In order to get rid of the AT&T bloatware that originally came with my phone, I installed Android Revolution HD 53.1. I roughly followed the guide here.
I used TWRP as the custom recovery.
Now, I can't use Wifi at all. (i.e. it is off and when I try to turn it on it just becomes grey). Someone online suggests deleting data/misc/wifi but that did not fix the issue for me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I have HBOOT-3.19, and S-ON

Hey guys!
So. This is the first time I've been stumped enough to actually post, so I can't post to the actual ROM thread. I hope someone sees this and will help me.
Currently, I've succeeded (after many redos and restores) in getting AceSMod007 v41 onto my CDMA HTC Desire (BravoC). Fought with the patch for a while but it's functional. In case it's a needed tidbit, my radio is 0.93 CM7.
The problems I'm running into aren't the ones I'm seeing most people run into. I'm not having a problem with the lock screen or bootloops. My WiFi is acting up since I loaded the rom. It refuses to even turn on. It just says "Error" under the WiFi checkbox. At one point I found a "wifi_fix.zip" in the development forum from an earlier version, but when I flashed that for some reason my phone refused to go past the HTC loading screen so I had to restore.
The bigger problem I'm having is that I absolutely cannot update my APNs. On CM7 all I had to do was flash my "cellularsouth-mms.zip" and then restore default in APNs. That doesnt work. So, I tried to manually save a new APN with the appropriate information and it refuses to save the APN settings.
Other than that I'm running great though!
No one at all?
Hi all this is my first post but hoping you can help. I've been reading up and tried to root my phone but keep getting a model id error. Does anyone know if it may be that i may not be using a Telus stock room? Some people said to remake gold card. Any ideas?
Thanks
Hey me again. I got it rooted and installed revolution hd. Found the sound bad during calls and my weather widget and phone time was off. Tried setting manually but found the widget retained the wrong time. When set auto would detect my timezone and the auto change to a half hour diff.
I then tried flashing the ROM again. Same thing. Proceeded to install stock ROM again and all works normally again.
Anyone know why this happened?
Also can someone explain reasoning to install another kernel?
What are the radios for exactly?
Sorry for being noob but this Telus dhd is a pain. I did my Acer a500 tablet in about 20. I was at the dhd for 2 days till i got it done.
If anyone had any tips or tricks please weigh in. Greatly appreciate your help.
I looked through a few similar threads before deciding to make a new one. None of them seemed to pertain to my situation specifically.
Previously, I sideloaded the 4.4.3 update to my unrooted N7 2013 from Mac OS X. Everything worked fine and has been for the week or two since then.
When I saw that the 4.4.4 zip was up Droid Life, I grabbed my N7 (hadn't touched it since the night before with at least 75% battery remaining) only to find that it was stuck on the Google logo of the boot animation. My first assumption was that the OTA 4.4.4 update had already been pushed to my device and had just installed itself (although, don't they require permission to install and reboot?). However, now I can't get my device to move past the Google logo screen. Soft rebooting hasn't helped at all. Anyone know a fix for this? Or, at the very least, what may have gone wrong?
All constructive advice is greatly appreciated!
Hi I pretty much know nothing about custom roms etc but I was forced to go for a custom ROM due to a friend wiping my phone but when I flashed Viper 3.2.1 everything was fine except the wifi button was greyed out, I also tried android revolution and the same problem occured. However it was fine when i tried candy5 but once i flashed google play the wifi stopped working again.
Does anyone know what the problem is and how i should fix it? thanks.
Hope you are on latest 4.4.4 firmware , link for the same should be in OP/FAQ of Viper.

If you are only unlocked and not s-off you will need to manually flash the corresponding boot.img for each rom each time you flash a new rom. If you can get s-off you won't need to do this anymore.
Firmware needs to be updated. Confirmed on OP's other thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/htc-one-m8-bricked-t2989202/page2
Also its not necessary to manually extract and flash boot.img on the M8, even when s-on. Folks giving this advice may be carrying over knowledge from an older HTC device.

Afternoon everyone, I was hoping someone could assist with this problem, I have a Galaxy Tab 3 7" wifi only, I was running everything as stock inc 4.1.2 firmware, then I was prompted for an upgrade to 4.4.2, I stupidly did this without reading up ! I use to run the Tomtom software on my tab, used it everyday for work, now since the upgrade the tab will not find a GPS signal, no matter how long I leave it, after a few hours of reading and trying different things, cache cleared, reinstalled the app, restore to stock twice (still on 4.4.2) Im at a loss. I have read once its upto 4.4.2 it cannot go back to 4.1.2 as the boot loader is locked ? I am currently downloading a clean instal from Samobile of 4.4.2 to see if that will fix it, installed via Odin 3.10.6.
If anyone has cured a similar problem or can point me in the right direction I would be most grateful
Thanks
John
sort of fixed
Couldn't seem able to find a fix for this problem I had a dabble with my Tablet, installed TWRP, backed up the 4.4.2 stock ROM, found and installed the ROM by Jon Wesley Tranchida - uber cool ROM btw - fantastic boot logo's :good: but alas, the Tablet would still not run the GPS with Tomtom. So I took a risk and found a Stock 4.1.2 ROM from here http://stockroms.webs.com/downloads deleted everything and started again, Installed the 4.1.2 Ultimate ROM, installed Tomtom again and YES, everything works okay :highfive: I really miss all the addons though that were included in the ROM by Jon Wesley Tranchida. I still don't understand why Tomtom won't see GPS or the tablet wont access the GPS on 4.4.2, after 10 hours of reading up.. Although I did read it could be some thing to do with the baseband ? its beyond me lol
