Hi all! I ran into an issue with the sounds of games suddenly stopping after a notification. I'll be playing a game like Fallout Shelter and an email notification comes and the game sound would stop. I have to kill the game app and restart to get the sound back. I got this behavior with at least two games. Anyone run into this issue?
[update]
I think it's an app issue with the latest Fallout Shelter release. On Bethesda's forums several people mentioned the same issue.

Hi guys,
Got a really frustrating issue - my music pauses itself randomly. Seems to happen mostly after 10 mins of listening or so but has happened at other random times too.
This morning on the tube to work it paused as usual and when I went to the Google Music app I noticed it still looked as though it was playing - as in, the pause button was showing rather than the play one. But tapping it did nothing. Also noticed that the little headphones icon in the notification window had disappeared. It then reappeared and the app played as usual again. Doesn't tend to happen after the first pause.
Any ideas?
People mentioning it for other phones but no solutions

Man I had this issue on my GS2. Haven't experienced it on the Nexus yet.
When you're in the tube, try a journey with airplane mode on and see if it happens?
Could also be a problem with the jack.
Try HeadsetBlocker from Market. Some phones don't like (only) Headphones and think its a Headset with microfone. And sometimes they think you pushed a button on Headset and get confused (play, pause, forward, .......).
Had the same problem with my DHD and after installing and activating HeadsetBlocker everything was fine.

Cool thanks guys going to try a test with it on airplane mode first then give headset blocker a try.
Seems quite a widespread problem as reported here

So going to remove the Listen app and give that a go too.
I tried using Winamp instead but as soon as I turn my screen off it runs like an absolute dog - stuttering all over the place. Nightmare.
Are you using standard headphones, a third party headset or the ones that came with it?
I was listening to music yesterday and today on the tube using my Ultimate Ears - which is a headset with one button and didn't have any problems at all.
Anybody else having issues with Spotify on the Galaxy Nexus? I keep getting force-closes & the occassional loss of offline cached playlists. I've contacted the support team & got a reply stating that the app 'isn't available' for ICS, despite the market telling me it is compatible with my handset. To be honest, i have similar problems with the app on my ipod, so i'm thinking it's just a shoddily programmed piece of cack, but wondered if anybody else is having similar issues?
Sometimes it crashes on me, just exits to the launcher or previous app without crash message or anything. And sometimes it stops playback of songs for no reason.
It doesn't bother me that much though, since i'm guessing they are working on getting it more compatible with ICS.
the sound is crackly in my car stereo....dunno is thats cuz of my setup though...
I keep getting an error message to say that my device storage is full and it can't sync any more music.. but I have 11GB free??
About to factory wipe my phone anyway so see what happens after
On a side note, I've recently got an iPod touch for the gym, the Spotify app is much better designed and uses the folders properly rather than just listing everything like the android version. Bout time they improved ours...
Hey there peeps,
I successfully upgraded to Android M yesterday and everything is working great (including the sensors), except for two things, which are the ones in the title on the thread.
After upgrading to Marshmallow I'm experiencing mini freezes and sound distortion in games.
The mini freezes don't last for long (less than half a second), but they can still be annoying, especially since it stops the sound too.
The sound distortion problem only occurs on game SFX (game music works fine) and it ends up making a repeated sound (as if the SFX would be overlapped and a bit robotic).
Also, the sound problem takes place only when I click on stuff, same with the mini freezes, they only occur when the game is loading something after I clicked on a button/opened a menu etc., if I let the phone sit idle in the game, it works just fine, so basically interracting with the game is causing both problems.
A few more things to mention: The problem happens frequently but completely random. Also music, videos and stuff like those are working fine. This only happens in games apparently.
Games i tested this in: Girls X Battle, Bloodline: The Last Royal Vampire and Panzer Waltz
I did a factory reset and same thing happens. What could be the problem?
So my pixel 2 xl will randomly stop playing things such as YouTube videos, Facebook videos and even music on apps such as Pandora and Spotify. It's like I'm pausing the videos/music.. I can click the play button again and it will start playing fine for a minute or so before it does the pause thingy again..
Does anyone have any idea on what could be causing this?
Same issue
I have the same issue, it just started a few days ago. I called Google support but they were unable to figure it out.
I have the same problem after the Feb Update. Did a clean install so Idk.
From time to time, pretty common actually, the sound that's playing through the phone will start to distort. This especially happens when listening to music and using another app but I've also noticed it with the
swiftkey keyboard sounds. Is there any way to fix this?
I have the same issue and I don't know of a fix, but I do know that staying on the app playing audio tends to keep it from distorting, so just try to keep the screen on and don't multitask a lot I guess until this bug gets fixed.
