There are Perfect instructions and download links on the oneplus website for sideloading.
I dont get the Youtube part? Why are you not able? Does it work through the browser?
I don't understand the steps but if I watch in a video I see the all steps.

It didn't erase any of my data when I updated my rom manually (from a full 3.2.2 file). BUT it WILL erase your date if you haven't unlocked the bootloader yet. Unlocking it will erase your data.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...ficial-oxygen-os-roms-and-ota-updates.450783/ there you go!
This is too confusing, I'm trying to update, oneplus 3 website ADB is confusing, barely learned how to use Odin which seem simple this is confusing I'm trying to update mine, which is easier way?
done it after following YouTube video
if you're not sure how to update following the instructions on OnePlus or XDA, then you may have to wait for the OTA updates.
I don't get the ota update i don't know why

1. Is the bootloader unlocked? If yes, flash TWRP and wipe everything. Flash back stock recovery and flash stock firmware via ADB Sideload.
2. If no, just reflash stock firmware via stock recovery using ADB Sideload.
There's many guides about these around XDA. You're better to use search function to search on how to do bla bla.

Thank you. I'll have a look. To be honest I'm not sure how to "flash" but hopefully some of the "how to" guides will help. Thanks again.

Easiest way is:
Open SuperSu
Goto Settings->Full Unroot
Reboot after unrooting. Then do hard reset after rebooting
Hey dudes,
Is there a possibility to root a Nexus 5X with Dev Preview 5 easily? I wouldn't experiment much on my Nexus 5X and want to have a quite easy way to root the Device.
Thanks!

Unlock the bootloader and use CF-AUTO ROOT

If your drive is encrypted you cannot root without losing all your data. You will have to save your data and files for restoration after rooting.

Wrong. See the post above yours.
Also flashing an old vendor image makes TWRP work even if the phone is encrypted. So one could flash TWRP, an old vendor image, SuperSU, then the correct vendor image.

Wouldn´t CF_Autoroot wipe \data?
Im asking, because I don´t want to test it, since my last backup is from before Preview 3 and I dont want to loose my data

No, it does not. But you should back up your data anyway.
Edit: are you encrypted? It may wipe your data. You may want to do the other method I described.

Does this work with the final version of Nougat?
It does work, but Android pay will not if you use it. Atleast that was my experience.
For sh!ts and giggles I unrooted (by flashing dp5 with the -w flag removed) then rerooted with CF-Autoroot and it didnt wipe /data. Just thought Id post this for anyone else that may have the same question.

Some yes. Download the kernel zip you want to install and unzip it. If it contains the boot.img then flash that with fastboot.
Though now that twrp works with encrypted phones on N there isn't a good reason not to use it.

I tried -1 on my encrypted phone, two issues:
1) TWRP doesn't stick. It will revert to stock recovery after 1-2 restarts.
2) Flashing SU doesn't work. Get's an error due to the encryption.

Did you allow twrp to make modifications to the system (prompt at first boot into recovery)? Is your system set to require a pin/password/pattern at boot?

TWRP didn't prompt me to allow modifications at first boot into recovery.
No, not set to require any type of pw at boot.
Quick question: I dirty flashed the full 3.2.8 zip having flashed*3.2.7 again (all in twrp), did the wipe cache bit as usual then selected reboot but I*didn't get the usual swipe to disable stock recovery............does this mean big problems*if*I*boot into recovery? Is twrp lost*to me?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
Even if twrp is lost just reflash it again with one of the tool kits
Running Android since 1.5..... Boosted OP3
Thanks, that's what I have done.

Where did you get 3.2.8 from, i looked for it frim the OP website n is not there? Make sure you did not get a dirty ROM

Why not?
Hi
I updated to Oos 4.0. Then flashed TWRP. It boots into recovery but I can't see any files when I attempt to flash anything. I need to decrypt and from what I've read, that requires a data format. I tried that and now my system won't boot.
So as it stands, I have an unlocked bootloader, I can access TWRP but without being able to see the files and I can't boot up my phone.
Please help.
Edit: Latest TWRP (3.0.4) worked with Nougat and problem solved. Thanks everyone.
Use a different TWRP.. The latest one should support encrypted. Keep in mind booting on encrypted in twrp can take a long time so do not panic!

Follow this guide:

you need the latest unreleased beta twrp. I would flash a full OOS as well to make sure everything is clean. I had the same problem and its a 10 min fix with the right twrp

My fault, here https://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=15934#downloads look for this file: "twrp-3.0.3-x_blu_spark_v20-op3_op3t.img". This should 100% work!
v3.0.4-1 should work.
Thanks everyone, I used a newer TWRP and it worked
Got a rooted 5x with TWRP recovery and upgraded with flashfire two days ago, have had problems with WiFi and 4g ever since. It drops connection intermittently, webpages takes ages to load.
I didn't update radio or bootloader with flashfire and I'm thinking this could be the issue? Does anyone have any advice as to what I should try?

Did you up grade with the ota? Or did you update just some partitions?

I let flashfire use the downloaded OTA. I left the default settings in flashfire so I think it flashed everything except bootloader and radio..
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Ok i went ahead and flashed the bootloader and radio with fastboot today. Hopefully this will remediate the problems.
If there were changes to the bootloader and modem the ota would have included them but give fastboot a try anyway.

Default settings in flashfire doesn't flash bootloader and radio.
Phone has been stable so far, none of the issues I had the previous days. I will update here if it turns out it didn't fix it but so far it's stable.
