(Solved)
Woke up this morning to find I cannot turn off Priority mode D:
The icon stays stagnate while I tap it and all the notifications are following the rules. Tried rebooting or pinging it out with an alarm, but nothing is working for me right now.
Any ideas on a fix or workaround?
Thanks XDA users!

And with some more playing around, I figured it out. Volume down to vibrate and once more to silent mode and bringing it back up, pings it out ! Nice. Maybe this will help someone out there!

Hi,
Anyone quickly shut off their alarm to find it won't turn off? I've done it a few times now. If the alarm goes off and you quickly swipe down, the alarm continues to sound and the only way I've found to turn it off is to switch off the phone fully.
Yup had that too...
Very Annoying, having to apologize to the people around you for the constant alarm sounding during the reboot......
If anybody knows a fix ?
i had this problem too today, my suggested fix is to go into settings and enable the volume keys to also switch off the alarm, cant vouch for it as definitive as it happened to me for the first time today but its worth a try
Ok so I know my way around a phone or too so I think this should be obvious but please if you can help me out here. I recently purchased the HTC Surround which I am beyond happy about, fantastic phone. However this seems to be an OS question more than phone.
I haven't found a simple way to have the Silent mode on without going to settings and disabling the Vibrate function. With Vibrate turned on if you hold down the volume key until 0 it switches to vibrate and there is no way of getting to full Silent mode. Can anyone help me with this if I am just missing something obvious here.
Thank you in advance
i don't think there is a silent mode as of yet. also, when you hit volume, you don't have to bring it all the way to 0, you can merely tap the icon on the right and it will flick between ring and viberate. though the problem with doing this i've found is that when you go into a game, the game still utilises the sound which i found a bit strange.

It's a bit annoying, but you'll have to go into ringtones and sounds in the settings and turn vibrate OFF. Then, when you go down to 0 it will be silent. You'll have to change vibrate back to ON when you want it back.
is there a way to set text messages and emails to vibrate? i haven't seen this in the emulator.

if you set the phone's profile to viberate, it quiets all the OS' built in notifications and typing and that. it does not however quiet apps/games sounds. only way to do that is drop the volume itself.
what i mean is on the normal volume profile can i sent a ring tone for calls, and vibrate for texts and emails?
not at present. it's still very simple on/off stuff for most, hopefully MS really goes through each section of the OS and brings it to the level of what is expected in high end phones.
Not an answer to the ops question, but if you press the down volume button, you can then click the "ring" icon and it will cycle between ring and vibrate (I would have expected silent there too)
Gordon.
Hi,
I have turned off the vibration and haptic feedback at all setting screens. Yet I get vibration when I get incoming call. Can anyone please help me how to turn this off.

Settings - Sound - Vibrate (When calls & notification ) - Disable that and it should be fine. Or doesn't that help ?
I have already done the settings in sound, still it does not help.

Tried putting it on "No-Sound" mode ? (Add Sound Widget, there are 3 modes : Sound, Vibrate, No Sound)
That last one should disable everything if I'm correct ?
Uncheck pocket mode
Settings > sound> pocket mode (Uncheck it)

I have the same problem here. I don't think turning the pocket mode off is the right fix. It vibrates even I leave it on the table.
Yeah same for me the damn vibration woke me up as its really loud. I have pocket mode enabled though, isnt it only supposed to put the volume up? Besides my phone was laying on a table with the sensor unblocked

Vibrate Issues - Could be a Common Problem with Android
I think this is a common problem with Android phones as this happens not only on my EVO 3D but also on a brand new Sony Xperia P. Even restarting the phone after changing/toggling between vibrate on and off between restarts does not help. Despite checking all settings and turning off, when any notification or an incoming call or anything happens, the phone vibrates!
I have checked all applications' settings too because some settings are there for vibrate for notifications. IMO chat app, etc and even in messaging I have vibrate turned off under settings for notifications and STILL the phone vibrates! This IS an ISSUE and I don't see why Android developers:highfive: or even Mobile Company QA personnel:cyclops: have not bothered to check this BASIC issue and Resolve it over so long! Could be the cause of why Android Battery life sucks so much or an inherited bug! Tried this even on a HTC Explorer.
From what I've read around there is NO way to disable all vibrations in non-rooted android phones! Kinda stupid if you ask me. For a rooted phone you have to download an app like either Spare Parts and disable vibration via that. Why they don't have the option to globally disable all vibration as default settings on Android beats me?! You can turn off vibration under settings for notifications and anything but you WILL still get vibrate despite turning all vibrate settings OFF! They HAVE to rectify this nonsense! Basic functionality and they can't even get that right!
Has anyone experience your Galaxy Nexus automatically changing from Vibrate mode to Silent mode after 1 vibrate and stays in silent mode?
I'm running Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and this is really annoying because if I don't notice the 1 vibration, I'll miss every subsequent notification until I check my phone. Even if I turn the phone on and change it back to vibrate, it will do the same thing again, 1 vibrate from a notification and it will switch to silent mode again.
I have Profile Schedule+ as my profile management app.
If there's any other info I can provide that could help, please let me know! I've tried searching google and XDA but couldn't find any solutions :crying:
Thanks XDA!!

Google changed the vibrate for notifications feature in JB. All profile apps that have options like "disable vibrate for notifications" won't work (I tossed AudioManager out the window). I'd try if vibration behaves well without a profile app.
I have an incredibly annoying problem I can't resolve. I'm running Launcherpro and I also use Gosms, stock otherwise but obviously rooted. So anyway, my notification ringer keeps going silent with sound on, but worse is it gets stuck and I can't increase it no matter how I try without resetting. I literally can't do anything to it, the volume slider grays out. I've tried going through settings, using audio manager, and all have the ability to change the notification volume disabled. . Once I reset it it goes back to normal, but eventually and randomly goes back to silent and gets stuck. I have no clue what to do but it's obviously infuriating. I'd appreciate any help and I'm sorry my initial thread was in the wrong place. If any other info is needed please let me know. This is just an awful problem, really frustrating.
Is your notification volume linked to one of the others? Grab audio manager or similar from the play store. .. It shows linked volume controls and gives the option to un link

Figured it out... I had a Profile called "Night" selected under Profiles in the system settings. I toggled profiles off, and voila, I've got sounds again! Hope this helps!
