I have had my OP3 for over a week now and this whole time I can not get LTE service. It is just stuck on HSPA. I called AT&T and went to an authorized retailer and a device support center and my problem was not resolved. I contacted OnePlus as well but again got no solution.
HSPA is not too slow, as the download speeds are about 6 Mbps, which is tolerable. But LTE speeds are just so much quicker. One thing I thought I would try is dialing *#*#4636#*#* and checking in the settings in that menu. Under "Preferred Network Type," it says "GSM auto (PRL)," and every time I try changing it to an LTE option it just automatically goes back to the GSM auto option.
Does anybody have any solutions? Any help would be appreciated. Also, my APN settings are 100% correct, they have been checked/changed numerous times.

Yeah change your IMEI back to the one you used for your previous phone. Then swap your sim to the other slot.

AT&T changed it for you? All I had to do was reboot after they changed it on their end and i was good to go. Don't know why you would swap sim trays though. Doesn't matter which one it is, both pick up LTE.

Once I provided the OP3 IMEI-1 to ATT, the phone would only get H using the sim in the 1st tray. Even after I got them to switch it back to my N6 IMEI. Once I put the sim in tray 2, LTE started working again.
I have straight talk which is a MVNO using ATT and I had just H service and it changed to lte service after an hour or so.
I kinda hate my one plus 3 when its off wifi, its always slow speeds and im on AT&T... Here in Oklahoma City.... My google nexus 6p never had this issue it didn't seem... ugh can anyone help?

Curious if anyone else had experienced this.
Over the weekend I could not connect to Verizon's 3g network. When I was in a 3g only area, I would have grayed out bars and no 3g icon. I was able to connect to the 1x network and make phone calls. When I was in a 4g area, I could connect to the LTE network and use data fine. I first re-flashed the 4.0.2 factory radios (I had the 4.0.3 leaked radios) to no avail. Then re-flashed the entire factory image and that didn't change anything either.
I brought the phone to my local Verizon store and they swapped out the SIM card. I was under the impression that the SIM card was only used to connect to the LTE network, so i didn't think it would have any effect. To my surprise, the phone was able to connect to the 3g network again.

According to a friend of mine, the SIM card actually holds the CDMA data in it now, so having a bad SIM card will actually mess up your CDMA.
Guess VZW is GSM now.
Yes, over the weekend my sim died as well. Same exact problem. It happened to a friend as well. For us, it happened Friday.

Verizon validates LTE subscribers via the SIM, like a GSM carrier. There is no ESN, as found in CDMA carriers. This is part of their eHRPD bridge from CDMA to LTE. It is also why people couldn't get 3G when the LTE network crapped out last month.
On the plus side, you can swap phones by inserting the SIM now. Welcome to 1995.
The kid at the Verizon tried to tell me that It probably happened from toggling the preferred network mode from LTE/CDMA to CDMA. I hope that the design isn't so poor that this would be the case.

So, I'm debating right now between the Hox and the gs3 and honestly the only reason why I can't get this phone is because its lte. I use a 3G sim for all my phones (except my nitro, I don't have a sim in that at all) so I need to know if one can insert a 3G sim and still get data. Oh, and I heard this uses a microsim slot? Tim to get my sim cut....

Both hox and GSIII have micro sim slots. It does have 3g, I use it all the time as there is no 4G in Pennsylvania. Not sure if you'd have to sim unlock it though.

Oh. Thanks. Just asking cuz my nitro only works with specifically designed 4G at&t sims. All other carriers, whatever sims they give, work fine.

why are you resistant to update your SIM card? also your 4G LTE connectivity will depend on your data plan.

Same thing for me, except i didnt need a new sim. All they had to do was change the imei on my account so my phone with that imei can receive data. The rep told me that its because you can only have one phone with data at a time, as opposed to just being able to switch sims just to receice cellular service for calls.
Post questions in QnA please

I know the ZL (6506) is capable of working with T-Mobile's new LTE network, but my question concerns the IMEI number and your account with T-Mobile. On AT&T, your account has to have an IMEI number that is known and recognized by AT&T so as to enable LTE connectivity. Is this also the case with T-Mobile??

The info or where you got your info is incorrect. you DONT have to have a IMEI number that is known to AT&T to have LTE. I have changed phones prob 20 times since I got my first LTE phone and NEVER had to change it again.
You can be on the LTE data plan and everything work fine on a old dumb edge phone then put the sim card back in an LTE device and it still work fine...
LTE worked fine on a Canda Note 2 and One X
Same here. TMo does not care. I just started using my ZL teo days ago, before that was Nexus 4. Just took the SIM from the N4 and inserted in the ZL. All works!

Hey people, I'm seriously considering picking up a Sony Xperia ZL C6502 Black. I'm aware that it doesnt support LTE on either network, but the price is insanely lowwww! My question is, does anyone know what kind of speeds I can expect to see on TMO and ATT respectively? I'm currently using an ATT Gnote 2 on ST/ATT and I have a Nexus 4 as a backup which I use on the TMO $30/"unlimited" data plan. I only point this out to indicate that I don't get LTE speeds now, which sorta makes it a "You can't miss what you never had" type of deal. I roughly get about 14-17mbs down on either device. Is there any chance I'd enjoy the same with the 6502 on either of these plans??? Any help/insight or even opinions, would be greatly appreciated.
The speeds to expect will be the same as you have now.......

i just received my ZL C6502 today and noticed that the data connection does not work at all. i followed the APN settings on the t-mobile link you gave and still no dice (it does show full bars and H+ as you mentioned and when i switch the SIM to my old G2X its on full HSPA+ speed). i left the house and it was running ok suddenly and streamed netflix, etc. but when i went home it lost the connection again. I'm suspecting that this phone does not really work on t-mo's 1700 AWS even though the box says so and that i only got online outside the house because that area is on the 1900mhz refarm. is there any difference to t-mo's AWS 1700 and regular HSPA 1700mhz?! any insight or help is appreciated!!
I have a 6506 on TMo so I am limited in help. However, someone in my office has a 6502 on TMo and it is working fine. He had trouble until he manually set it. Same case as mine.
Perhaps you have a defective unit? Try removing and reinserting the SIM card. Perhaps a factory reset.
I had mine for almost a month and has been flawless in LTE when in DC and HSPA in Dallas.

The 6502 is the same as 6506 but without lte it should work I don't have 1900 coverage and I'm always on hspa and there's no lte were I'm at either. U need to make sure the apn is set exactly there should not be any values under proxy and port also under apn type have it blank that was the issue with mine those three things had values and was messing up internet. Also there's three different apn you have use. 1. Fast.tmobile.com (Lte), 2. Epc.tmobile.com, 3. Internet2.voicestream.com. Give it a try.

thanks for the help guys. ive gathered all that info earlier and did try the three APNs different combinations / proxy - no proxy, etc to no avail. i'm leaning on faulty hardware or messed up radio. i'll just sleep over it but so far its been disappointing :crying: great phone though...
As a quick update I did literally sleep over it and I'm happily up and running with hspa.. I literally left the phone alone overnight lol. Rooted the fone and all I need is to figure out how to get to recovery to put CWM since pressing vol up at boot is not working and flashboot isnt going either (that's for another post). That's the thing you had an LTE phone AT&T had in their system when your account was provisioned for LTE so you never had a problem after that. For those people that have the ZL as their first LTE phone on AT&T they will have to first get the account setup for LTE using a phone AT&T recognizes on their network.
So basically put the SIM in an AT&T LTE phone, have AT&T provision it for LTE then once that's done you can put it in any other LTE phone and it will work fine

Metro sets the SIM to the IMEI so it wont work in the other phone.
Network mode is LTE/WCDMA/GSM(auto connect)
APN matches the working phone. Besides you can't change the T-mobile APN settings.

Well that sucks! Didn't know that, sorry.
Are both devices used? It is possible one is defective or has been used/abused to the point of not working right. I'd take it to a Metro store and ask them to try it by registering it with one of their Sim cards and testing it out. Have you tried flashing stock firmware? If it was rooted/flashed in the past, maybe they just didn't take the time to go back to stock correctly.

Is there anyone out there that can assure me the OnePlus 5t i am getting direct from them will connect to AT&T LTE all bands? I am porting my number after I pick it up from FedEx and if this issue is still ongoing I will not pick up the package but have it sent back. I don't want to port my number from another carrier to AT&T or I will be stuck since I am coming from Verizon.

You won't have any problems with GSM carriers. OP5t supports all bands for those. I'm using mine on ATT in New Hampshire and it works normally. On some custom ROMs you might need to play with the APN a bit but on stock it worked fine out of the box. VoLTE and Wifi Calling will not work, even if you enable the settings with a Magisk module, however, so don't count on that.
Yes. I can also attest, works just fine on AT&T LTE.
Works fine on AT&T

Works fine on ATT, but be prepared to deal with ATT support as this device isn't officially LTE certified. When you give ATT your IMEI, you will likely be limited to a HSPA+ connection and see H+ instead of LTE on your status bar. My OnePlus One worked just fine, but I needed a new sim for my OnePlus 5T and took over a dozen calls to ATT support to finally actually get LTE on my phone... but as more and more people get their phones activated on ATT it will probably become less and less of a PITA.
LTE+ actually shows several times for me on the 5t, but as others have said LTE works fine. I didn't have any problems getting LTE with mine. Switches sims and pulled LTE immediately

Woking fine on ATT LTE for my 5T. I popped my sim from my 6P and put it in the 5T. LTE came right up. As others have mentioned, I've read that the issue is that ATT is a prick about unlocked non-ATT phones. Just give them the IMEI of your old phone when porting over and it should be fine.
This is my experience during the last week:
Went to the ATT store , Clinton, Connecticut, bought new sim and activated my brand new 5T. Only got H+. I have an extra att phone, I put the bought and activated att sim from the oneplus in it. But I only get H+ on that phone. So I plan to go to att store and ask them to activate lte on that old phone. Now when I put the sim back into the oneplus . All I got was H+. In other words, what imei will it be for my oneplus? I would assume it will be the old phone imei since the sim was activated on it. I am kind of one track mind about lte, because I had trouble sending pictures over H+. I don't know why I seemed to have problem when other oneplus owners seemed to fix their lte easily. I have spent hours at the ATT store and the tech and manage Mike swore that they cannot help me. They referred to ATT tech support because my 5T is not recognized by ATT network.
PS. I took the 5t to the att store and bought the sim from them. They activated the oneplus imei so that might be the original problem. I really need to fix this.
AT&T can fix it. It's a HUGE pain, but it can be done. Do you have another phone on your account with the same size sim and LTE? My argument to ATT was this:
My wife has a S7 and gets LTE coverage. Phones side by side, the 5T states H+. I take the sim out of the S7 and put it in the 5T and boom LTE.
Support finally did something with the IMEI and ICCID on my account. After two reboots (no idea why two boots unless whatever he tried first didn't work), I got LTE with my sim on ATT. Don't bother with an ATT store as they have proven to be completely worthless. It's not an 'uncommon' problem. Keep contacting support until you get someone who can help you.

That was exactly my problem. I cannot believe the ATT store cannot and or would not fix it for me. Anyway I ordered a new sim for my number directly from
