Just wondering if I need to download a separate app to do that.
+1 to this question!
No, the default app only has classic panorama mode, no 360°. You'll need another app (like Google camera) to do that.

That's the question, camera app sucks (Xperia S camera app could be ported?).
If you take a photo and you zoom it quality really sucks, HTC Chachacha and LG OB takes better photos, and both have 5 mpx, I think the app compress photos so much, any solution ?

My brother has a HTC Chacha and its camera sucks, But I think the main reason the Camera is **** is because this device is mainly for gaming and not Camera, I wish it had a decent camera though.

Ya, but it takes better photos, compare, 5 mpx MUST HAVE better quality, another example, my iPod Touch 4 takes better photos and it has 0,3 mpx.

Build.prop edits will make your camera take higher res photos which look great
ro.media.enc.jpeg.quality=100
ro.media.dec.jpeg.memcap=10000000
First attach is an abandoned bridge, Second is my nephew (dont worry He's not worried his face is on XDa ) They are 2592 x 1944 and look pretty good for a 5mp if you ask me

Will try, thanks in advance.
They dont appear using build.prop Edito.r
I take mine in 1024x768 but I never had the feeling that the pictures look bad /crappy.
But I also have both of those lines in my build.prop that 216monster postet. Removed the stock cam and am using 360cam. Its all good for me
// you have to use Root explorer or a programm like that, make the path r/w and then you can add lines to build.pro
I'll make this easy. The camera doesn't suck. First, the play is NOT meant to zoom, and when it does it's a DIGITAL zoom meaning it has to pixelate the images along with cropping down the image due the non adjustment of the camera's optics. The pictures that monster took as you can tell aren't zoomed and to be frank look pretty freakin sweet for being from a phone and not an actual camera which obviously is solely made for taking pictures. It's like saying why are the graphics on the play not as good as a ps3..

Higher Megapixel doesn't equal a better camera.
I've had a 3.2mp camera that took better pictures than the Play

I can agree to that. People still swear by their Lg Dare cameras which was a 3.2 I believe. Higher MP is mostly for larger sized prints..

I don't think it's a terrible camera. Here's two I took on my play using the stock camera app on the ICS Beta.
Slightly edited in Adobe Lightroom to add a bit more punch

The problem I have with the Xperia Play camera is that the camera doesn't auto-focus very well. It always comes out blurry.
Is there a way to fix this ?

Perhaps set Manual Focus to Infinity and leave it there (unless you are doing a closeup shot)? The depth of field should be very large and keep everything in focus.
At work, distracting myself myself with XDA, so can't test.
Since everybody knows that GS3 has quite a few problems with the stock application, i wonder what would you suggest being the best camera app available around?
I have to say that i tried so far quite a few:
Camera ICS+ - not impressed at all. Seems like the photos come out more blurry than they would using the default camera app
lgcamera pro - really buggy, but has a lot of potential in my view
camera360 - pretty good considering it is free, but not without it's issues
camera zoom fx - which i find the best, because it seems to take it's time to focus and the photos do come out a little bit better. Also, nice stabilization feature.
ProCapture - Camera & Panorama - produced a few good shots too

Remote Viewfinder is the best camera application for my galaxy s3. By using this app we will be able to control focus, geotagging, focus, timer, flash and photo size all from the app
Try "procapture" coupled with "photo gallery(fish bowl)" .
Buy "procapture" and take some pictures in different environment.then return it within the 15 min window.
Check the pictures u have taken and be amazed.
Photo gallery is free.
Been using "procapture" for 5 month and nothing comes close to this camera.
Fast burst and panorama supported.video not
+1 on ProCapture.....it was my favourite app until recently .....all of a sudden im getting FC's on Omega V31 but when it did work it was freaking Awesome

I picked up the DSLR Camera app in the Samsung apps and I really like it, but I seem to recall that someone has said elsewhere that it is no longer available. I'm not sure, but if it is out there it is a great camera app.

Has anyone found a really good gallery app that works well with the Pixel?
I don't like Google Photos and I tried using Piktures but it causes issues when i try deleting images.
Is anyone able to get the new Samsung Gallery from the S7 working on the Pixel?
Thanks
I use QuickPic, have for years.

This is the AOSP gallery app. Works well on my Pixel XL
Play store just search gallery and its the first one 4.3 stars it's amazing! Try it you'll thank me later
APP name: Gallery, from Fayvr Media Ltd.
Called MyRoll Gallery before, and the only disadvantage is the ad. Sometime it's annoying.
I use HTC Gallery
Another vote for QuickPic. I've been using it for years and it works great. Even on folders with thousands and thousands of pictures in it.

I was actually looking for that.
Used to have it on my HTC 10 and was pretty happy with it.

Samsung gallery is the best but sadly not installable in other brand phones
I use camera roll. I think it's good.
QuickPic is from Cheetah Mobile which is a untrustworthy company isn't it?
I don't have an issue with google pictures personally. what are people's problems with it?

It wasn't always the case. There's a resigned version of the app in the XDA forums which will block the updates to when CM acquired Quicpic.
Anyone running LineagsOS have you tried and compared various camera apps? Which one do you think is the best? I've been using Open Camera. It seems to have less noise than the LineageOS (AOSP) camera app.
LineageOS camera app is Snap Camera
You can try it
Footej camera app is the best for custom roms.

I found open camera best solution too. I tried at least 7 of them. Lineage camera, in preview, is zoomed in, on my phone. So taken pictures are bigger. It's annoying when I won't certain details in picture. Then I have to crop it... I looked for simple, small photo/video app with numerous options.
Open Camera it is.
