Has anyone flashed or done the OTA updates for Android N? And if so, are there any advantages,or bugs, over custom Marshmallow ROMs?

No. No one has flashed Android N on their Nexus 5X... Except for the people that have commented in this thread. Just sayin'.

I'm just wondering if the galaxy will get the new update in a couple months.. I know there using the 3.8 kernel and do not know if our phone will be compatible. I hope so cause I don't plan on a new phone until the next nexus device. However it may be that our phone will rest in peace with 4.x. Your thoughts?

There has been an armada of threads about this. Google updates the gNex for 2 years. Closed.

There is already KLP thread in this forum and in this 'general' section so I don't understand why to do new one thread..
Ofc. Nexus gets newer version ... It doesn't mean nexus can't get the update when some devices gets newer kernel....
And Iif for some reason nexus won't get android update then I'm sure there will be the new version as CM's build version or something like that...
Answer to the question is that Google promises 18 months of development for a nexus device, either way I'm sure developers will make it happen.

I found a port from MIUI for FLO to DEB on a russian board. It's working great, but only with WIFI support. Is it possible to add LTE/3G drivers to that? I know there is a port to Nexus 5 which has working LTE...
androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407579194
So four months later and nothing news about our device?
I start to feel sorry that i bought it. I should check first how is the development about it
Is any chance for MIUI for Nexus 7 LTE?
Gah....I want this to work....WITH LTE.....if I knew how I'd figure it out myself....
I've never used Miui before but am interested in helping you guys out with a port. Would this be an acceptable base? http://en.miui.com/download-213.html
Yep, this is a latest WiFi version ROM for now.
Also I found ported 4.7 ROM from WiFi to LTE without cellular functions. On 4pda.Ru forum. If it can help you I will share a link.

Ok I have a github set up here for this project: https://github.com/skiman6010/Miui-v5-Deb
I have no wifi though which is weird. Have to dig into that. Ready to start adding radio files in. Also I need to find a way to configure the radio since the settings app doesn't have the option for that.
EDIT: Derped on the wifi. All fixed now lol.
Would be be nice to have a fully working rom
i just like aosp or. Cm

It's probably gonna be a while, Porting miui is no easy task.. And the N5 and this device aren't similar enough to really make the port work any easier..

Just wondering because I came from the G2, d800, and didn't see any MIUI love on that phone, haven't had MIUI since my s3, didn't know if anyone was attempting to port it

The reason that the G2 didn't get MIUI because it only had CM11. There was a CM10.1 ROM but was too buggy to use as base. I'm not going to promise anything yet, but as soon as I get caught with my personal life, I'm going to start on MIUI on the M8. I'm waiting for Patchrom to update because I would love to use the GPE ROM as a base and have Sense feature with MIUI.
My two cents but I wouldn't use MIUI, they ripped off xposed and refuse to give credit.
Plus they are falling behind in android updates, what once used to be a great Rom is turning into crap

That's funny because they have credited Rovo89 here. And it's not MIUI that created the program but BurgerZ. And the new base which the Nexus 7, Nexus 5 (beta) and RedMi3 are running 4.4.2. Your opinion is an opinion but not when you are posting false accusations.

I agree that the gpe base would be ideal, thanks in advance.

Didn't really want an opinion battle about MIUI, just info related to who may or may not be working on it, thanks.

As soon as I am done moving, I'm going to build my android kitchen again since I lost everything when my job took my laptop. That was one of the reason that I stopped MIUI with the D2VZW. But I now have two beast machine and my ISP just upgraded me to 100Mbps line for free, I should have no problem building anything. But I need to get settled back into Android after everything that has gone on with my personal life. If porting with KK is close to same as JB was, I can hopefully come up with something quick with CM11 as a base...as long as MIUI is working with SELinux enforcing. :highfive:
Sweet, I'm sure many will appreciate it

This is my first post ever, so sorry if I get something wrong or miss something.
So I have a Nexus 7 (flo) and was running android 5.1 and I had to reset my tablet daily because it would become so slow and unresponsive.
Anyways, I took the leap and rooted my device and got CyanogenMod and was wondering what else I could do. anything would be appreciated. Thanks.

I know pure nexus has this built in but are there other custom roms that provide this? I didn't want to read through every rom thread nor bug each thread with the same question. Thanks!
