Hi, I am living in India and using Samsung Note 3 Verizon SM-N900V, Android 5.0. Earlier carrier was Reliance CDMA and now carrier is Reliance GSM. I am unable to use Reliance LTE bands 3, 5 & 40 as Note 3 is not enabled for Indian LTE bands. Please suggest how can I unlock it for LTE bands 3, 5 & 40

The ATT Samsung Galaxy S3(I747) has the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 plus MSM 8960 processor. The Qualcomm MSM 8960 is capable of supporting LTE band 17, Band 4(AWS), Band 2 and Band 5. ATT has now launched Band 2 in NYC and Band 5 in the Midwest.
The S3 only supports LTE Band 17 and LTE Band 4(AWS).
Q1. Is there firmware that will make this device support LTE band2 and LTE band 5?
Q2. Is there a SW to make VOLTE calls using the S3?
I am looking to unlock LTE band 2 and LTE band 5 on my ATT GS3.
Thanks in advance,
I have been able to have an iPhone 6 from Verizon work on my AT&T sim and have LTE. Has anyone been able to have a Verizon Note 4 work on AT&T and have LTE work?

Yes it will. All verizon LTE devices must be unlocked and if they state they are GSM Global ready, it means that they will generally work on other GSM carriers in the US. In this case, the Note 4 is GSM Global ready and will work on AT&T and T-mobile.
Yes, the Note 4 as well as all VZW 4G LTE phones from the past couple of years will work on ATT and TMO but will not necessary receive LTE depending on the area and LTE coverage you are in.
my 2 cents.
Thank you for the responses.
Would anyone be able to tell me what LTE Bands the Verizon version supports?

The Verizon version works on LTE band 4 for T-Mobile and AT&T. Depends on the area you are in if AT&T or T-Mobile uses this band.
Here's the Bands data from the different versions of note 4:
Verizon
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/1900
WCDMA/HSPA: 850/1900
CDMA/EvDO: 850/1900
LTE Bands: 13,4
AT&T

LTE Bands: 12,5,4,2
T-Mobile
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/1900
WCDMA/HSPA: 850/1700/1900
LTE Bands: 12,17,5,4,2
Sprint
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/1900

Hi Guys
I'm from Macedonia,Europe and I have a chance to buy tomorrow cheaper NOTE4 from T-MOBILE or VERIZON.,or AT&T.Since VERIZON uses CDMA frequencies, can you help me by clearing things up:
Is AT&T NOTE 4 compatible with my carriers frequencies here in Europe? I think that it is GSM and that the voice calls will not be problem, but is 4G/LTE compatible here?
My carrier is ONE and they told me that their 4G/ LTE uses 1800MHZ (band 3 I think) and 800MHZ(bend 20).
These are the frequencies of AT&T NOTE4 from their website:
4G-LTE
Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, 20, and 29
4G
HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul
3G - UMTS
850/1900/2100MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE
850/900/1800/1900MHz
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Which one is best to use in Europe for 4G/LTE?
Please help as soon as possible.I have to tell my friend to buy it from USA tomorrow at latest !!!
Yes. My ATT Note4 works fine with 4G. You have to spend $15 to buy the unlock code for faster unlock (6h-2days) instead of waiting 5-10days from the carrier. My ATT Note4 works fine in Germany, Italy and Austria. Not sure Macedonia but I think it works fine.

On which frequencies does your carrier work? Or maybe it works on every carrier ,because as I see, AT&T have the biggest range of 4G/LTE frequencies for their NOTE 4 :
4G-LTE
Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 17, 20, and 29
4G
HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul
3G - UMTS
850/1900/2100MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE
850/900/1800/1900MHz
Mobile operators here in Macedonia operate only on 1800MHZ for 4G/LTE I think !!
There is a conflict on the LTE bands supported on the AT&T and HTC USA sites.
So is Band 3 (1800) supported?
Does anyone know how to use jio SIM on tab 3 7 or how to active engineering mode
Reliance Jio is a CDMA/LTE operator. They do not have GSM or UMTS towers. Only CDMA and LTE devices can work on their network.
You will need either a CDMA capable Galaxy Tab 3 variant (SM-T217S, specifically designed for Sprint in United States and will generally be SIM locked), or an LTE-capable variant supporting India's LTE bands.
Jio does not offer GSM or UMTS services. If your Galaxy Tab 3 variant is a 3G/GSM variant, it can never work with Jio.
As an addendum, you won't be able to use SMS with Jio if you use a compatible LTE device that isn't also CDMA. GSM-based LTE devices can only send SMS over LTE when connected to LTE operators that upgraded from GSM and UMTS, or if both the network and device support VoLTE.
