So I just got Nexus 5x and signed up for the Android N Developer Preview Program. It upgraded my 5x to Nougat Preview 5 OTA. I'm wondering if I do a factory reset, would it bring my phone back to the old marshmallow ROM? Thanks!
No, you have to opt out of the beta, and they will push an OTA to your phone to downgrade

Factory reset doesn't change the OS version you are on. So you will still be on N.
I concur with what the previous two posts stated. Factory Resetting currently cannot change your OS on any official channels of Android

If you think logically, for that to happen the phone would have to have a permanent store of the "factory" ROM for the device. As that is well over 1GB that wouldn't make sense.

Go away... And take your logic with you!
Lol. The problem is some people (even ones that think logically) simply don't understand how any of this stuff works. Hence the reason there are toolkits... for a Nexus!

No man, go to where you sign up for beta, in there you will have the option to opt out the beta and then a update via OTA will arrive so you can downgrade, but a factory reset will be done, so make a backup

Hey guys
It's been three weeks and I still haven't received the OTA for Android 5. I went to the nexus 7 forums on Google help Center and I saw a lot of people having problems after the OTA. I'm just asking, have any of you faced the same problems? Did you get the OTA or did you fastboot/sideboard it yourselves?
I flashed the 5.0 factory image on my Nexus 7 this past Wednesday after making a backup of my 4.4.4 system. Only issue so far was YouTube not working, but a simple reboot cured this, & the problem hasn't come back. Lollipop has been great for me so far. (Unlocked bootloader, root & TWRP)

I'm using a pure aosp build of 5.0 because my USB port is broken, so if I revert to stock to get the ota I will most likely be stuck in an unrooted, stock state.
Haven't had any issues whatsoever, so much so that I also updated my girlfriend's N7 to the same setup I am using and she loves it too
Just received an OTA update and was quick to press Install but it was only LMY48T (from LMY48M, never rooted). Tried googling and all I see the 7 (2013) WiFi was suppose to go from LMY48M straight to MRA58K and LMY48T was only a security update for Nexus 6, 9, and 10 which was required before going to M. Should I still try to flash MRA58K manually?
I've just had the same. Odd isn't it?

Ditto
LMY48T has now appeared on the Google factory image web site. We must have received this OTA update before this was posted. OTA to 6.0 must now be soon.

Me 2
argh, ditto! I have a notification that an update is available, cool! 9MB only, the LMY48T
Even I received a quick security update for Nexus 7 2013 (LMY48T) and is listed under factory images in Google developers (developers.google.com/android/nexus/images) site now. Seems like Nexus 7 got that security update too. Also Nexus 4 got that security update(LMY48T) too.
So Nexus 4,6,7,9,10 got those updates. Hopefully will get Marshmallow update soon.
My Nexus 4 also got this update. According to the Stagefrigt detector app it fixes all known Stagefright vulnerabilities.
Your Nexus 7 2013 will get Marshmallow. Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 10 won't.
So is there a link anywhere for a, OTA link for the Nexus 7 (2013), from this new build number, {OTA update from LMY48T to MRA58K}? Where is the new link? / There seems to be one or more devices' with the LMY48T to Marshmallow, but I do not see one for the Nexus 7 (2013).

I too cannot find the appropriate Marshmallow OTA for LMY48T. I tried the update for LMY48M but that did not work.
anyone got a solution for this? cheers
This is so annoying. Is there a way to roll back the security update to sideload the available OTA, because otherwise it's getting a fingerprint mismatch.
Should be out in about a week

I messaged the Google Dev team on Twitter and they said it should be out in a week or so.
Installing the official Google marshmallow 58k factory image is no more difficult than installing a sideload 48t to 58k image.... Just install the full fresh 58k image and be done. Take control. You can't complain about not having the latest when it's there for the taking. You just have to do it.

I thought sideloading the complete image would wipe the device. That is what everyone is trying to avoid.
If that isn't the case, then bonus!!
any news on this?

No I haven't heard or seen anything yet. They said about a week or so, it might be a little longer still.
You can just tweet them yourself. @googledevs and you can also check the hashtag #ghelp as well.
I have the LMY48T trying to get to marshmallow, but surely something is jacked up with my system and adb.. I do i adb restart to recovery, and get no command, so i then i push the buttons to set to install a ota, on my pc says no device when i try to side load. weird cuz it let me reboot using adb.
Finally got OTA update and went straight from LMY48T to MRA58V and apps/games seem to launch so much faster.
I have not used this thing in a few months so I decided to turn it on. I am currently running 5.1.1. I decided to see if there is an update for this device. No update! How is it that a Nexus device still has not been upgraded to 6.1? I thought the point of Nexus devices was to be updated quicker.

If you have not received the OTA, use ADB to flash the latest factory image from Google.

There appear to be several versions. How do I know which one is the right one?

If yours is the cellular variant as you say, download the latest mobile factory image. MOB30M for razorg
I updated as soon as it was possible and now want to get back to factory install cause my security patch is last year's. How do I get twrp on 7.0 and do I need to root etc? I would be satisfied with any way to update my ROM at all. I feel like upgrading was a mistake cause developing of roms on 7.0 seems to not have caught on for the 5x.

I have updated my nexus 5x to Android Oreo by using Google OTA update file which I found on google site..Build Number is "OPR6 170623.013 ". I flashed using "ADB Sideload "method and did a factory reset after that.
So my first and major question is the battery.Seems like its draining so fast comparing with the Nogut. When I browsing using mobile data, I saw that there was 1% battery loosing every minute or two.
And other problem is how to activate notification system in home screen.I saw some OREO videos,in their home screen some apps showing notification when its touched. So how to activate it on my nexus.?
Last question is, this build " OPR6.170623.13" is the final stable version for Nexus 5X.? And I receive the next OTA updat/security patch via mobile network in future ?

I will answer the last question, Major upgrades will stop on Nexus 5X and 6P. What I mean? We will not receive Android P or any future release after P. We will receive security patches until September of 2K18. After September 2K18, Google will say goodbye to this device. Good news is that we will flash custom ROMs for next OS's. Android P ,Q ,R, S etc, like LineageOS or AOSP based. We don't know if Google release 8.1 or 8.1.2 or something similar. : fingerscrossed:
Unlock bootloader, wipe your device, set up your device, lock your bootloader, wipe your device again, flash Oreo image from google, with flashall.bat file, wait until it's done.
Set up your device and lock bootloader from Developer settings.
If this not working for you, there is a chance your device is damaged (battery).

Hello...
I have a Nexus 5x that I updated it to Android 8.0 Oreo and it worked for only 1 day, it suddenly went out while I was using it and it has not started again ...
I think it's not European, because it's LGH798 ...
Through recobery I have formatted it to factory and remains the same. I have also tried installing Android 7.1 but it gives error ...
Could it be because the bootloader is locked?
Neither does the oem unlock ....
I do not know what I can do, I feel sorry for him, I worked very well and I was very happy ....
I request support, help ....
I need your knowledge !!!!!
Thank you.
