CM13 and sRGB - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hello,
I'm on OOS but would like to move to a CM based ROM, problem is I really like sRGB mode. The default is too crazy for my eyes and makes the screen look cheap. Is there a way to enable sRGB mode in CM based ROMs?
Cheers

They have livedisplay instead of sRGB / default stuff from OP. You can also tune yourself the color schemes.

As far as I know they are two completely different things: Live Display adjusts the tone of the screen, while sRGB sets the screen color space.
I'm no expert at all and still waiting for my unit, but I gather the results of these two features are be very different.

You may be right, but apparently CM will stay as is.

sRGB is good, slightly grey looking screen, but it's OK to look at. From the CM ROMs I've used the colours can still be a bit too vivid and wild.

Has anyone found a solution yet? I just flashed Sultan's CM13 which does not have sRGB build in. I can't stand the calibration without sRGB..

Just use any kernel that have KCAL control. And tweak your screen color, hue, sat, contrast, whatever to your liking
blu_sp*rk, boeffla, elemental, all has KCAL control.

how to tune the color balance on sRGB mod?

Yeah I m also looking for that it's not available in stock ROM may be a custom ROM could have this enabled

sRGB is the accurate representation of the colors, tuning it will defeat the purpose of using it. If you want the freedom to tune temperature of screen colors, you can always switch off the sRGB mode.
Tip: Use sRGB mode for a few days, you will get used to it.
You can use Light Manager (Pro) from the app store if it bothers you. The app is surprisingly effective at changing screen tint but I agree with what has been said; stick with sRGB for a while and you most likely won't want to go back to the stock 'neon' look.
U can install a custom kernel like bluesparks or elementalx which have kcal which will let u modify too ur liking, u need to be rooted and have trwp

I use kernel toolkit
I agree, sRGB mode is a bit too yellow...
Mine shows a very dark red. What to do? in general all colors seem much darker than they should be.
Light manger pro seems to be a program to change the led color?
i got the optimal settings
go to display & led -> livedisplay -> profile -> set this to photo
then to calibration -> set this to red 95%, green 93 % and blue 100 %
These are the best settings for me and i see no yellowish anymore

No program. you can set this up in CM13.

CM13 screen is too yellowish and reddish

I'm using oneplus 3 official CM13
The screen is too yellowish and reddish
I like Oxygen OS screen color and white balance.
How to fix it??
도와달라 이기!!
just wait, your eye will adapt progressively.
The original OP3 color balance was like a TV in sport mode.
You can flash ElementalX Kernel for kcal http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/kernel-elementalx-op3-0-01-t3404879. You'll need EXKM from Play Store tho.
Take a screenshot of your LiveDisplay settings and post it here.

Well, that's weird. Default colors should be just like colors on OOS.
You may wanna to play a bit with LiveDisplay settings and make it look good for you, plenty customization options out there.
Livedisplay is set to automatically change the colortemperature depending on daytime/sunset. You might want to find that setting and turn it off. Or wait for the next day ;P

LiveDisplay or Color Calibration

Cyanogenmod has a feature called LiveDisplay which automatically adjusts LCD color temperature according to time of day. Has anyone gotten this to work on the builds provided by Transi1? I'm in love with this old tablet after installing crdroid and am interested in figuring out how to get live display or color calibration working. I get some flickering and temporary display corruption when i try to adjust color calibration in the same display menu as LiveDisplay.
It Iooks like support may have been added in a pacman ROM a few years back, I wonder if that change was ever incorporated into Transi1's builds

In my experience, do not use this feature on the Kindle 8.9. If I would make a guess, I'd say the tablet doesn't support this feature and on any of the 4 or 5 ROMs I have tried, will either severely pixilate the screen, or throw the tablet into reboot. I was having a lot of trouble figuring out what was causing the issues until I turned the options off. I only figured it out because after the event happened, usually on first boot of the newly installed ROM, a notice would appear in status bar asking if I want to configure LiveDisplay. This option could very well damage the device if enabled.

I have done some experimenting with this feature. The 8.9 doesn't have the ability to adapt the display. So turn that off. Set the live display mode to 'night only'. Surprisingly this works pretty well.

Interesting, I wish it worked for me, all I get is some flickering garbage on screen when i set to 'night only'. Are you also using transi1's latest crdroid build from December? Maybe there's another setting I have that is interfering

Manually change color saturation, contrast, RGB, etc.,

5T comes with a few color profiles and last one where you can slide from cool to warn modes.
But the profiles I like the most, have too much saturation on colors.
Are there any option/non-root app to manually fine tune color/contrast/saturation?
If not, there are any root app to do this?
Regards!
Very good question I have the same trouble with profile colours that we can manage in Oxygen OS.

Any kernel that has kcal as a feature can fine tune colour using kernel aduitor

Setting custom color calibration with Root

I know there's an app, Oreo Coloriser, to force DCI-P3 color space. Can I do it natively assuming I have a rooted device with a custom kernel? Also, what settings for calibration is usually used? Thanks!

You'll probably get a dozen or so answers/opinions on this one! Personally, I use either Flash or Snoke kernel which facilitate the use of KCAL control using either the EXKM or Kernel Auditor apps, and then either use color profiles, or self experimental settings to adjust the colors to ones liking. It also appears that most users start from the saturated mode before adjusting the colors further :good:

Many have used the KCAL profiles from the nexus 6p without issues, me included. Here's some further insight as to what settings, and reasoning others have/are using :good:
