Titanium backup error - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have leedroid rom on my phone. Installed Titanium backup and it give me the error:
Sorry, I could not acquire root privileges. This application will *NOT* work!
Please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes Busybox, and try again
This attempt was made using the "/system/xbin/su" command
I'm sure i've root, busyboy and supersu installed. Anyone knows how to fix it? Thanks.

go into sueprsu app, go to log and grant permission for titanium. or let supersu auto give su permission for apps and try again

[Q] Busybox install failure

I have installed Busybox installer from Marketplace. I also managed to install Busybox 1.17.1 Now if I try to update Busybox from installler first I will get empty box with OK button and the status says: Looking for BusyBox. If I then press install the whole program crashes. I also tried to update Busybox from Titanium Backup but it carshes also. I have a stock rom 2.51.1 which is of course rooted and OC'd. So nothing special. What is wrong? What can I do?
logcat pls.
The crash for Titanium Backup was caused by Droidwall. I uninstalled then the Busybox installer which is now only Busybox(?) in Marketplace and then installed different Busybox installer and I was able to update my Busybox. So no problems anymore.

[Q] factory reset after permroot....still rooted or not !!!

after permroot i did factory reset and then the visionary app and superuser app went away. now even after reinstalling both of them my proxy app doesnt work , it gives an error saying failed to start redirect.sh (permission denied) . now is my DHD still rooted or not , if it is still rooted then how can i make the proxy app work ?
thanks
try to root using visionary again, if you are rooted at the moment simply nothing will happen if you use it
Edit; You shouldn't have lost root by factory reset alone, but stranger things have happened. Not sure about the proxy app.
DL Superuser again (or as suggested/implied), reintall the Visionary will install Superuser as well.
Certain apps need required SU permissions from Superuser. When prompted by Superuser, grant SU rights to that app you are running.
Alternatively;
1. DL & install Superuser & Terminal Emulator from the Market
2. Run Terminal emulator
3. Type "su"
4. When prompted give superuser rights
5. Terminal Emulator prompt will change to "#" if you still have root
Edit: If you still have root & Superuser permission for the proxy app, try reboot in CWM Recovery & "fix permissions". You can do from within ROM Manager, but I prefer to do in CWM Recovery when the phone hasn't booted the partitions.
Make a backup in CWM Recovery prior to doing anything.
Just sharing.. once I accidentally denied the permission to root access for one app and the setting was to remember it. It took me a while before I realized this and change it in superuser setting.
i tried the terminal emulator and after typing su it said permission denied , and yeah my titanium backup isnt working coz it says dat it needs root now.
Yep, you lost root.
Try visionary again, and make sure superuser rights are given when asked by superuser.

[Q] su permission denied

Hello there,
I just flashed a new ROM (Gingerbread 2.3.7) last night. After signing in the Google account everything is great; the old apps got redownloaded and all. I noticed that there is no apps listed in the superuser. I tried 'su' command in the emulator terminal & I got permission denied.
Luckily all the apps are working in perfect harmony. However, how do I get the superuser permission back? It seems like my device is not rooted. Do I need to root my phone again? Fingers crossed I don't.
Initially, I tried to flash the Ice Cream Sandwich. I tried multiple times but to no avail. I even tried to change the HBOOT (from CM7 > downgrader > Stock HBOOT) but the process failed. I afraid that this might be the cause my root access got lost. Anyone can verify this?
Thanks!
Su app will be built into the ROM so you should still rooted. Sounds like Su settings are just defaulting to deny. Open Su, menu > settings and check its set at prompt (safer than allow). After flashing new Rom you'll need to launch apps that require root access to allow them permission again. You might need to update the Su app or binaries if permissions don't stick.

beachcomber,
1. my Superuser is set at prompt.
2. I am not sure which app that require root access. Could you give me some examples so that I can run them?
3. I tried to update the su binaries, but I got this:
" checking current install path...FAIL!"
" failed to find currently installed su binary. Update cannot continue."
Therefore, what do you suggest?
Thanks.

Take a backup. Download this. Flash it through recovery. Reboot and check if it works.

Lost shell root access

Hi,
i have a rooted Desire Z currently running CM9 RC2, and I've noticed recently that my # shell has been replaced by a [email protected]:/ and it seems like I don't have root access there. I can't ls in /data/ for example, and su throws a permission denied error. However, apps that require root access(such as Titanium Backup) still seem to work. I noticed this happen right after I installed and ran Busybox. I did not even install busybox from the app as I already have it. I was just trying to get the apk file for another device with no internet access. I'm not sure if this app is what caused it, but it was when I noticed it.
In any case, short of a nandroid restore how do I get back shell root access and the proper shell?
Thanks.
Most likely your root access under System Settings -> Development was changed from "ADB and Apps" to "Apps Only".
PS: why would you be installing busybox, CM9 came with it (likewise with superuser and su).
Thanks. That worked.
Like I mentioned in my original post

Though your quote here conflicted so wasn't sure :

Sorry for the confusion, by running busybox I meant simply launching the Busybox app(which is just an installer, not busybox itself), but not clicking the "install busybox" button in the app to actually install busybox on my phone.

Problem regarding HTC One X root

I did a half ass job in trying to unroot. I deleted the su binary and superuser.apk file but didn't restore the stock ROM or recovery or boot before deleted them. I didn't wipe disk and relock the bootloader either, I just stopped there.
After that, my ROM, Viperx 3.7.7 can still grant apps permission to access root, albeit a little buggy (can't grant for one time but must choose either 10min of access or forever). But after I update to Viper 4.1.1 or CM 12, that ability is lost completely and CWM start asking me if I wanted to fix root upon exit. Right now I can still access root and do things to its file (maybe) but I can't grant any permission, root checker told me my root is not properly installed and like I said above, CWM keep asking me and what I choose (Yes or No) makes no difference.
Anyone got a clue about what I should do? I've already tried to reflash the su binary from the onexroot zip file available on this forum, It didn't do anything.
Updated: I still have my su binary, but I don't have any superuser.apk in system/app
And I can't deleted or do anything to the files in root dir.
