Secure booting error: error code 1003 LG G3 US990 - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a LG G3 US990. For the life of me I can not figure out how to get rid of that error. The phone boots fine after about a minute on the LG screen, with that error in the top left corner, but I would like to get rid of it, so the phone actually boots like normal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm using CyanogenMod version 13, Android 6.0.1.

dang I have the same error on a d850, never figured out how to fix it, even tried the Mr_Bump zip file after a kernel flash, still no go

Secure booting error 1003 going to TWRP...
Hi! I'm having a similar issue. I successfully (I think!) rooted my Sprint LG G3 LS990 and installed TWRP 3.0.2-0. However, everytime to reboot to recovery, the "Secure booting error! Error code 1003" appears in the upper left corner for a few seconds, before booting into TWRP.
I want to flash to a custom ROM but am afraid to until I know whether I need to worry about the error or just ignore it. HELP???

Far as I know one needs to flash MR_bump to fix that error. You can download it from the first post in this thread...

Thanks Marc.
I download and try installing bump from mega as you recommended. I then go to twrp recovery boot and install but it stops like when I try the install for cloudy. I am not wiping anything though before installing bump. Am I supposed to wipe the system etc prior to installing bump?
I also try to flash bump via the flashify app, it reboots into twrp recovery, says it’s finished but quickly it reboots into the lg logo and boots up the system normally. Where or how do I know if bump was installed? The secure boot error message stills exists.
The link you included also says the zip for the LS990 that I used through twrp app isn’t any good and there was a new zip file released in June 2019. I downloaded from mega and flashed through the twrp app. How do I know if actually updated the twrp recovery to this new flash?
Thank you.

I’m thinking the boot loader isn’t unlocked and the bump isn’t loading properly. Maybe this is why the cloudy rom doesn’t flash. Too bad the phone companies make so many damn versions causing confusion for everyone.

[Q] Secure booting Error! after official update - TWRP installed

This morning my LG V500 offered a software update. I started the update process without thinking. When the tablet restarted to install the update I saw the LG logo and then was greeted with the following message on the screen:
Secure booting Error!
Cause : Device Unlock!, so Boot Success!!!
...after which I end up at the TWRP screen.
This happens every time I restart the tablet.
Before the update, I had Android 4.2.2 installed with kernel v3.4.0. I had installed TWRP v2.6.3.1 to root my phone. I have NO custom ROMs installed.
I'd prefer not to restart from scratch, but I guess that I can do a Factory Reset, Advanced Wipe or Format Data from TWRP to restore functionality to my tablet.
Any ideas on how I can avoid losing all my customizations?

What all have you tried?
A simple shut down and re-start possibly could fix it. Just a guess, but worth a try. You should update to TWRP's latest also.
same problem here
Same problem as original poster, just I was on 2.7.0.0 TWRP. Upgraded to 2.7.0.1 - same problem.
Restored from previous TWRP backup - same problem. Installed custom ROM - SAME PROBLEM!
Out of options at this point. HELP!

Ever since I rooted I've had that. In fact if you watch Ytube's video about rooting an LG G Tab, you will see guy say "Don't know what that is - but all works.
Now on a transformer101 I didn't see that.
But frankly, so what? You don't go to recovery that much -- that is the only time it shows.

Cal-123 - issue here is not just information message, but boot loop. No matter what I tried - it goes to main TWRP screen.
Looks like solution is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2622034&page=2 , will post update when done

I did a recovery with the LG tools. All my data was backed up so it wasn't a huge deal for me. I can't even remember why I rooted my GPad in the first place.

I Hope you worked things out, but your problem possibly could be that some Roms have a built-in recovery option - by that, I mean instead of just rebooting, they will boot into recovery. You might ck. that to see if it is enabled. This "SlimKat" ROM has the feature.
Good luck!

Cal-123, thanks, I was restoring backup done with TWRP - same problem (rebooting to TWRP screen, not to system). Still don't know root cause, but problem was resolved by flashing stock KK update by using B2CApp. Obviously root is gone, so back to reading forum
At least can play Deer Hunter again
Cheers!

[Q] LG G Pad 8.3 secure booting error cause boot certification verify

Hi,
I want to flash my device to Android 4.4.4 Stock Android(Who likes this annoying LG Bloatware?).
When i wanted to get into Recovery Mode using TWRP the LG Logo pops up and in the top-right corner stands:
"secure booting error cause boot certification verify".
I tried everything i know to get into recovery mode, but nothing helped.
Go through the "first time" recovery manual installation procedure found in the CWM thread for the v500. I'm assuming you have a v500.
I have this problem too. Lg gpad 8.3 vk 810

Thanks a million, after hours trying every single method I found across the Web, this was the only thing that managed to get TWRP 2.8 on my v50020d 4.4.2.
It would be interesting though for us to let us know what exactly is that, because I found many people with the same problem than me, and this appears to be the only solution

Well, my problem it was I was using this method (the only one which do not gave me any explicit error) to install TWRP, and when rebooting to recovery it was always loading the stock recovery. That app solved me that instantaneously.
I was a little scared to see first the message "secure booting error, device unlock, so boot success" but it did loaded after TWRP. I guess that is supposed to be that way.
Yep @Maxxd01 That "secure booting error, device unlock, so boot success" it means it bypass ur bootloader to boot into custom recovery

[Q] Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify

Hi, I am new to the whole root/custom recovery scene so don't really know what I'm doing, so I tried to use Flashify to flash TWRP on to my international LG G3 running 5.0 (rooted). Unfortunately, when booting into recovery I got a small message in the corner saying Secure booting error! Cause: boot certification verify, before my phone screen went black and my led started flashing blue and red. Holding down the vol - button seemed to fix it and the phone still boots fine, but it does this every time I try to boot into recovery. I just want to play around with custom ROMs and TWRP
Anyone got a fix for this, or know what is going on (bearing in mind that I am a complete noob with this stuff)?
Thanks in advance

Are you sure it'll be safe, given my current situation? I was led to believe it was an error that I'd only be able to fix with a factory reset.

I have used this method and had no issues. The reason you can't flash it with flashify is because it only works on KitKat for lg g3. People using lollipop has to use image prep method. There should be two tutorials, one for going back to kitkat and one for alowing you to flash it while on lollipop.

OK, just had a read of the Imageprep post and this all seems completely beyond me. Is there an alternative method, or if not, could someone simplify what I'd need to do with Imageprep to get TWRP working on 5.0?

TWRP Issue

Hello all,
I'm making this thread because i have an issue with my Recovery. Long story short:
I've successfully rooted my LG G3 D855. I've SU and rootacces. After this point i've used TWRP Manager to install TWRP. The application gave me a green sign that it installed successfully.
The problem at the moment is when i try to boot into recovery i can see this message: Secure Booting Error! Cause: boot certification verify.
After that the screen goes black and i can see a green and red LED flashing. The strange part is that i can still load in to download mode and i can use the phone normally.
I found a post by using google that use OneClick_Root_recovery but i'm not sure if i am safely use this since it will root the phone first(This has already been done).
I've also tried ImagePrePGUIv2.5 and chose the twrp only option. Sadly i still have the same problem.
Is there someone on XDA that have had this issue or someone that can help me resolve the problem?
Thank you for reading my post.
Have a nice day,
Thomas

which bootloader do you have?( on whick version did you root you phone 20x or 10x)
if you did it on 20x you need to flash the kitkat bootloader(there is a thread for that somewhere in lg g3 general )

Here is your answer
Pick your model and download AutoRec
Since you are just Rooting now i am assuming you are on Lollipop so this is perfect for you.

I want to thank you both because it's working !
This might be a newbie question but i'm a safe to install a rom now?
The reason i'm asking this question is because i totally forgot the bootloader when i started rooting and i'm wondering if i forgot something .

Ahhh great to hear! I was thinking about installing the current rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/development-d855-resurrection-remix-5-0-t2968533.
Do you maybe have a suggestion for a different rom or is this a really good rom?
Thanks again!

I think I messed up my lg gpad 7.0

I have been running in circles on rooting my LG gpad 7.0 and with a lot of trial and error. With that said, I came across the error : boot certification verify. and that's it. Wont load or go further than that. I think I broke my device, any thoughts or help?

That's the error you get when you try to boot with an unsiged boot image. I've gotten out of that by using cybojenix openbump script to sign boot images (only works for kitkat bootloader), and using TWRP flash a ROM with a bumped boot image or just restoring a working backup. However, since you're just getting rooted I'm guessing you don't have TWRP installed (if you do, fixing this would be way easier).
If you're on the lollipop generation bootloader and don't have TWRP, the only option I can think of is to use the kitkat kdz to reset your tablet. It sounds like a really long and involved process to get the internal storage back to normal following using it. Good luck.
