Hi all First off English is not my primary language.
My brother is on ship in Brazil. His phone is locked on croatian network and when he inserts new sim card that he bought it requires him to enter unlock PIN.
His phone is s4 mini I9195 with cyanogenmod 11 installed. Phone is rooted by Super SU.
Since I have read on some sites that it is better to have stock rom for unlocking phone I am asking if unlock is possible on cyanogenmod 11. Softwares such as galaxyunlock and regionunlock have not done anything good.
Would it be possible to purchase unlock code and make it work WITHOUT croatian network signal? If yes, please provide me link. Has anyone had any success unlocking the SIM without original network signal in range?

i need your help,i requested the t-mobile for unlock code 2 weeks back and got 1 today...they problem is for 2 weeks i was jus playin with the phone,as i am not in US...and was testin many custom roms on my phone...now when i insetred forign sim the phone is not asking me for any code(currently on on energyrom )plz help me get my phone unlocked
do i need to flash back to official rom?

had same problem (using Italian Vodaphone SIM) - was able to get phone to ask for unlock code when I inserted an older AT&T SIM which had been deactivated.

if that operator dose not support by your network u can use amss.bin from that operator when u have network problem

no it not supported with our operator and how i use amss.dll ? i am not professional and if it not possible to unlock it i will not buy this mobile

but i don't recommend flashing locked at all

firstly i know this is an old thread but i am desperate...
i am runnig bada v2 on my wave!
when i got the wave it was locked to 3 network in uk but my girlfriend wanted to use it for a while when her iphone broke so i got it unlocked at a local store... now my girlfriend has finished using the phone and when i put my 3 sim back in it i get no service and emergency calls only???
is this because i had it unlocked?? if so can i use amss.bin to restore 3 network funcionality??

I have the i9195, but it's locked with Orange.
I've read Arco's tutorial about how to root it.
I'm understanding it and then I'll be able to install CyanogenMod
But how can I unlock it prior ? I don't think Cyanogen will unlock it for me, isn't ?
Last question, is Cyanogen supporting several language? I prefer to keep it in French.

I have looked in the other suggestions by the XDA forum and I haven´t been able to find a case similar to mine. Thus I post my case:
I have a Note2 i317M (LTE) that is locked with TELCEL (Mexico). Since I came to Sweden I needed to be able to unlock it for an swedish SIM card. I did requested a code to cellphone unlock using my IMEI, but after months of wait due to SMASUNG servers being down, I got a reply that it was not possible to get a code.
Then I tried to unlock the phone myself. Therefore I rooted, installed the DN4 ROM hoping to have an unlocked Modem, but when I inserted another SIM card it request an unlock code. Then I tried installing the DN3 without and with a full wipe (in my second attempt) without success (still got an unlock code requested). After this I tried the *# method but when I finish input the last # nothing happens. Then I tried to flash a Rogers modem and now I have it like this, but still requires unlock code and the *# still doesn´t work. Other modems (MJ9 and Telcel´s ML2) make me loose my IMEI and STILL requires unlock code. The phone is still unlocked and it sucks in a country where everybody has 4G . Can anybody help me? Would really appreciate it! Thank you in advance. The phone specs are as follows:
