Hello all,
I wanted to do this pool for general consumption. I noted lot of users asking about how long the LG G4 will live after the application of the ILAPO fix.
So, please all of you that revived your phone with the fix and actually are using 4 cores, let's vote :good:
The idea is to have an average to see how long it will take to pass away again.
NOTE: Please only vote people that had the issue and fixed the phone with this method and is using 4 cores.
Comments and recommendations are welcome too!
I recovered h818p 1 core using the method from that LG presentation (cant recall if it was on reddit or xda). Last night rooted my device and enabled 4 cores using the ILAPO 4core fix app. So far so good. Lets see how long it lasts.
Btw, i uninstalled the 4core fix app and went from 4 cores to 1 on reboot. So that means i have to keep it installed? Just confirming

Hey there... can you tell me how can i fix 4core? the apps goes to paypal page and in my country paypal isn't available.
How to enable all 4 cores. please help
Hi, I had a problem with my LG G4. I apply an software mentioned before to disable "BIG Cores". I didn't apply any 4core fix etc. It was not necessary becouse system is working on 4 "small" cores at the beginning after the fix. My lg g4 without warranty is working now very stable ( antutu >51000) but.... What to do with system updates? I can't apply it becouse I'll lose the core fix. Any thouhgts?

Yes you have to keep it, and also keep the root on your phone.

I recommend you to backup whatever you have and that's it. At the end the phone will die like mine

Here is everything you need:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NziX5Fyq58
See video description.
I came here to say that after applying the ILAPO fix in my phone LG G4 H815T died 2 months later. The unique way to turn it on is putting it on the freezer 10 min. Then after 1 minute dies again.... :/
Any recommendation or workaround that may help with this?
Thanks!
That means you lose your fix on the BIG Cores. Why are you installing this app? Try to come back to stock and apply pure version of this app.....without root'ing and custom software...next disable all system updates and should be ok.

May be your phone is out of ram. i can suggest you that:
- get root, disable Asus app, install Xpose and fix lollipop memory leak
or
- enable developer option and disable animation.

I m on android 5.1.1 and it doesn't have memory leak problems...and I tried other method too...it isn't working
Have you altered anything in the kernel?
Ive found I get some tiny flicker sometimes on CM12.1 01/09.

Yeh on Android 5.1.1 the screen flickers on certain apps. For me it's done it on only 1 app.
I'm not sure what all else have you don't to the phone but in my case, it's just CartonBox, it's not too bad.
HELLO ;
Is it possible to port the always on display from G5 to our device? Is some one did it or attend to do?

There is an app in play store called always on , you can try that.
Probably you gonna have a battery drain that will convince you to stop using it because the g3 haven't been built for it.
The whole backlight will be on all the time, the g5 can light up just a para of the LEDs, meaning just a minor battery consumption.
You can install an app called
,GLANCE PLUS, .apk
Then you have, always on,
On your g3.
That's all.

You have to find out where the wakelocks coming from. The view you have is some let me say general or grouped point of view.
Install better battery stats, OPG pro or Wakelock detector free to find the wakeup reason behind those.

They ask for to be installed as system apps once i want to remove them they brick phone.. ilike bbs or wld.
I have battery drains too, but with System or Logd when I'm out. Unfortunately, without root, you cannot get many usefull information (I have stock ROM, no root). Problems persists also after an Hard-Reset.
The only thing I can get with "adb logcat -d" , from PC, is a chatty system_server...

so i see on your screenshots about 7 hours standby. the battery symbol looks like you still have energy for several hours no?
From your screens all looks well except for the signal
98% deep sleep is very good
100% no or unknown signal --> do you have no SIM card active??

If your carrier do not support FD disabling it should help save battery.

thanks will do. :good:
what a shame
dunno if Nokia staff could make it before the New Year
I am still on october patch
well the Nokia team keep their words
we will have pie soon enough :good:
my phone (TA-1105) Global version updated to pie, if ur device is TA-1109 with android one dont hope to get update. maybe ur devices converted from chinese to global rom. solution is convert back to chinese rom
too bad then
perhaps some clever guys will make it available to flash manually? :fingers-crossed:
Guys my Nokia 5.1+ is already running pie..
And I have also been facing ridiculously garbage ram management. Like, the phone is not even able to keep chrome in the background. Not able to keep more than 1 app in the background even after turning off adaptive battery. Otherwise the update is stable.
If anyone else is facing the ram management issue then pls confirm
Update: X5 got Pie. It was released after the 5.1 plus. I still think Oreo was better. I cannot measure, but I feel I have more mistouch with Pie.

As discussed here I ran the uninstall for power saver. But my game gets closed after a while if I open Chrome and Maps. It seems like 3GB is not big. It does not close if I don't open anything else.

Dude there is a simple fix for this problem. Your games will remain in the memory, but the fix is a bit annoying.
What you need to do is to just power off, then power on your device in every 2 days. Then just see the difference. Rebooting won't work, do what I mentioned above.
Thank me later

Dude even I ran that adb command, nothing happened. I even ran the command which was meant for majority of Nokia Phones. no result. Only Nokia can fix this issue. Even in the April update, no improvement was made.

That's strange, it works for me, at least after that the apps that I exclude from battery optimisation no longer get killed.. Have I noticed that after April update, my wallpaper kept reverting back to default instead of being handled by my wallpaper changer, so I ran that ADB command first setting it back to 1 then setting it to 0 again. After that things work as expected

Never mind, since the April update it's stopped working. I wonder what the problem is with these people
Edit
Restarted my phone and so far it hasn't killed my apps.
I did both the duraspeed and the evenwell options. Everything was fine before April update but afterwards it started killing my apps again, so I set the duraspeed setting back to 1 then 0 then disabled the evenwell stuffed again and restarted my phone
Guys i got this from the Nokia 5.1 forum

Basically it's the duraspeed disabling option. Problem is that everytime you restart your phone the duraspeed becomes enabled again, so you have to redisable it using an app like tasker and set it to execute on boot.
My apps are still active by the way

Thanks man, I didn't know that it used to get renabled, but now I know. My apps too are not being killed that way. And that Tasker method seems to be too lengthy, so I'll choose to disable it after every boot .
