Anyone else out there dying for the moto display? I love the oneplus 3 but the ambient display sucks compared to the moto display.
Ive tried Notific, acdisplay, dynamic notifications, glimpse and they're all buggy and none of them work as well as moto display.
Is there any alternative apps out there? Any roms with moto display support?
I heard resurrection remix has moto permissions to download the moto apps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65356673&postcount=2) Does the version for the oneplus 3 have it?
Thanks
Rico
I'm not very familiar with Moto's implementation of ambient display. The last Motorola phone I had was the OG Droid. So I'm definitely not disagreeing with you, but I'm curious, what makes it better than OP3's implementation? With nothing to compare it to, all I can say is I like OP3's ambient display so far. I did install Ambient Battery for additional information on the display, but that app only works some of the time.
Rico please don't die.

Dorch - Dual TorchIts been a while that some newer devices devices now have both Front and Back flash for capturing photos so there but be an app for toggling both of them as torch.
Background:
I recently bought Moto Z Play that had both front and back flashlight but i couldn't find an App that can toggles both of them at same time in store (or maybe I am bad at searching), so I developed one.
Its just a clean simple app that serves the purpose of flashlight toggling and nothing else.

Thanks, nice idea.
Can you make a third button for switching the display to white full brightness.
Then it would be a cool torch for dark rooms

Well that could be done too. I don't always liked the display screen as a torch idea because it could be dangerous for display.
I might add this feature but cannot assure you.
Btw thanks for your suggestion and interest

I have been searching for days and have not found a single ROM for Moto G5S.
Are there any Android 8.1 ROMs that anyone has made or knows about?
Just wait a little more time...
because it's an exotic device and Lenovo didn't release an official Oreo ROM & source so far, thus I switched to to a Xiaomi Mi A1.
Over the last week or so people have begun to work on oreo for montana, but it's in the before alpha stages. It's very broken and they haven't released a ROM yet. However, that does mean that people are working on it, and they have got the basics down (i.e. Display, touchscreen etc...). Be patient, it will be here before you know it

it seems G5 and G5 Plus prevail in sales, if you start typing 'motorola g5' into your favorite search engine mainly those devices show up and even an explicit search for the G5S often lead to G5 results. So I assume that device isn't a top-seller.
Oh and they already got oreo

The popular Samsung Experience ROM port haven't the Edge Screen/Full Screen gestures, and it's also not possible to hide the stock navigation bar by using the 3rd party apps.
In this video I've showed the way to remove the navigation bar permanently and to install Edge Gesture on the device .
This method is working for every devices with Samsung Experience ROM (Treble Port) i.e Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, One Plus 6 etc.

Any device supports AOD but most likely it is only included in devices with amoled displays due to battery consumption.
In one of my Xiaomi devices; Mi 8 Lite used a ROM ported from other Xiaomi device with amoled and it worked fine too.
I'm not sure, in AOSP ROMs, it looks like actually due to some policy was retired from Android 10 so I didn't see it in any custom ROM like was present in Pie.
I'm actually using an app that works even better that native AOD created by Samsung so it has the feature (retired since years by Samsung), it can show only the notification in a black environment without light up all the screen, no battery drain at all, you need to disable on-screen notification from settings if you have enabled and prefer this (like me) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.achep.acdisplay&hl=en

Anyone tried it on A12 yet? Does it still bring any battery saving benefits?

...for some reason I can't paste a Link here via Android Chrome :S
I've had it installed and didn't really notice any difference. Removed module after a couple days

I installed it. To be honest haven't really focused on battery, so couldn't tell u if it's helping or not. I always have a charger nearby, so never really have to be paranoid of it making it x number of hours.
On a side note, I know there were issues where it would not work properly unless you have the find my device service turned off. So may need to do that as well to take advantage of what this module brings.
