Hi Guys,
I actually have a HD7m but my dad quite liked the 4.3 inch screen and was now asking me to buy a similar handset. We went out and he was quite impressed with the Desire HD.
But the catch, when I researched online, I found out the battery issue on practically every thread and community.
Now my problem: He is an old man and can get cranky at times. Currently owes a Nokia C6 and is pissed with the touch screen. So is it wise to buy him Desire HD even with the bad battery life?
Or worse case scenario, I swap my HD7 for his Desire HD????
Should I go for it or should can you guys suggest something else equally fluid??
It doesn't have battery issues once calibrated. I have 1-5mA battery drain on standby, that's even when running MSN and CallerID2Voice App in the background. And I can still get hours out of it when using it. Just recharge it every-night. I doubt your dad will be a smartphone addicted guy.

Hey,
Thanx...no he isn't a smart phone addicted guy. But the battery was so obvious an issue, I had to ask the experts here. Also, what exactly do you mean by 'calibrated'?
I mean, I have been an Android user before, but not quite sure what calibration is ?
He is a simple user with checking some mails everyday, music and some websites may be...thats about it, HTC Sense and all makes no difference to him actually...
If its battery life your after, buy a Johns Phone, you get 3 weeks between charges.
After you battery has been "run in" and calibrated you will get at least a day with light usage. Remember this is a powerful smartphone.

The battery calibration concerns only those who are using a custom rom. (here's a short article with app that does it for you if you're interested). I wouldn't recommend the DHD for my own father. Whatever you do to it you'll almost always have to charge it overnight, with stock rom it could be even twice a day. This isn't a problem for smartphone enthusiasts, but for oldschool people (like my father) who think phones should last a week without charging this can be quite off-putting. The DHD is also starting to get kinda old already, so you might wanna take a look at some newer phones. A good alternative could be the Desire S, as it has almost the same features with a slightly better battery.
And to those who can't admit that the DHD has bad battery life I just have to say that the out-of-the-box battery life could and should be a lot better. To get it lasting as it should takes a bit of effort which shouldn't be required from a normal user.

Thanx so much...that was really helpful...albeit your explanation on battery life, I just wanted to add that he was in love with the 4.3 inch screen...and only HD7 is the other device with that screen size...So I think Desire S is also a good option...let me check with him...
Again, Thanx!
depend on what you consider a good battery life, some may say getting a day is good enough, but some define good as atleast 2 days.

Absolutely right. I'm tired of hearing people evangelising that the DHD's battery is fine. It patently is not. Even when you severly rein back the device's features (features which HTC flaunted to get us all hooked), one ends up with 25-30% at the day's end.... And if you have a 'heavy' day of calls/browsing etc, you'll have to top up to get through the day.
But I still regard HTC as just about the best of a bad bunch...
Ok, sorry to hijack this thread a little.
The battery is fine, there are no issues with the battery. Your problem with the battery is that its small. Before you bought the phone did you not look into the battery capacity? I did, I knew it was smaller than the Desire's battery. Out-of-the-box it will act like any other lithium-ion battery that is just out-of-the-box. That "bit of effort" , what, plugging in your charger when it requires a charge.
These guides to correctly charge lithium-ion batteries are largely mumbo jumbo (charge to 100%, turn off, charge again for 250,000 hours, turn on, drain battery, rinse & repeat). Just charge it overnight, when your asleep.
Any smartphone with comparable usage will last around the same time and require a daily charge. If you want a phone that will last days between charges, don't buy a smartphone.
If you turn off all the bells & whistles, use 2G only and use it only for calls & sms', just like a regular phone. It will last days between charges.
If you want a powerful smartphone with a large screen, and lots of features, your battery is going to pay for it.

I'm not sure anybody on this forum expects days of use between charges - we're not daft. What I expect is to not have power-saving mode kick in by late afternoon when I'm nowhere near a charger, and I've not used the thing particularly heavily.
It's not right to conclude that others didn't read up on the battery before purchasing. You have no basis for drawing such conclusions.

In any case, just because you don't mind charging your phone part-way through a day, doesn't mean that everybody else should be happy with that.

That's why I said that there are "oldschool people" (like my father) who think the battery should last a week. I don't mind charging the phone every night, but there are people who can't cope with such a "short" battery life. That's why the battery life of the DHD should be taken under consideration when buying a new phone.

I didn't mean that the battery was bad quality or anything, just that it is a bit too small for such a powerful phone. And yes I was aware of the battery capacity and I don't mind, but again there are people that require more from their phones.
And the instructions to close connections when you're not using them and turning down the screen brightness etc. are plain stupid. I bought a smartphone so that I can get my email whenever and wherever and to enjoy the big screen and not so that I can receive emails only when I choose to and so that I have to squint to see something from the screen when the brightness is set to the lowest. This is just a couple of the features I need ofcourse, but for me it's important to always receive emails instantly and not only when I can afford to spend some battery on internet connection.
When I was still running stock rom I could barely get through a day at work (8 hours). I had mobile network on the whole time and the screen brightness set at about 50% (which I think should be used at 100% all the time to really enjoy the screen) I talked for about half an hour during the days, sent 10 texts and listened to music/played/surfed on the internet for about 3 hours in all. When I got home I had to charge it. This ofcourse is everything one could need, but there are smartphones with better battery life.
Now of ofcourse when I have a custom rom that's tweaked and everything there's no problem with battery life, but that shouldn't be necessary to do and it's quite a lot to ask just so you can have a decent battery life. That's why I was talking about out-of-the-box battery life.

If you want to receive emails and text, I find that GSM is fine for that. If you want to go internet browsing, just switch on to 3G.
Smartphones these days have basically a different definition of battery life to the old nokia symbian and similar phones of old. Those could go up to a week. Smartphones on the other hand are considered awesome if they can last 3.
I do have to say ultimately I think HTC sold the battery life a bit short on the DHD. 1230mah I think is really just making way for all the other top-of-the-line features that it had when it came out.
HTC have released a great number of variants of this phone now, all with better iterations of design and also with bigger batteries because of this.
1400-1500mah (or even above) I think is really what you need with a 4.3" display phone. 1230 would be far more acceptable for a <4" display. Although it can be made quite livable for a day or two with an excellent custom rom, I don't really think it's enough for a basic consumer using the standard rom. That and the speaker/audio out are the two biggest pitfalls of the DHD imo.
Sensation is now HTC's newest 4.3" phone which has a good 1500mah battery. I hope Sense 3.0 doesn't wear it down too fast!
Ultimate thoughts: Although it's a great phone, I think it's a power user's phone more than anything. You will definitely only get the best out of it by customising to it's best potential, which is also when you get acceptable battery life. If you don't, it really does seem a waste.

I had the same sort of expectancy out of the battery using it moderately during a day at work out of the box. However with custom ROM installed I have found the battery to last easily the whole day with the same usage and probably have approx 40 - 50% left after 15hrs on battery.

I am extremely sorry but I disagree with u completely. You are talking as if you buy an expensive car but dont drive it too much as it eats a lot of fuel. If you want to just drive around, why dont you just get yourself a mopet. The point is, i have bought an expensive car TO DRIVE it around. If I buy a smartphone and not use its SMART features, why am I buying it for??? If I practically shut all the reasons why I bought this phone, WHY the hell am I buying it??
There is an old saying that comes to mind that it takes guts to stay in the minority. If the battery is flawed, ACCEPT it.
Anyways, I have got my answer. Thanx for your reply nonetheless.
As everyone says depends on usage.
For one thing i went from 80mA down to 8mA just by updating the radio which came stock.
Now with a different rom and kernel I get -1mA on standby, juicedefender is also a nice app. The battery life depends on your setup though, I easily get 2 days of moderate use/music/games/calls etc.

Hey thanx man...But was just wondering, with very moderate usage, will it still be over in no time?
Also, the other thing worrying me is the memory card issue...I cant afford to lose one card after another once I buy an expensive phone, u know what I mean...
The battery life is acceptable with moderate use on stock rom, if you're a power user you will have to stay close to a charger
There's no memory card issue from the DHD's part, it's just the crappy "freebie" sdcard (samsung?) which comes with the phone that stops working. The people who are complaining that the DHD breaks sdcards are those who buy cheap, bad quality sdcards or get a warranty replacement for the original one, which will be just as bad. The solution to this is to buy a better quality microsd card (costs about 15€) if the original stops working. Mine's still working great though.

After receiving a replacement 'new' phone, and having problems with my SD Card from the very second it switched on, I complained to HTC about the issue and the man on the end of the phone admitted around 500,000 phones that had been dispatched has been shipped with KNOWN issues & SD Card incapabilities. If you went out today and bought a brand spanking new card, in theory the phone WOULD NOT and the SD Card WOULD NOT fail.

I don't mean to hijack you here mate, but you assume/claim that:
'HTC marketed the DHD on the basis that it's architecture was such that it didn't need a higher-capacity battery to do its job.'
Well I take it that you assume this on the basis that Leprechauns are real and are roaming New York city as we speak? If HTC were doing any market research at all, they would realize that even devices with smaller screens have a bigger battery than the one they have put into the DhD, including the Desire Z & Desire's batteries?
I remember when I was looking at reviews for the original Desire, as I fancied one, the main complaints were the battery life, and the fact people only got a day's charge on it. So I thought fair do's, big screen, big price to pay? If HTC had done any research, they would have realized that people wanted better battery life, a better quality screen, better sound quality?
You want to know what the real reason is behind HTC putting a small battery inside the Device? Well it's the fact that the entire thing was rushed, and I mean rushed? There's evidence of this in the build quality, the software, the placing of different things within the phone and also the bad batch issues HTC experienced.
The HD was leaked in September/October, it was released by November, this is not normal for any device that becomes 'leaked'. HTC used a bad screen, imported most of the software from the original Desire, obviously making edits to make it Sense 2.0, but you can clearly see they didn't change everything? If you set the Android Pattern Lock Screen, you can see that it doesn't fill the whole screen, the IME is the standard HTC one with some arrows slapped in at the bottom? They didn't even change the size of the keyboard?, this is more evident if you use the IME in landscape mode, its hard.
What sort of company places an Antenna in the Battery Cover? It's true, remove your Battery Cover and you'll loose all signal? Pretty risky move for HTC, seeing as the Battery Cover is VERY easy to 'accidently' break, and frankly your screwed then right? It's like they designed the phone, forgot the Antenna, then quickly though 'Where the f*** is this going?' and decided to place it there? In my opinion, and a few others, they did this with the battery, they made the device too thin, and in reality they just couldn't fit everything in. The Desire S which is slightly thicker, packs a brilliant battery. Problem solved.
The build quality of the phone, is not one of a £500 price tag. Some parts of the phone squeak whereas others just do not feel adequate to the pricing of the device. There again we live in a world where no matter how much you pay, something always seems to be wrong.
Sorry if I have offended any HTC lovers, all attacks on my and opinions against me are welcome, don't get me wrong, I love my phone and I can cope with charging the battery every night. Chao.
What are you guys seeing in your first few days with your M9?
As for me, I can't remember any device I have ever owned that has had worse battery life than this M9. 3 hours of "light-slightly moderate" use brings me down to 75%. Very disappointing thus far.
definitely a downgrade from the M8 battery life. However once we are able install custom rom's and kernels ect. I expect it will improve.

Interesting. Compared to my de-bloated, undervolted, S-Off and custom ROM'ed (Adrenaline) M8, I am seeing similar battery life comparatively on my M9. I did disable a lot (if not all) of the Bloat on the M9, so not sure if that helps the cause.
Horrible. I have to charge my phone about after 5-6 hours of use. I work in IT so I know Exchange is hammering the battery, but on my M8, I could last 8-9 hours before charge. This is includes browsing /r/sysadmin and other reddits.
For some reason too, it seems the QuickCharge 2.0 is slower on the M9. On my M8, it was stupid quick.
My experience has been mostly positive with the M9. First, I disabled all the VZW bloatware and then let the battery run very low and fully charged it. I repeated this 3 more times over the weekend. I took my battery off the charger at 6:00 AM and with medium use, I still have 84% left. The M8 was slightly better when running GPE so it's not apples to apples, yet.

My usage and battery life is comparable to yours. After 9 hours of only texts and phone calls I'm down to 50%.
I honestly think its too early to tell. I've disabled most, if not all, of the bloatware and I'm seeing "decent" but not "great" battery life. The phone still has the "new phone vibe" though, so I'm likely picking it up more frequently than I normally would. I'm also coming from the m7 though, not the m8, so my expectations are probably different. Custom ROMs and kernels are definitely going to change this though.
Cores can be completely disabled in custom kernels, which will likely provide a big boost with little performance loss (how often do you really think all four of those high-performance cores are being utilized?). Likewise, tweaking max clock speeds, undervolting, and tweaking/changing the governor will likely help things a lot too. We're just too used to our old ROM'd phones. It definitely seems like we'll be able to squeeze much more battery life out of the m9.
After reading some of the replies I think I'll go through and disable everything I can since I only did that to a moderate degree before. I am hoping that once we get some optimized kernels and different features it will help. Also, full root access to Greenify could help, but so far it's a horror show.

Weird, I've been on it moderately all day and on 10% as of right now. Maybe I'm just used to horrible battery of the iphone

Feels about the same as my m8 maybe even a tad less honestly. Might just be from overuse running stock rom though.
Something with these new phones is killing the battery. I got the S6 and the battery is horrible as well, I can't even go a full day without recharging.
Every OS release Google talks about all these features that are supposed to improve battery life, but it only seems to make them worse.
Stock non rooted, disabled as much bloatware as I could. Haven't Set up any of my Tasker profiles (lack of root makes them useless for now) and I got a full 1day 5hrs before dropping below 15 percent. Battery life seems pretty much par for the course on a flagship phone. I also had an s6 edge for a couple of days but picking it up off the counter was a weird experience for me so I switched back to HTC. Aside from the heating problem which I believe will be resolved either by the community or HTC I love the phone.

The fact of the matter is yes, Google is making improvements in regards to battery life... but these improvements are offset and negated by consumer demand for faster, more powerful phones. The Snapdragon 810 is a beast of a mobile processor; its got two quad-core CPUs in it, so it definitely has to use some power to operate.
I can't wait to get a custom ROM my M9 and (hopefully) disable two of the A57 cores and see what happens (and see how performance is affected, if any).
I must say that I like it so much better than the SGS3! I can go a day and a half with out charging it... S3 was every day!
Even using GPS is less consuming... . Well worth the wait for HTC to get it right!
Other reasons that I like it better than the S3:
1. You can actually keep a grip on the M9!
2. The M9 is not as fragile!
3. Love the feel!
4. The audio is excellent (in my opinion better than any other available)!
5. The 3.5mm plug has a firm fit!
6. The charge port and audio port are both on the bottom!
I will stop there - I love this phone! (M9)
I'm literally sitting here with my phone plugged in, only with WiFi on and chrome browser, bloat disabled, screen on low, force closed most processes (ie play store, etc) and watching my battery % get lower... Plugged in!

Plugged into what, though? The 500mA maximum of the USB2 ports on your desktop/laptop is not enough to charge this phone with the screen on. You can slow-charge it at 500mA with the screen off, but it still takes some time. USB3 ports technically have a max draw of 900mA, which should be enough to slowly charge with the screen on, but in practice some laptops/motherboards won't allow any more than 500mA on their USB3 ports either. Use a wall charger for best results -- check the output rating though.
The included wall charger with the m9 is rated for [email protected] (1500mA). I'm not a fan of charging my devices extremely quickly, so I'll probably stick with the 1A (1000mA) charger that came with my m7.

Using included wall charger and cable.
Plugged it in this afternoon, turned off screen and walked away... in 2 hours it gained 2% from 47 to 49
Edit:
Very well could be faulty device. Using different cables/outlets in different rooms yields same results. M7 on same setup charges steadily during heavy use. Using m7 outlet now. Dropped from 17% to 14% while editing this post. Better screen off now so it doesn't die on me...
I usually wake up by watching a few youtube videos. This morning I woke up, grabbed my phone off the charger and watched a 16 minute video at 1080p with adaptive brightness (which was low). In the 16 minutes my battery went from 100% to 83%. That is atrocious. Hopefully new ROM's and kernels will be able to remedy this.
Also, the other day I was using a quick charger I got at Verizon with my phone and got the message I was using the phone too much to charge. I could understand if it was plugged into a USB port on my computer. How did I get this message while using a quick charger?
Hi Guys!
I'm currently looking for a new phone. I can only buy midrange phones atm and since the G4 and S6 are released, I expect both of their predecessor's price will go lower. Apparently, I'm torn between the previous flagships, G3 and S5, which is still of course still capable now. I really like the G3 over the s5 but I am bothered by the battery life that most people say is bad. I mostly need the phone to school at around 12 hrs off the charger. At school I usually just text and call a few times, take pictures and notes, occasional time wasting games on breaks and also I listen to music on trips to and from school [approx 1.5 hrs of music]. My question is, will the G3's battery be capable of that amount of usage? Or will I benefit on the S5 on this? Thanks in Advance!

That's very similar to my daily usage pattern and my G3 never died on me. You can expect between 4-5h of screen on time. It really depends on your signal, if you live in a poor signal area, any phone will take a hit in battery life.
The majority of people who complain about G3's battery life came from a G2 or similar phones, and they're used to getting 6+ h of screen on time. For them, it was a downgrade in the battery department.

Now I'm starting to get really excited to get this phone more, well, another question, are there any major gripes on this phone? Also coming from an old phone with a really mediocre battery life (Xperia Sola), I think the battery life of this is definitely enough. Based on what I read before, It's mostly the battery, but as you said, based on my usage, I would get throughout the day easily, so the batteries are crossed out. Any other major thing (flaw?) you would say?

It's all relevant, some things that annoy some people might not be an issue for others, and vice versa.
For me, there are 2 things i don't like about the G3, but they are not that big of a deal, i can live with them. The first is i would've liked if the display can get a bit brighter (especially on very sunny days). The second, coming from the last 4 generations of nexus devices, i miss the software fluidity of stock android, despite that i appreciate some of the feature additions LG has thrown in their "skin".
All in all, i would take the G3 over the Galaxy S5 anytime.
Ok, I went to a local LG store in my place and played on the LG G3 a bit. The G4 was there, and I'm drooling over it, the leather back was so nice. Ok ok back to my question. After using it for a few minutes, I noticed the brightness to be low and I checked it, it was at 90%. My problem is as I am trying to increase it, there's a warning shown that the temp was high so I can't increase it more. My question is, does it happen often? The overheating?
As an LG G 3 power user I can confirm that the phone will indeed heat up from time to time, however, the phone you played with was most likely plugged in to a charger from what I can read.
Any phone that's being charged up and used at the same time will get hot, it simply puts more strain on the battery.
You should be able to get the 12 hours you need out of your device on a full charge, especially with the power save g to that come with it, however don't expect do go a full day (24hrs) without it having to hit the cradle.
I hope this helps.

Indeed it was plugged. So I guess it is indeed because of that. It's ok for me if I need to charge it everyday, as long as it can last for 12 hrs. Thanks!

You can expect much much much better battery life with G3 or S5 than your soon-to-be-ex-phone Xperia Sola.
Both G3 and S5 almost the same battery life, even though G3 is better in standby time.
If you buy G3, immediately update it to latest version. Your phone will not overheat ever, like mine never did
Only hard gaming for a 1hr+ time can make it overheat.
Well...Depends. I don't think it'll last for 12 hours. You get 5hours of SOT only on the lowest brightness setting, higher the brightness lower the SOT. For me in school it lasts for 8 hours max, then gotta charge it. Also it's true I'm using it most of the time for 4G so that may be why.

I really think it's battery life would be enough, as what you all said, also since I can manage to use my sola for that amount of time which has a ridiculously short battery life. Hahaha! XD. Also thanks for the info! I'll definitely update it, to get a taste of the lollipop's sweetness.

I only use 3g (H+ is enough for me), so definitely/ probably I can get it pass that 12 hr mark. Signal was a bit of a problem though at school, since the school is near a jail, they seem to have network jammers installed. Weird.
I've had brand new and returb tab pro 8.4 and they always start losing track of the battery charge, screen flickering, random reboots.
I have a theory that this tablet can be damaged by other USB chargers .. Clearly tons are breaking based my experience as well as Samsungs reaction to the fact that I had these probkems.
Does anyone have one that works correctly? Im considering giving up on Samsung Support. No reason to chase down yet another 90 minute tablet.
Included pic of some battery stuff.. it's actually worse than the screenshot.
thx for your thoughts

Same problem here flickering the restart itself. Help guys...
I don't know about every single one being defective. I would think/hope not, and that there are some out there that work as intended. But I certainly couldn't say mine belongs to that (non-defective) group; as mine suffers the common battery charge issue. Between that issue, and the nearly complete and utter lack of OS updates; this is quite possibly going to be my last Samsung device.
Its always hard to tell how common defects are, from looking at web forums; since the tendency is for folks to complain only when there is an issue (leaving many instances where the devices run fine, and go unvoiced). But based on the numberous reports here, I'd have to say the number of defective Tab Pro 8.4 devices is "above average" at the very least.
Most problems you have with the Tab Pro's can be fixed by switching to CM12.1 or CM13. It may seem odd that we need a custom ROM for this, but at least it fixes many problems. If you have battery problems, check out the link in my signature. Many of us have solved most battery problems by reseating the battery.
The only defect here was battery life time. After re-seating it, no problems at all. No reboots, or locks, great battery life, charges on a breeze... all of these on stock Samsung ROM.
I won't talk about samsung policy of updates, bloatware or anything, but I'm very happy with this tab and its specs
Put CM13 on mine, it's rock solid.

I was able to send mine to samsung a week before the year warranty was up, i had been experiencing all those same issues. When they sent it back, the notes said they had replaced a defective motherboard and battery. Its worked great since then, going on 5 months now with not a single random reboot or battery errror (knock on wood).
Aside from hating Touchwiz, mediocre battery life, and no updates, mine has been trouble-free.
I'm now on CM13 with no problems. Battery life is still mediocre (about 5-6 hours SOT with dim screen reading / web surfing) compared to my 2013 Nexus 7 under MM (8-12 hours) but that's it.

Try reseating your battery, the 8.4 should definitely be able to get about 10 hours of SOT with reading and websurfing with low screen brightness.
My problem is gone. Last night i went to a repair man. I re solder it battery Terminal to motherboard. Now i don't experience any flickering and rebooting itself.
Issue is practically resolved. Most of this trouble comes from the battery cable not being correctly assembled to the motherboard.
Look for the thread that says, Reseating my battery did wonders for my Tab Pro, and there is the answer, apllied by many people, all with success
Mine's fine. But it was never stock from minutes after it came out of the box. I immediately installed TWRP, CM13, and SuperSU. Everything works as it should so far.

The thread on battery reseating had more to do with erratic charging than with battery life. In the event, I just enabled power saver and Greenify. I'm now getting about 10 hours SOT with fairly dim screen for reading or streaming NetFlix, so I'm really a happy camper. No problems with CM13
I own two of these tablets and they have been great for the most part, the only issues I have are that it lacks OS updates (I really want to be able to have 6.0 and Samsung Kids Mode at the same time) and that one of those tablets has odd behavior with the SD card when in Kids mode.
Hello XDA!
I'm here seeking for some advice.
I'm a happy owner of an LG G4 since November 2015.
Phone has been running great (minus boot-loop, now fixed, last September).
Recently I've been noticing battery drains much faster, with the same usage as usual.
I know battery life is a thing, but having never changed a battery, I'm not sure if that means it's time to replace it yet.
I've been using 'Accubattery' for a few days, and out of 3000mAh, it reports 1980mAh, 66% health. Voltage is pretty much always at 3/4 (above 4mV, the bars turns orange sometimes aswell. Not sure if that means something)
Having never used this app before, I wanted to have a second opinion about this result, before I spend money on a new battery.
Notes:
- Last week I decided to try Resurrection Remix, and battery has been going pretty great. Although I reverted back to stock due the lack of a proper camera app/loss of camera features.
- I've been testing various kernels these days. SimpleGX is the one I've been using for the longest, and the early days (months ago) battery life has been great with it. I still use SimpleGX, but battery life drains by 1% every 10 minutes the screen is on more or less.
- In the past, when I was still using the phone fully stock, it used to get really hot (once it even triggered the 'overheating' error). I heard heat could drastically reduce battery life, so maybe... Overheating hasn't been an issue since I started using SimpleGX.
Thanks in advance.
I think all of us LG G4 owners who had owned it for more than a year has been complaining of short bad battery life just like me, on Accubattery app my battery health is currently at 72% (2152 mah out of 3000 mah), like I get maximum 3.5 hours SOT , So I think it's best time for most people to buy a new battery but for me I'm used to a power bank. In few months time I can't wait to purchase an LG G6! I'm giving more time to the LG G4 because in few months time let's see if my battery health drops below 72% of health. Can't say if the battery used to the heat from the CPU specially while charging? That heat might have degraded the capacity of the battery Happy that the LG G6 has thermal pipes and a much better CPU SD 821 that might not heat the battery in long term use
It could be time. If you ever played games heavily like pokemon go or done anything in general which sustained heat long term, it will slowly kill your battery health. With that being said these batteries do tend to go bad pretty quick especially after around the 1 year mark. I personally opted for the power bear extended battery and and nothing but good to report since then. I highly would recommend going for a new battery. Easy and cheap solution
Not a fan of Pokemon Go, but while using it completely stock, it often went hot for long time.
It stopped only after I started using a custom kernel, but I'd say I spent about 6 months with that already.
Not a fan of those extended battery, mainly due the aesthetic factor, but that's more a personal thing.
I will be ordering a new battery soon (Aukey one). Thanks for the advice
