i am facing the weirdest wifi issue with my op3. last night i bought a budget reliance jio lte phone with unlimited data to use as a wifi hotspot device. but when I connect my op3 to it, the connection disconnects and reconnects after every 30 seconds or so. All the other devices connected to the hotspot ( An Le 1s, YU Yuphoria and a windows tablet are working fine without any interruptions.
Now to check whether my device is faulty, I created a hotspot with my Le 1s and connected the op3. it works perfectly fine.
Now i am at a total loss on what to do. i tried almost all roms , but the problem persists:crying:
any help would be appreciated.
Solved
anyway since no one responded, i spent a night trying to be logical and finding where the issue might be. the thing is, lower end Jio handsets have IPv4/IPv6 as protocol selected by default. Most android devices connect flawlessly to hotspots created by these. However for OP3, Iphones etc, we need to select IPv4 only mode. It will work flawlessly then.
Though this post might be useless for most users here, Jio users in India, please take note in case you are facing the issue.
Thanks for that. I was going in for a second connection of JIO budget phone for home. This would help if my devices face an issue. I already have a connection from JIO which I am using in the 2nd sim of my OP3
How to select lpv4 mode in op3.please elaborate. Thanks

Hey!
I've had my Oneplus 3 for a couple of weeks now, and I am having major connection issues while using mobile data. Most of the time I am unable to get any connection so I can't even make a phone call. I have read about similar issues and how they have been resolved, but none of the tricks have done it for me. If I enable airplane mode and then disable it, I get a weak connection for a while (maybe 10 minutes). I have two IMEI-codes on my phone, like I should. WiFi connection works well. I am on OOS 3.2.4 at the moment.
Here's a list of all the things that I have tried:
Another SIM-card
Another service provider
Manual APN settings
Different OS versions
Turning radio off and on from the "secret menu" (*#*#4636#*#*). This has the same effect as the airplane mode, which means that I get a weak connection for a moment.
Every bit of help is greatly appreciated.
I had the same problem with 6 ROM (all based on CM). After a day or so i lost connection.
Now i'm on Official CM13 and its all working for 4 days (fingers crossed).
The only thing that i've done different is that i didn't use Titanium Backup and also CMThemer.
I don't know how helpful this is, but that's my experience with the matter.
Cheers !
I am having same issue from the day 1 of my usage. Upgraded OxygenOS, tried different SIMs, changed APN, toggled preferred connection LTE to 3G etc and even on Official Cm13, the issue persists. Even when I am outdoors, the connection is poor and unstable. The same SIM works very well on Oneplus 1 without any issues. I am really fed up and regretting my choice to buy Oneplus 3. Is there any way to solve this issue? I stay in Dubai and there are no Oneplus service centers here and neither I can return the device, as the return period has expired.
Hello!
I have the strangest problem with my Huawei Mate SE and I'd be shocked if you've ever seen something like it. Up until 24 hours ago everything was working mostly perfectly. But now I'm having network issues, and these aren't ordinary networking issues.
I cannot connect to the internet with WiFi or my mobile network. BUT, there is one network that allows me to reach the internet, my home wifi network. I can connect to different networks, I can connect to 4g and 4g LTE, but I keep getting timeout errors going through those.
I've already factory reset my phone and I'm about to return this phone if it can't be fixed. Does anybody have any ideas? Thank you!
Running CrDroid 5.5 for the Lenovo P2.
I am now in Bosnia where I bought an m:tel simcard. My cousin has one as well, and he gets a signal on his Galaxy S9. His internet works without any problems. Meanwhile my ****ty Lenovo P2 says 'no signal'. Funny thing is, when I enable a hotspot for my laptop, my laptop gets a signal. I am not writing this comment on the laptop.
Is the P2's antenna just very ****? I've had a similar problem in Montenegro last year on a different ROM, and it was due to wrong APN settings being used automatically. 2 are automatically added, and I've tried them both. Both don't work on the phone, but the laptop on the hotspot gets internet with both. m:tel's provided APN settings on their website look different than the automatic ones I receive, but they don't work either. They might be outdated anyway.
The **** is this **** anyway? I should have internet without any bull****.
Guys i'm having a problem with Hotspot where i can't have anything connected to it for a prolonged time... I tried both 5 and 2.4Ghz but my Moto X4 and my friend's S10+ can't stay connected to it for even a second... It only works after i restart the note 8 pro a couple of times... And even then it disconnects from time to time... Any of you having the same problem?
Edit: I also tried it on two Laptops.. Still the same issue. Sometimes it says the password in incorrect and try again. But i connect with the QR code so that can't be true...
Possible interruption from another WiFi or other signals around your area. Try testing in a isolated are or use other places. It might be the WiFi channels collided.

I checked on another phone... This seems to be the issue but i will update on this once i get home. I'm almost sure i had the same issue at home.
Yup. That seems to be the issue.. thanks for clearing that up. However, does that mean I'm never going to be able to use hotspot at work.. or is there someway i can play around with the settings and fix this?
My phone is redmi note pro 8 , I am unable to connect my hotspot to any other device. I tried restarting and switching off my phone, also switched off other hotpot and wifi networks and tried both 2.4 and 5Ghz but didn't work.
for my device's hotspot there is no problem for connectivity but there is a bug where I can't see who is connected to my hotspot and only shows the number of connected devices which means I can't block users from my hotspot..
my advice try to flash again with the mi flash tool in fastboot mode.
to do so it must have unlocked the bootloader
I have this same problem for my redmi note 8 pro how to fix it
Hi everyone,
I've just bought this phone and had no trouble installing LineageOS 20 (Nairo) on it. Everything works well, got all my apps installed and data moved over and now I've discovered that the WiFi Calling function doesn't appear to be working, which is a deal breaker for me. My office has terrible cell reception and I have been happily relying on WiFi calling on my Galaxy Note9 using the same SIM can carrier on Android 10 so I'm guessing it's either a phone issue and/or an OS issue.
To confirm:
1. WiFi is connected with signal strength reported by OS as "Excellent". This is the case for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
2. WiFi Calling is enabled
3. Calling Preference is "Calls over Wi-Fi"
Is there something I'm missing here? I actually had a call come in, the service was pretty crap and when it dropped out there was a pop-up that said something to the effect of "You should use Wifi Calling".
In case anyone looks at this later on for answers, I managed to resolve this with a reinstall of LineageOS. It did have a problem though in that after the reinstall, the phone could not create a data session with the mobile network (Vodafone Australia). I managed to fix that by moving the SIM card from SIM1 to SIM2. I then moved the SIM back to SIM1 and it's all working fine now. No idea what the problem was, but all running smoothly now.
