Hi! I have a Sprint LS992 LG G5. I have a 200 GB SD Card. I can't save any files to my phone via the SD Card nor write anything to the SD Card. If I try to download something to the SD Card or have an app write to the SD Card, it will error out. I can, however, transfer files from computer to the SD Card. Is there a possible other pathway in the file explorer to access the SD Card? Currently, using Solid Explorer, my SD Card sits on /storage/BBF5-E792. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

You can save stuff to the sd card. You have to download whatever your downloading and use your stock file manager and move it to your external card. Other file managers will not work.

I downloaded things to internal memory and then was able to move it using Solid Explorer. It is such mickey mouse bull**** that you can't just download directly to the SD card. I only have 32 GB of internal memory space (which isn't enough) and having to move things from internal storage to an sd card is cumbersome and tedious. If you (or I for that matter), figure out a way to directly download to the sd card (which may mean using solid explorer to find another file name path to the sd card) I'll let you know!

Hi,
I both a new A100, I put the Sd card and downloaded some epub files (saved in the SD card, acording an incomming message. But I can't access the SD card, where to find it to open the downloaded files. I need another app, or it's other way.
Can somebody help me?
SD Card is mounted in \mnt\external SD. You may need to navigate up,you might be starting in \mnt\sdcard
I'm having the same problem here
Is there any way i can put everything I downloaded directly on the sd card instead of internal. Like files I downloaded they went to my internal instead of my sd
please reply thank you

yesterday i flashed ics on my a100
i followed the instructions here and it worked
then I did a factory data reset and rooted my a100.
but now the problem:
when I connect my tablet to the pc, I see the internal storage and the sd card. on my a100 I see the internal storage and the sd card, too. but the sd card shows not the correct data. for example I have two videos on the sd card, but can't see them. the same with apk's. when I put them on the internal storage, I can see them with a file explorer(I tried different...ever the same). but the sd card is recognized, when I unmount and mount it.
can someone help me?
EDIT: I formatted my sd card. in the settings it shows that the sd card ist empty. but when I start a file explorer, it shows folders on the sd card. it seems like the file explorer apps didn't update the sd card file system??
Its worth noting that file explorer apps from the market default to /mnt/sdcard which is in fact your internal storage, if using astro you can navigate to /mnt/external_sdcard which is in fact your SD card

thank you!
before I flashed ICS I had no problem. ...learning from mistakes
So I've always placed my zipped ROMs on my External SD card. Now I'm getting ready to flash an ICS ROM and read the instructions for the first time in a long while and I see that I should put the zipped ROM file on the "SD card".
I guess I always think of an SD card as being an external item. Is the root directory an sd card also? Not the same as the external SD card?
I see in ES File explorer Root is listed as "/sdcard " and clearly not the same as "/sdcard/external_sd"
So where should my flash-able zip files be before flashing?
Thanks
Place on external sd
Hi,
Just changed my phone because the other one was dead. I have a 16 gig external sd card and if I remember correctly on my other phone I had a folder externalsd or something in the root. Now the only place I see my external sd card is under /mnt. If I use recovery it does not see the external sd card. Am I missing a link or something?
Thanks,

Try updating your cwm from clockworkmod. com. The newest version should recognize your external sd card. Also, it's normal to show up under mnt.

Just done an OTA update to Android 5 on my UK sim free Lg G3 but I am still unable to move files from internal SD to external SD.
Have a lot of downloads that are taking up space and tried to use ES file manager to move a video to my 64GB micro SD card and it failed.
I thought Lollipop returned the use of the external SD card?
Don't want to root the G3 because the banking apps will stop working.
What should I do?
Hi, did you try tu use stock file manager?
The stock file manager does not have a copy/move option.
Has write to SD actually been returned in Lollipop or is rooting the only option?
It has. Hold your finger on file and it will popup menu. Im using it all time. It's not FM if it doesn't have move copy or delete.
Tried that but again, no copy/move options (lots if others though, inc. delete, share ect).
Strange problem this.
Just an update.
I unmounted the external sd card and erased.
Now the built in file manager has all the options Inc. copy and move.
I can now write to the card.
Lolliepop has reintroduced Write To SD Card
The file manager app Xplore can now write to the sd card. You have to try it first and then it will send you through a small set up to allow writing to the sd card. So Google fixed it. Its just now the apps have to be reconfigured to be able to write to the sd card.

Glad to got that fixed mate! To make deleting videos and pics easier.. you can try Quickpic from Play Store. You can select multiple pics/videos easy and fast..move them to a desired folder or delete them
