I'm pleased to present my repack of the stock ROM for the HTC Vision! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
Remember that if you use this ROM, you do so entirely at your own risk!!
About MoDaCo stock ROM repacks
Unlike a MCR (MoDaCo Custom ROM) release, a stock ROM repack is as close to the stock ROM as possible. Only root / Superuser and an insecure boot image is added. The benefits of the repack are providing a rollback option in update zip format as well as providing an online kitchen to remove parts that are not required.
A MCR release of this ROM is also available!
Requirements
In order to use this ROM on your device, you must have a custom recovery image installed (Clockwork Mod).
THIS ROM SHOULD RUN ON BOTH THE G2 AND THE DESIRE Z!
Features
Repack of the 1.22.531.8 (OTA) ROM
Pre-rooted with su and Superuser Permissions by ChainsDD
Insecure boot image (ro.secure=0)
Changelog
Please see the post below this one for the changes in each release.
Installation
To install this ROM:
Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your SD card
Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM (unless you are coming from a 'Sense' ROM), however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is now available in the online kitchen - see the post below for details! In addition to the kitchen, a prebaked download is available.

Thanks
It's impossible to mention everyone who contributes to the Android community by name, but to everyone out there who does great work and shares it with us all - you have my gratitude and respect.
And finally...
Details on how to donate should you wish to do so are in download topic at MoDaCo.
Enjoy!

Initial Release
Let me know how you get on people!
MCR'd version and Sense stock / MCR for both G2/Z to follow (soon)!

just flashed this. pretty fast,
thanks paul!
COOKIN' ROMS LIKE A BOSS
Thanks, Paul. Looking forward to your SenseUI build for American Visions
Works perfectly. Very snappy. Using it with the ROM kitchen is a nice way to customize exactly the ROM you want. I used that to keep my old email.apk that doesn't ask for a alphanumeric password every time I want to use the phone.

Is busybox preinstalled also? I'm sure it is...but just making sure
Actually, I don't see it in xbin, weird....

Correct.
P
Pual, I for the life of me can't seem to get this overclocked. I should be able to overclock this using the steps in the link below correct? Oh, and by the way I love the rom. I used baconbit, which was great until i found out I couldn't use my extended battery on it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813681
I've done a total wipe and installed your rom and my app with titanium. Here's the link.
I've put the ota ko file in the root of the my sd. And ran the attached .sh files in gscript, but all i get is errors.
Edit: nevermind I see that the OP to the overclocking post no longer supports it. I guess ill have to go with the new kernal and hope it works with extended batteries. Thanks for reading.

This mod will install full Arabic support on Galaxy Tabs running Overcome 3.1.0 [Kratos] (may work on earlier editions but no guarantees- try at your own risk!)
This is a CWM flashable zip and it includes a script to wipe dalvik cache after installation so all you need to do is install in CWM and reboot
We now have proper Arabic support with reading and the stock Gingerbread Arabic keyboard is also included for input support
After installing, make sure the input method is set to Samsung Keypad (default) and press the Settings key to the left of the Go key. In the next screen, tab Input Language and select Arabic then press the back key twice. You will now have an Arabic keyboard
Note: This has been tested on Overcome 3.0.0 [Kratos] but may work on others.
Please report if you get it working on other ROMs and I will add a note

No actually the input support (keyboard) is not.
The files which enable reading and correct character shaping were made by alterbridge86 using madmack's script.

Ah...
Well yes. This patch does change the framework. If you want stock Gingerbread then the path I would recommend is to flash the stock theme patch, reboot at least once and then flash the arabic patch. You can get both patches from teamovercome.net in the Downloads section. I tried that combination yesterday and it works fine

I would like to do something similar with full japanese support. The fonts in the european rom look ugly, and the japanese keyboards in the market are not really good...

To be honest it's just a matter of finding of finding, extracting, deodexing and zipaligning the keyboard from a compatible stock ROM that has the language you need. Once you are sure the files work, you can package them in a flashable zip to make it easy to apply. This will also patch the framework and other system files and that's why I stress the need for compatibility.

I used smali and allowed each APK to reference all of the .odex files in the framework, added the classes.dex files to their respective APKs, and zipaligned. I don't know if it matters, but I did those steps through the command line, although I'm sure the process would be a lot faster with a script. If you would like the exact line-by-line process that I used, let me know.
So how is this Rom & all I have to do is download & flash it or is there another step to do?

The procedures are the same as for other ZIP-based ROMs: download, transfer to phone, and flash through recovery. You may or may not need to erase your data (depending on which ROM you're coming from), but backing up your data beforehand is advisable and never hurts.
I haven't received any feedback regarding this specific ROM yet (I don't know if that's a good or bad sign). The main difference is that it's deodexed and will decompile without errors. I'm sure there are other threads with more in-depth information on IMM26 changes/improvements/issues.
SuperUser
I was impressed with this rom for the first few minutes I used it. But then I found out that my SuperUser app wasn't working. I tried updating the binaries through the app itself but it couldn't gain root access. I downloaded the file again and flashed it again but SuperUser still didn't work. It was the same problem with not gaining root access. So I flash the SuperUser zip file from zedomax's tutorial on rooting the Nexus S 4G and I was able to gain root access. Just thought I'd tell you.
mvilla, how did you fix the superuser root access problem? i am having the same problem when i try to update binary, and im getting permission error when i try to flash recovery in rom manager, i think is because of superuser not working.
I went to nexusshacks.com and downloaded the nexussrootICS.zip file (I think that's what its called). There's a SuperUser.zip file within that zip file. I moved the file to my phone and flashed it in recovery (wipe cache and dalvik cache of course). And its working well.

Hey buddy, I'd LOVE to have the step-by-step, or line-by-line on the process you used to decompile. If you could PM me, or post it up here for everyone to use, that would be great!! I'm kinda new to the decompiling and compiling scene so any help would be great! Also, you said that most devs that use ICS probably use a kitchen to decompile and compile their .jar and .apk files, where is this kitchen? Or are you talking about Android SDK?

Did you ever get that step-by-step process for deodexing ICS from the OP? If so, can you send it to me?
I guess the Google Apps are included?
Will there be any further updates to this in the near future, or has this reached the end of the line so-to-speak? Just curious because I like having the natural AOSP of this.
Been using this since the 9th and I have to say it's very smooth. Very stock too, which obviously is what it's supposed to be. Just saying that for anyone who comes in looking for something customized. This is basically pure vanilla ICS.
Sorry for the delayed replies. I've been hammered by other obligations lately.

The stock Google apps are included. There are now two choices: One has the apps that were included in the IMM26 release (R3) and I have also included the latest app updates and related binary files as (R4).

I have replaced the Google apps that have been updated since the IMM26 release. There are rumblings that the official ICS ROM should be released sometime soon. I'm not holding my breath, but I'll offer the same thing to that release once it comes out.
If you're asking about adding functionality or features, I don't think I'd have anything unique to offer since there are so many other ROMs and customizable updates out already. I have considered including FaceLock functionality, but it adds quite a bit of size to the ROM and honestly, it hasn't worked very well for me. If there is enough interest, I'll include it as a separate revision in the future.

Just tried... If you simply extract the two apk from the zip you can install them with no issues at all... (I prefer it from flashing...)
The Contact apk is the same as you can find on Play Store, while the Telephone apk is a (lot) newer version than that available on Play Store... Thanx a lot! :highfive:
EDIT: wrong! No problem with contacts, it can be downloaded and installed from Play Store too... BUT Telephone refused to install on Z while installed fine on another MM I use... I'll investigate more on this issue...

Ok, it's possible to install single apks BUT it's needed to install jar & permissions file (& reboot before...) so, for newbies is probably better to simple flash the zip (that is ok, I've cheched...)
Main difference is that flashing after the apps can't simply be uninstalled but become part of the system since they are put in priv-apps... (ok, they can be freezer or removed by a root file manager anyway...)
I'm using it anyway... small differencies for contacts, a lot more (and interesting...!) for dialer...

There's a modded apk here, somewhere, but the problem becomes the caller id functions don't work as it needs to be signed by Google to use the correct APIs. So unless Google messes up like they did with 2.05_rc4 we'll never have an "simple apk" version.

Anyway, the dialer is a *major* upgrade, not only a "cosmetic" one... It is a newer version than the one released with Aosp Nougat 7.1 and beneath there are some newer versions too, it is the newer one working on MM too (the others need at least v. 7.0 to work...)

Nope, it doesn't work with stock android nougat on my moto z xt1650-03, retailmx. After the restart the phone wasn't able to open, not a single app was able to recover my phone app; so I applied my TWRP backup and tried again, same result. So I decided to make it work because I didn't want to delete everything again so, this is what I did:
Make sure to flash the zip, and if you can use your phone anymore, don't panic like me...
1. Erase the app via Titanium Backup pro
2. Restart the phone
3. Go to the file explorer, find the zip of the nougatdialer and extract the dialer apk
4. install it like a normal app and voila!
5. grant permissions if needed.
I think the normal apk should work on nougat.
If not here's the nougat zip:

No need to delete the com.motorola.*** .jar files from system/framework/
Download v6.0.54.1
Download v6.0.78.1
Enable Write to external sdcard:
ExtSD_Fix_rw-signed-v1.9b.zip
Thank you so much. Working fine on pure Nexus

Many thanks for this, working on resurrection remix 5.8.3 26/04 build without issue. how did you get around the FC problem, if I may ask?

My understanding is that when /system/framework/com.motorola.frameworks.core.addon.jar is present
com.motorola.camera.device.framework.CameraMotExt.<clinit> fails to find class "android.hardware.Camera$EnvDetectCallback"
So I emptied out the static method (<clinit>) and initialised a couple of variables outside.
I used DexPatcher to modify it.
Then the behaviour is the same as if /system/framework/com.motorola.frameworks.core.addon.jar wasn't there.
Clearly this is a workaround not a fix. It would be nice to know why it can't find the class and fix it so that "CameraMot" is supported (I guess this is some hardware optimisation)
Would you please share another link beside afh because i get some problem with download from afh
Thank you for this. After I deleted those files, an FC message saying "Motorola Settings" has stopped would greet me at every boot. This'll take care of that.
I don't believe it has anything to do with video recording though, does it?

I didn't see issues with video recording either with the patched Moto camera and deleting the .jar files, or using this Moto camera as is. The Motorola settings seems to pop up whenever, but dismissing it doesn't seem to cause issues with the camera app or the system itself - curious!

It can't be updated or it would loose the patch.
Quality wise I would say it's close to stock but probably a little below (can someone confirm this?)
For now I think this is the best we can get for non stock roms.
If someone wants to step up and try to get a proper fix that would be ideal.

Cool. Let's hope someone fix this further
i mean, perhaps setup a wrapper to divert the error message.... something like that.
btw, on stock there is a "Camera tuner for Moto G(4)", is it needed?
