CM12.1 Button backlight - Galaxy S 4 Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just installed CM12.1 and realized that the button backlight of my S4 Mini LTE turns on as soon as I touch the display. On stock rom this would only turn on if I touch one of these buttons. Is it possible to change this to default behavior which makes a lot more sense? I don't want to disable the backlight completly because then BLN mod doesn't work anymore.

Bump, this happens on CM13 too and it's really annoying.

On CM13 you can enable the nav-bar in button settings, which will completely disable the buttons and the backlight.
Doing the way Samsung does it, is a feature CM don't want to implement.

Keyboard backlight?

Hey all,
When I slide out the keyboard of my device the backlight didn't work. When there is enough light this is not a problem, but in the dark the backlight is still off. How can I get the auto-sensor working again like it did in the stock ROM?
I've turned off the auto-sensor now so the backlight does work, but I think it's a waste of battery when it's always on.

[Q] Turning off Softkey Backlights

I recently flashed to Liquid Villain and my softkeys backlights got brighter than any other roms I used, I wanted to know if there's a way to turn off the softkey backlights? Such as an app, or command in the build.prop? I tried the app 'Screen Filter' it does turn off the softkey backlights, but it also dims the screen, which I don't want it to do so.
Thanks in advance.

CM7 - Automatic Backlight help

Can anyone explain the Automatic backlight options in the latest CM7 updates in an easy to follow way?
I have looked at the options and find the descriptions and setting very confusing and at the moment I find that the touch button lights are not actually working as they were before the new options were introduced.
I want the lights back as its a bit of a pain guessing where the buttons are at night
Thanks

Buttons - I used the same numbers for buttons as for the screen
24/48/128/226/246
Works well

[Q] CM 10.1.3 Always on Capacitive button lights?

Is there anyway to have the capacitive back and menu buttons always be lit up? Touchwiz would allow you to do this but I recently upgraded to Cyanogenmod and this is bugging me like crazy. It only allows you to turn it off or have it turn on and off intermittently. I have seen plenty of threads on how to disable the backlight or the buttons completely but is there a way to just enable the backlight always on like in TW?
On 10.2.nightly: Settings / Buttons / Backlight ... Slider all the way to right is "Don't turn off"".
Betcha your battery goes south fast.

[Q] omnirom button backlights are always on or off

I installed omni rom on my note 8.0 n5110 and everything works perfectly except that the up and back buttons are always on, or always off. By default they are always on (whether being used or not) and to turn them off you need to go to Settings -> Advanced settings -> Screen to turn them off by disabling them (unless, of course, you enable them again, in which case they are always on).
How is it possible to make these button's lights behave as intended; namely they are off unless you touch them, in which case they turn on and when you release them with your finger they turn off?
Thanks!
Same problem here, thanks for the tip how to turn them off permanently.
