Galaxe s6 no option to save contacts to sim or import/export From Sim
when i hit export, the phone sends a .vcf file. (to itself) there is no further menu option to save to sim
anybody got any ideas?
it Sprint sim but im using it with another sim now
I can make calls and get messages and otherwise the phone works fine
thanks
While the UICC used by Sprint looks like a SIM, it doesn't work like one. It is only there to allow LTE data access (voice, messaging, and 3G is all handled by the phone's activation itself). It doesn't store contacts...which is why you don't have an option to save contacts to it. Simple as that.

I have the dash flashed to the Rogers wm6 ROM which is about 10x smoother/faster than the Tmoboile wm6...
But anyway, one thing i always hated with the tmobile was that if i was type alpha characters to find contact to dial, during my query, it would Automatically popup with (see below, dont know how to take a screenshot):
Dialer (Title)
Confirm
--------------------------------
Dial XXX at (yyy) - yyy-yyyy?
--------------------------------
Yes | No |
--------------------------------
How do i disable this? its really annoying because 99% of the time, the name that its asking to dial is incorrect and usually the same, ...ex. ill type the letters S A R for sarah, as soon as i see sarah in the list, this damn auto thing comes up saying (before i get the chance to select), Dial Chris at (xxx) -xxx-xxxx?
I was hoping this would go away with the rogers wm6, but alas it has not..
thanks for any help.
sim number
It try to dial number in sim card. example if you type ra, it also mean 3#. (dial number location 3 in sim). I solve it by delete all numbers in Sim card. Hope this help.
Ah that makes sense, is there any way to disable that without deleting my SIM contacts and using phone mem?
i don't have this problem and i have all my contacts backed up on the sim.
i don't know the solution... but just wanted to point out that i don't think you should have to delete all your sim contacts to fix. unless it has something to do with you ONLY having your contacts on your sim. i use the phone for my contacts and just have everything on the sim for backup only.
I try to disable SIM contact in setting-phone-call option but it does not help.
I think this is very popular issue, but I don't find any solution.
I use my SIM to store all phone numbers.
I will be very very very happy to use SIM as default destination of all new contacts.
No whats happening:
I save number in phone.
Next I copy this number in to SIM with SIM manager
Next I delete the number from phone memory
3-4 minutes for one contact and many potential mistakes....
Thank you.
Anyone?
I can't believe there is no solution
I tried a while ago for a friend of mine to et that working and didn't have any luck...
I think most people aren't going to use the SIM to store contacts as you can't do any of the advanced stuff with sim contacts(custom ringtones, attaching a pic, etc.)
i had the same problem and i finally chose to copy my sim contacts to my phone's memory and delete everything from sim... the only good thing (in my opinion) is the hability to add pictures to contacts..
I can't seem to send messages on SIM2 or choose how my call gets through, there is no sim icon in either messaging or in the call settings. I have H818N.
I can assign contacts permanently to either SIM - which gets used for calling but not for SMS.
Also any way to assign SMS also to particular sim for particular contacts?
EDIT: I can change global setting on which sim to use through the notification icons, but any way to do it on a per call/sms basis?
PS1: I have updated the firmware to the latest version
PS2: Any dual sim good SMS app?
Same problem here on h818n.
Did you find out yet?
As you said, you can assign the default sim for calls and sms from the quicksettings in the status bar dropdown. Couldn't find a way to make the dialer just ask wich sim to use each time tho.
As sms app i like the Google Messenger app.
As dialer i'm trying TrueDialer.
On both u can tap the sim icon and pick a sim b4 calling\sending the sms.
Has this issue been solved through software updates by LG, Or do we have to resort to using third party apps?
Nopes not yet. I still can't put a default sim for SMS. Also if I have set a default sim for a contact, I can only use that sim, which is a major inconvenience. There should be an easy way to call from the other sim.
Also would suggest using the default sms app - dual sim support of other apps is sketchy at best.
Hi.
In a dual sim phone there is an option to choose a default card for calls or not to, with a must to do it before taking a call.
Is there a way to set some of the contacts (fe. favourite ones) to be automatically called through sim card 1, and the rest, to be called through the card I choose while making a call?
Thanks.
I can't find an option on the default dialler
I don't believe that's a system setting/option. It would have to be in the phone/diar app, which isn't on the stock one. Or a dual sim app that has it and I don't know of any.

They're talking about having select contacts (not all calls) set to always use a certain sim then for the rest of the contacts or when dialing a number not in contacts to always be asked what sim to use. Like a mix of the two options. When you select a default calling sim then ALL call use that sim until you change that setting, which isn't the same thing they asked.
Not sure how many people out there got eSIM working with AT&T on their Fold 3. But 2 or so weeks ago I went into AT&T and got them to get eSIM working on my Fold 3. It's been working great till recently. I think it might have been with adding a 2nd line (Tello).
SIM1 = Tello
eSIM = AT&T
right now Tello works great. AT&T... I can get Text and data but I can't make any phone calls or receive any phone calls. Anyone else using the DUAL setup?? I went in to get a new eSIM and same thing. Can't make or receive call but I can text and receive text and get data.
I have removed the Tello Sim card for good measure. Rebooting a good dozen times and no matter what I can't get AT&T to dial out or get calls.
Any ideas??
Honestly sounds like the esim from att wasn't provisioned correctly. I'd try to get them to remove it from their system and readd it

i was warned about this scenario by an ATT Manager; he said that the physical sim had to be an ATT sim. i have an unlocked ATT Z Fold 3, however, i haven't tried using another carrier's sim/esim. I also have a network unlocked, ATT S22U with a T-Mobile eSim and an ATT physical sim. phone calls and text msgs work fine, as long as i use Samsung Messages (no the Google version). if i use Google's version of messages, group chats don't always work.
I have an unlocked fold 3 and use a Google Fi physical sim, and had a GSMA (AT&T) eSIM with Red Pocket. Both worked perfectly fine with no problems. Phone calls, texts and data were flawless on both networks.
Google Messages does have an issue it with dual sim. For example while connected to the mobile network if your preferred sim is set to the physical sim, but you try to send an mms with the number associated with the eSIM you will have to switch to the eSIM to send it. Chat messages are effected the same way. Text messages don't seem to be impacted that I have encountered. Receiving messages seems to be effected in the same manner. Google Messages works normally when connected to WiFi and using RCS Chat
Since we can only have one data connection active on one sim at the same time, Google Messages gets weird about it. The issue is not present with Samsung Messages or Textra. Until Google updates the Messages app to fix the issue you will have to either change the preferred sim back and forth, use RCS on WiFi only, use Samsung Messages or use another 3rd party messaging app that has dual sim properly working.
Also be aware changing the preferred sim will also make it the default for messaging and phone calls. For some reason we lack the setting to specify which sim for calling and messaging. So if your eSIM is the primary number you use and switch to the physical sim, all your calls/messages will come from the physical sim. Using the shortcuts i mention below won't fully resolve this either. You can use an app like multi sim selector to help with the calling, but the messages you will have to be aware of what number your messaging from (sim 1 or sim 2) or the above suggestions.
@OP - Might be worth getting a hold of AT&T and asking them to make sure the eSIM is provisioned correctly on your (and AT&T) end. If it was working and then not it sounds like an AT&T issue.
I'm not sure if this applies here, but I've read a few comments on the AT&T forums AT&T prepaid doesn't play well with eSIM. I can't verify that to be true or not since I don't have the prepaid service through AT&T.
Meanwhile make sure you have set the eSIM up properly in the sim card manager. At first my eSIM did not have the APN selected as active, I had to manaually mark it as such... Secondly does the call/text issue occur when the eSIM is set as the primary sim? If so go through and double check the sim card manager settings so you have DSDS enabled.
You might want to get an app like Quick Shortcut Maker and look for "Mobile Network".. There are a few sim manager settings that might help resolve some issues your having. I attached an image to help find the shortcuts.
