G4 Making Unlock Sound Play Full Length - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
One thing I always play with while rooted are system ui sounds, especially lock/unlock sounds. I have been wondering for the longest time if there is some way to make the unlock sound play it's full length, rather than only about a second. (i.e. circlemosaic_unlock, hulahoops_unlock) The thing is, the locking sound (i.e. hulahoops_lock) plays for as long as the sound file is.. or at least multiple seconds longer than the unlock sound.
I have never had a "touchdown" sound longer than a second, so I'm not sure how long that one plays, but any insight/help would be so much appreciated.
(I would finally be able to let the engine roar in my Jaguar F-Type lockscreen pack!)

Haven't figured anything out yet.
Currently I'm using ZUI Locker instead and replaced the lock and unlock ogg's with APK Editor Pro, in case anyone wants a workaround.

[Q] speaker popping when screen off/locked

My TP2 occasionally decides to make a very brief 'pop' noise from the speaker when the screen is off and the device is locked. It happens at a regular interval, it's the exact same noise as when I manually lock the phone, making me think that maybe it's relocking itself over and over and playing the noise?
Does anyone elses do this? i'm using latest energy rom
Where is the sound file related to the locking of the device? it's literally like a 0.1 second 'pop'. I could try removing the file to see if that fixes it?

[Q] How to make AlsaMixer changes permanent?

Hello!
3 weeks ago I've purchased a Xperia E4g, since the I've been tweaking my phone.
I just noticed that the headset volume is too low, so I installed AlsaMixer and got really good results with the volume, but I want to make that changes permanent but I don't know how.
Everytime I reboot my phone or change the music player, the values go to default.

Phone screen off during calls when watch is set to play phone audio

Ok, so found a really annoying issue when the watch is set to play phone audio. Basically when you answer a call or make a call from your phone, the functionality of the screen turning off when you put your phone to your ear no longer works, which means you end up controlling your handset with your ear if you ear touches the screen.
Very annoying!
This only happens if the watch is basically setup as bluetooth audio for the phone (as in you can take calls on your watch).
This was already discussed here:

It seems to be a problem in the Google Dialer App. The problem is not present with Samsung phones.
For the moment you'll have to press the power button, to disable the screen. Hopefully a future update of the phone dialer app will fix this, you may support this here:

There is an update MHC19J mentioned for the Nexus 5X, which may improve the situation.

Notification sounds for apps not staying set

One thing I have noticed on the 3 so far is, for many of my apps, the notification sound I set for it never plays. I always get the default phone notification sound for those apps.
When I go in the app to check or change it, its still on the the notification sound I picked in the first place.
Why are certain apps, which allow you to pick a different sound, only playing default sound, while others that I changed are playing that changed sound? For instance, Ive been using TweetCaster for over 5 years now. Always had the same notification tone set for it and it played perfectly on every phone before the P3XL. The file is still in the Audio file for Notifications as it should it. It plays the sound when I click it. But when an update for TC comes through, it just plays the default notification sound in the phone setting.
EDIT: After much searching, I finally found a thread on Reddit that explained how to do it. It's a way deeper dive than just the usual pool I was used to...

I never claim that I have the "right mind", but I would like to have the sound.Looking for the solution- not remarks.
No such support exists or is planned to be added in the future.

I just found 3 apps in google play store that allow playing video with sound on lock screen. Then there is another app with lock screen settings that allow to turn the sound on, but I did not run it as asking for permition to access my phone calls. Why would a app want to make a call?. Look like a video sound is turn off by manufacture or missing setting in wallpaper settings.

Hey there,
Lock screen video + sound is a feature no manufacturer provides.
Unlike video, It's a pretty useless feature to have sound playing on your lock screen everytime you open it.
Only Phone and Camera have the access to your microphone and speaker prior to unlocking your device, hence the not so wierd app permission.
Cheers !

For most people, the sound may be useless, but I would like to have it. Why, the manufacture, will let me have mp4 video but no sound?.
The app will let me play video with sound on lock screen, but the video play on home screen too - no option to play on lock screen only.
I admit, I am weird person, but I do not believe that I am the only one. There got to be some hidden setting to turn the sound on.
Why is everyone so paranoid these days? The reason Android asks for phone call permissions when installing video/audio apps is so that it knows when phone calls happen so it can lower or mute the sound volume & alert you of the incoming call. Not all permissions Android asks for are bad. Do research before making assumptions. [emoji848][emoji106]
