Because it looks better
Sony Ericsson has a video on their Youtube page where they demonstrate the Neo in the Livedock. Fits perfectly, works perfectly.
They demonstrate a wireless mouse and keyboard plugged in to the livedock, livedock into the Neo and the Neo over HDMI into a TV/Monitor. Then you basically have a portable PC! Livedock is really nice ^^
ok thanks
When I first got this phone (GALAXY NOTE 2 GT-N7100), I really enjoyed the MHL abilities, and this was when I had know clue what ADB or Kernel meant. At the moment, I have CM10.1 (nightly) and wanted to play some games via the TV. I realized that CM10 does not support HDMI out, so to the point.
What are the best ROM's that support MHL?

A user of galaxy star here. Im sorry to actullay post here but I wanted to say that if u have a tv launcher and a site lists that u have its tv-out its not true. Galaxy star had something like that in build.prop and in system/app but when I went to my friends house and connected cable of hdmi tv out it didnt work. It maybe due to different cable(my friend had a galaxy note and a note cable) but no way that magic would happen. But try it out.

I'll try to get a cable for galaxy star if it supports
well, it does support USB On The Go. Theres a video on youtube of it, I tried it and it really worked with a thumbdrive. I tried with a generic joystick but I think it needs the module to work.
thats a good news
No MHL Support
I dont think that the Xperia M supports MHL, because Sony Support forums and other sites say that it doesn't support MHL.

MicroUSB connected devices.
I don't have any MHL cables to test the XPERIA M with but have tested the following microUSB connections and found them to all work.
The one exclusion here is the Sony DK10 LiveDock™ multimedia station which only provides power. It can NOT provide data and power over one USB connection with default XPERIA M configuration.
This does not bode well for any MHL connection.
• Aten 4-Port USB 2.0 Switch
• Targus Desktop USB 2.0 7-Port Hub
• WDC 320GB USB 2.0 HDD connected via powered USB hub.
• Logitech USB Unifying Mouse M950, M905, M235 and Keyboard K400, K800 tested
• HP v165w 8GB flashdrive - Voltage required ~4.5-5.5VDC. This will not work on a Sony XPERIA S due to power requirements, BUT works OK on an XPERI M.
• SD/MMC card reader and USB 2.0 ports on a Dell U2410 24" IPS monitor
• Tested a few SanDisk and HP 8-32GB USB 2.0 FAT32 flashdrives and all have worked.
• Galaxy Note Connection Kit. Model: DR03-S2 provides microSD, SD and USB flashdrive access. A must have!!! But, only supports one(1) connected peripheral at a time, so can't have Keyboard/Mouse and microSD card all connected at the same time...pity. But this can be done via powered USB 2.0 hub.
There is also the Sony Miracast™ Wireless Display IM10 which probably should be tested when it's more widely available.

guys I just tested it with mhl(c1905 not dual) did not work. Maybe there is something else to do or another app I don know. The weird bit is that on the sony official page, they say that it supports mhl. So they need to make software update or there is only sony mhl device that works with this mode.
Anything more info if you have please share
"The weird bit is that on the sony official page, they say that it supports mhl."
Is it????
Where???
I had tried with MHL cable but no luck
Someone tried the official IM750 MHL cable? In the compatibility tab even the low-end Xperia E and the very similar Xperia L are supported, so, why not Xperia M too? I also read somewhere that Miracast is supported only with Sony BRAVIA TVs, so maybe Sony did something to make Xperias works only with official Sony MHL cable too?

I already saw somewhere in Sony forums Xperia Tablet Z users complaining about that in the past (don't know if this was fixed), in other smart TVs the Miracast connection worked but not together with WiFi connection (you need to choose only Miracast or only WiFi, not the two at the same time). Miracast + WiFi internet at the same time worked only in Sony BRAVIA TVs unless they installed CyanogenMod in their tablets, which enabled the feature in all brands of Smart TVs. I know that's not the case for Xperia M (as I already tested Miracast with a non-Sony Smart TV too) but since Sony did it in the past, there's a possibility, even if minimal, that Sony did something to MHL connection in Xperia M too (if it even support it)...
Have Miracast working fine(ish) on a C1905 15.4.A.0.23 using a Netgear PTV3000 attached to an old 40" Sony LCD TV.
Displaying a 720p video to a 40" Sony TV lags a bit.
Miracast works OK with Youtube(Internet) to a 40" TV using both WiFi connection for TV(Miracast) and Internet.
Tried a 'standard' MHL cable and nothing happen.
Never seen MHL listed as supported on an Xperia C1905.
Indonesia does not support 5GHz (Android 4.1.2 at least) so Miracast AND internet may not be possible.
Maybe need a 5GHz and 2.4GHz WiFi connection for Mircacast and Internet to work at same time (just thinking out loud).

EDIT: the phone doesn't support TV out, so bummer! If u have a smart TV then u can look for alternative ways to connect ur phone.
It has MHL. But 5 pin MHL cables for Sony devices won't work. Planning to order this weekend.

Although there is an mhl cable on ebay, according to some mobile tech sites it seems that phone doesn't support mhl! Also there is no explanation on Samsung's siteI Therefore I am not sure! Could someone clear whether it supports mhl or not?

Why not try chromecast.....no cables.

Hello,
Firstly I haven't tried it yet but I want to use a controller with my Note 5. Can I use the one that came bundled with the Shield? Does it use bluetooth?
If not, can someone reccomend me a good one to use with N5?
Thanks!
I will answer myself, there is no way to use it. Shame.
Doesn't the Shield use WiFi Direct to connect to the controller?

I can confirm the shield controller works very well when wired to an android device that supports otg.
The track pad is a bit sporadic though.
Volume controls and start button work which surprised me.
For what it's worth I tested it on a samsung galaxy note 12.2 with a USB 3.0 otg hub.
I had also already updated my shield TV to 3.0 (android 6.0) and run the peripheral update so I can't confirm if it worked on versions prior.
I know you were likely looking for wireless but it's something for sure.
