installed Greenify, PowernNap, Amplify and the battery drain is gone.

Let me put in the details.
I just came from MIUI 9.5.1x.y(forget the exact version) China version and now on LOS 15.1 official.
My old experience with that MIUI is optimal for standby battery life, especially during midnight with flight mode on. 8~9 hour just had the battery down by 1 ~2 percent at max. For MIUI, I use the built-in battery saving mode and disallowed most apps' background activities.
In LOS, I root and utilize greenify for similar task, and also enable the built-in battery saver. Yet, it gives me quite different result. About 7~8% usage overnight. That's far from optimal.
So my question are:
Do you have similar experiences?
If the answer is yes, how do you find the causes of the unnecessary battery drain? And how to solve it?
Any clues and helps are welcome.
Use an app to find out what is causing wakelocks during the night?
BetterBatteryStats for example.
You should Monitor Your Battery with Gsam and Betterbatterystatus Application also Monitor Cpu Deep Sleep
got to battery stat in system setting , check what apps running in background and disable(if available) what apps that can running in background.
hi, has anyone experienced the battery drain when the phone is idle?
last night i've left the phone on 20-22% battery and when i woke up - the phone was turned off because the battery reached 0%...
when it charged - the idle battery consumption was off the wall...
device is about a month and a half old...
i'm using stock MIUI (latest, EU), not rooted
phone is slightly debloated via adb fastboot tool...
phone doesn't use 5G network at home or ever, mobile data is turned off when i'm home
i just can't figure out what is happening...
thanks in advance
Debloated too much I think. Have the same issue when I have Samsung Phone and used adb debloater
not sure about that...
i didn't touch any crucial Xiaomi apps, just recommended ones and never had any bebloat battery drain issues on any device which was debloated or even rooted
update:
last night i left the device with 38% battery, just to see what would happen
in the morning, 8 hours after - it still had 35% charge strange...
note: in the meantime, i adjusted some apps not to work in the background if not needed and uninstalled (almost) never used Google Lens (which i've installed few days ago to try something)
didn't touch any battery settings for common social and messaging apps that i use (Facebook, fb messenger, google messages)
so, maybe the culprit was either google lens or some of those adjusted apps - or the device doesn't read the battery well when under 30%... i'll see what will happen in the next few days...
@60nine Settings > Battery > Battery Use (check "Daily battery usage chart")
Look there if you see any app that has consumed much battery.
you seriously think that i don't already know how to check this? (how do you think i've found that the idle was draining the battery?
no suspicious apps there, idle battery consumption was at the top...
Sorry, I overlooked that you have already wrote it is the idle drain and not a specific app
no problem
