So I have been reading throughout the day as I have been going out and about and reading threads all over and googling about how to root and install custom recovery to my phone. With my friend that knows well about rooting androids and all the troubleshooting of them is asleep; I have brought myself to come to join the entire forum.
I have followed this link provided WIND Galaxy S4 M919V's UNITE
to the [URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258633]"[INFO][HOWTO][ROOT] Motochopper by Dan Rosenberg"[/url]
followed those instructions ran the .bat on my windows and it said successful.
On reboot it says my superSU binary code is out of date and needs to be updated since it is coded specifically for an HTC one... My options are install and recovery install: but it goes to an error and says "There was an error installing SUperuser. Please send a log of the error to the developer".
Also I try to flash the recovery TWRP 2.07 and lower versions for NA version (i9505) and a second attempt to flash on the "Canadian version" it had listed on the Official TWRP website. Both we're unsuccessful and now I have this expired binary SuperSU sitting here.
What are my options?
thank you!
Jestaur.
Did the unsuccessful attempts give you an error? And to root I would try cf-auto root, there should be one for your device or the M919 version should work, search for more info in the cf-auto root thread!

Hi,
I got LG G3 (02, D855) and recently I updated as it required a software update. This removed root (it had root before, I installed root via the one click installer created by avicohh.). After this update I can no longer root, when I install SuperSU I get this dreadful error: there is no su binary installed and supersu cannot install it
I have tried one click installer + the GUI version as well, all seems to go well, but according to both scripts, but once I run SuperSU, it gives that error.
I've seen some posts which says I need to flash it or whatever, but I have no idea how to do this, prefer one click scripts!!
PS the software suite upgraded to latest version 5.0 Android.
Cheers
Asim
Sorry I can't help you but you have helped me... I too am rooted and last night the ota update downloaded and is now sitting on top of screen wanting me to install it.
I don't think I will now as would like to keep root.
Do you know how to get rid of the tick at top incase I accidentally install the update?
Regards diddle ?

Hi, in update center, you should be able to turn of automatic updates, also I think if you click the notification > click install later, it will ask you when to remind you, I think from this popup you should be able to abort installation.
Can't duplicate it since I already updated.
Worked asimr
Thanks for the help
Will wait till a working one click appears before I do any updates
Same problem as yours, after i unrooted my phone via supersu, i cant root anymore
I have tried to root the phone again in recovery mode or via adb... None of them success
Hope somebody can help :crying:
Hello my dear friends,
Yesterday i bought a new lg g3s. Mobile looks super cool and i've already loved it. The problem is that in store didn't tell me that the device was from "TIM" carrier and now i'm having about 30 little applications In menu and the UI looks terrible. Is it possible someone show me the threads i have to follow to install a clean version of kitkat. Like theone that mobiles comes Usually.
Thanks
Hi,
When you say little applications do you mean bloatware or distorted UI?
The process to change the Rom is easy. Just follow the tutorial for rooting and then install twrp.
If root doesn't the first time check the drivers. It gave me a hard time when i rooted
Sent from my phone
I mean that the carrier is TIM (like orange, vodafone, etc) and the UI is formed for TIM users. It has preinstall apps for them. I just want to reinstall a nice, clean kitkat without all those apps.
So the method is as always the same. Root and then install Kitkat twrp. After this can i unroot it again?
Any pro user to confirm my question. I need a finally "okidoki" to start the procedure. Please please it is critical for me to have a boost to do it!
Thanks
yes, you can unroot later
Guys last call!!! promise!
After searching for hours in xda forum and watch some youtube videos i finally found what i want to do.
My problem was the bloatware that carrier had pre-installed in the device. First i thought that the solution in this problem was to found a clean version of Kitkat 4.4.2 and flash it. Like all LG G3s (beat) devices coming without any carrier. I still want to reach that goal but i really dont know if flashing is the right way. I found an after-root software that can backup/hide or remove those apps but i fill like this is not the right way to do this.
I rooted my device from the guide in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/lg-g3s-beat-d722-thread-t3110048
Now questions coming like rain!!!
1) "Patching Bootloader" is it optional? it looks like it is necessary to move to next step.
2) "Install TWRP Kitkat: Download TWRP for KK" includes the kitkat version that i am looking for (and i described previously) or it 's just a tool for flashing?
3)And finally if i manage to flash device and make it looks like a Non-Carrier device, unrooting will bring it back to "carrier mode"?
I rooted in the past windows mobile phone and i remember some things (like bootloader adjustement is necessary) but windows from androids are a bit different.

As you said you rooted the phone, you can simply install Titanium backup and feeze (better option as can be unfreezed later) / uninstall the apps you don't want. Flashing the recovery will help you flash other custom roms. So installing titanium backup will solve your problem if bloatware is only concern.
Hit thanks if I helped.
My UK unlocked M9 is still on v2.10.401.1, even though v.2.11 has has been out a few months now in Europe.
I ran 2 root checkers on it and got 2 results:
From the 2 screenshots, can anyone tell me if my device has been tampered with and not rooted properly or is not rooted at all... Its hard to tell.
Might it be worth me re- flashing a stock rom to trigger the OTA.
Thanks
Surely 2.10 is still current version for WWE as all the custom roms are still on it......what did you actually do to try and root it? Do you have superSU installed? Have you tried any apps that require root to see if they function? Are you running stock rom or custom?
Ive added 2 screenshots of my version. I bought my M9 from a pre-owned store yester, which should be 100% unlocked unrooted, but the reason Im asking about 2.11 is because of the link below dated back to June:
http://blog.htc.com/2015/06/htc-one-...ftware-update/
So either one of the root checkers is wrong.. or this m9 rooting was messed up by a noob and traded in OR we are still on 2.10 and im reading into this to much.
Some advise would be great..
Thanks
]I just thought Ide add alittle more info.. After searching around, I checked for root Using both Terminal Emulator and ConnectBot and came up ewith No root access, So im hoping Root checker Basic is wrong. I also checked BusyBox Checker and AM I Root? Apps for BusyBox with SuperSU root, Both showed No Root.
Buying 2nd hamd/Pre-owned Phones, even from a high street store can always be a cheaper alternative, but can also run the risk of an attempted root and messed up by the person who traded it in, although I know stores are supposed to have software to check for this.
Any more advise or help anyone has would be greatly appreciated
I hope this thread helps others who have bought 2nd hand/pre-owned Phones and want to make sure their device is actually Factory unlocked and not Modded/Rooted when purchased.
Thanks
Check bootloader if it is "Locked" or "Relocked".
If it shows "Locked" then it was either never rooted, or was rooted & returned to 100% stock @ at which you won't be able to know if it ever rooted (except, maybe, if you unlock it & try to run Sunshine S-Off & it doesn't require a payment meaning it was used previously on the device).
Have you try to flash BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip in the recovery?

My Bootloader says "S-ON" "Locked" Software Status "Official",
Does that mean then that it should take an OTA?

Not sure what you mean!!
No, I havent tried to flash anything, Ive just bought the M9.
But to Answer your question, when I try to boot into Recovery from HBoot, all I get is a black screen with a with a RED Triangle and RED "!" mark through it,
but that could be me not knowing how to boot into Stock Recovery. Theres no Other 3rd party Recovery on the M9
So all in all... am i right in thinking that my M9 is fine with no tampering... and 2.10.401.1 is the current factory unlocked OS in Europe.
Hope that gives more info
If your device is "Locked" and you get a black screen with a with a RED Triangle and RED , it seems to be stock and not rooted and should receive the next OTA.
Yes. Your device is fine & should receiveu plates (OTA) when they arrive.
Sorry Mods for not using correct "Quote" and "thanks" buttons, not sure how they work in this new XDA forum layout: )

Many Thanks for putting my mind at reast.. I really appreciate it... Happy guy now
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to help me out with this and I just hope this thread helps someone else check their 2nd hand/pre-owned device
Peacr All
Download Terminal Emulator, open it up, and type "su." If it asks for root permissions, you're rooted.
Already done... I provided svreenshots further back.. Checked for Both SuperSU and BusyBox root using ConnectBot & Terminal Emulator.
All sorted.. Thanks though
Get into the bootloader and if it says "locked" then no.
I wish I stole my HTC M9.
Its been forever sicne ive done this so i feel a bit embarrased.. but i just got a fresh nexus 7 wifi only 2013 model from amazon and looking to root it unlock and whatever i need to do else. Its has 5.0 installed and asking to update to 5.1. Can someone point me to a guide to root and install the newest twrp and unlock the bootloader? Ive seen a few but nothing new so i dont know if they would soft brick my device. Thanks for your help! I appreciate it all.
First decide if you want OTA updates because they will end if you root it.
Next, consider the already-rooted alternative.
Then we can answer your questions...
No updates, i like to do it on my own
Will One Click Bootloader Unlock, Root, Recovery Install With Wugfresh Nexus Toolkit: @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2381698 suffice for this 2013 nexus 7 with 5.0 installed work for all that?
Nevermind, that link is still down. So im still open to any ideas or leads lol.
unlock bootloader (#4, section "To flash a system image")
install TWRP and accept its rooting offer
install SuperSU app
Done.
Thank you. However im getting bootloop. flashed razor-lrx22g and twrp-3.00-0-flo.img when i reboot to fastboot and then to recovery it simply hangs at twrp, or if i just go for a restart it hangs at the boot screen with the multicolor balls. any suggestions?
No worries at all - it is easy to fix, but why did you flash razor-lrx22g? Didn't you want root/twrp only?
Anyway, now you have to flash the image yet again and let it boot completely to Android user interface. Then do the 3(-1) steps I posted earlier.
