Game battery booster? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hello the game battery booster app installed on the htc 10 does anyone seem to have this working?
My understanding is that once you add a game to the list, the game will run at 1080p instead of 1440p but so far am getting poor performance in games and when I take a screenshot I see 1440p and not 1080p reason for my lower frame rate.
Is it really hard for htc to add an overlay that pops up saying when it's enabled?
OK is they any other apps out there that will down scale games? Without root.
Thanks

I use it for all of my games and it seems to have a very minor impact on battery life for the few games I do play. I haven't had an issue with poor performance with or without it enabled.

I think the screenshot should be 1440p as opposed to 1080p as your actual screen is still 1440p (bringing actual resolution to 1080p would cause black bars on the screen which would look unsightly). The game booster probably just forces the game to render at 1080p so fewer pixels are generated and less load on GPU.

I want game booster for my htc desire 820 g + and I have lineage os 14.1 custom rom plz anybody give me

[Q] Best way to change screen resolution?

Hey, everyone! I'm looking for the best way to change the resolution of the G3. I used an app that supposedly does it, and it did, but it bugged out every boot to where it would go back from 1080 to 2K, though it would think it's 1080. I know 2K is awesome, but not only can you just about not notice the difference, but game performance are GREATLY increased!! Battery life may be much more improved as well due to using less GPU power. I had frame drops on PPSSPP playing Monster Hunter in 2K but at 1080, it was always locked at 30fps. Heroes of Order & Chaos I think had worse frame drops but I hadn't gotten the chance to try it yet. Can I change the actual screen resolution, and not the DPI alone, through the build.prop file or something?

I tried that app, and used the G2 preset. It made the status bar look funny (the icons became too big for the bar) and I didn't notice any performance improvements.

That, in a nutshell, is what you get when you artificially "lower the resolution"

Mod Boost+ to enforce 720p resolution?

Currently we can force games to run at 1080p resolution which improves performance and battery life. But displaying 1080p image on 1440p screen is not ideal as the scaling will be "lossy", instead, if we could have the option to make games run at 720p, the pixel scaling ratio will be exactly 4:1, having an even bigger gain in performance.
Is it possible to mod Boost+ app so that we could run apps at 720p resolution?
one thing that u can do is this here!
See this
BTW: i think it makes no sense...only for Games in low Energy and Performance boost
you can connect htc to the pc and use the wm size 1080x1920 add shell, which will make it run full system and full hd, boost + will automatically reduce the game resolution to 720p and then go back to the adb shell and type wm size delete, the htc back to 2k but the game is still 720p.

Question about Razer Phone 120hz display

Afaik.. most if not all Android games are lock in 30fps ? a few has the option to run at 60fps... so what is the purpose of the 120hz display?
for home screen at navigation only ?

No not all android games are locked at 30 or 60 fps, many are not locked at all, which means they can reach 120 fps even with little to no aupport.
120FPS can and does function everywhere that has no framerate lock (just like PC). Even custom roms run at 120 fps.
For a list of OFFICIALLY supported games refer to
https://support.razer.com/mobile/razer-phone
Here you will see a list if officially supported games. However, games that are NOT framerate locked "can" reach 120FPS depending on how graphically heavy they are.
You will see the 120 fps everywhere and i personally have not found any part of the OS where there might be a framerate lock mainly because there is none. Also its super smooth and responsive.
Now yes games that are locked will not reach higher framerates unless official support is added by the game developer.

You can also have the FPS show on your screen while using the phone (in any app) and you'll see a lot of games run higher than 30 or 60fps.
This setting can be found towards the bottom of developer options

S9 and Netflix low resolution problem

I cant get Netflix app to play videos with higher resolution than 720p and 30 FPS. The S9 has hardware capability to show 1440p and 60FPS, but Netflix seems to limit this to low resolution.
Any fix for this?
I have tried it on out superfast Wi-Fi and superfast LTE, no difference.
You can check this with Netflix own "Test Pattern" videos. Actual FPS and Resolution is shown in upper right corner when you zoom out to original video size.

No root. Actually have the same problem on my Tab S4.
But we get full 4K and 60 FPS on our Samsung TV built in app, and also our Nvidia Shield TV.

I believe resolution is limited by your Netflix subscription, if you only paid for 720p then that's the max res you can watch with

App limitation apparently, this one might get you 1080p
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netflix-inc/netflix/netflix-5-3-1-build-19296-release/
all versions up to 5.3.1 operate at 1080p and a bitrate of 5800kbps which is the highest quality possible on smartphones.

I tested this method today, it works! So it is indeed app limitation NOT subscription. Tested it on my s9 and girfriends s9+, both worked. However, getting to 720p resolution on the newer versions is much faster than getting to 720p or 1080p on this older version. So maybe locking to 720p is the effect of some network and streaming optimizations.
Had to go older to get mine working

I tried 5.3.1 but it immediately prompted me to update to continue. So I used 4.12.2 and my content was watchable again. I’m on an S9 with Pie.

Question Bad resolution on Cod Mobile.

And not only in that application in other applications it also works low resolution like pubg do you think it has a solution? Because I bought this tablet basically to play their games.I am thinking of selling it and buying the iPad because my girlfriend has it and all the applications are at the highest quality here, I feel that it is not optimized and what is like a large mobile. The tablet in hardware and price quality is much better than the ninth generation iPad and has incredible speakers but if it is not accompanied by a good operating system it is useless
It did choose lower resolution on some games, but there I could increase it to max level manually in settings.

I have put everything to the maximum of graphics but the resolution of the game being low it still looks very pixelated, It is not optimized for the size of the tablet

Same problem here on cod and pubg. Have you found any solution?
Just check anti aliasing
I tried all graphic settings, even antialiasing. Uninstall and reinstall the game, fabric reset the Tab but no changes. It is like the game runs in 480p and It doesn't recognize screen resolution.

Maybe the game simply isn't optimised for a tablet very well? Maybe speak to the developers. I don't have any resolution issues on anything else.
I have the same problem did it got fixed? Or did you get a solution??
No, no solution for me.
I've read that this is a known issue even on the Samsung Tabs so it seems to be a screen related issue in general.
