Hi,
I have a temprooted LG G3 (D855) with Official Marshmallow Stock ROM. I have tried to bump it using this thread, but the moment I have rebooted my device to recovery, I had no recovery at all and it has factory reset my device (don't worry, I had a backup). So I've decided to downgrade it to Lollipop or even to KitKat. I've tried to use LG Flashtool 2014. It had thrown an error on both versions (connection failed). I've read about it and found LGUP and even LGUP thrown an error. I've tried to do it agian from LG Flashtool (the old one) and it thrown this error: "CrossDL [] to [d855].SWversion()" and I've searched for this problem, and found a tutorial to remove this error (using Hex Workshop to delete the model) but Hex Workshop had stopped working when I've tried to save it. And I have a good computer (Intel Core i7 Skylake, 8GB RAM). Even before all that stuff, I had a temproot, which means every time I reboot the phone, the root just vanishing. And I've used KingRoot (which is a good root app) to root it.
Please help me. I want to install CM13 very soon.

Download a twrp bumped recovery img from the twrp site(https://dl.twrp.me/d855/), and Rashr or flashify app. Then use kingroot for your temporary root, then use Rashr or the flashify app to install recovery img, reboot into recovery, and then flash cm13 or whatever you want.
*I'm not sure about obtaining permanent root for MM on your SW version or your model(I have a vs985), but since you are flashing cm13 and not staying on stock you shouldn't have to worry about any of that mess.
You can repeat the whole process on a Windows 7 (32-bit) pc. I had the same problem while i was trying to restore my lg g3 to stock kitkat using flash tool (tot method) on my Windows 10 (64-bit) laptop. I am still unable to restore to stock on my laptop but this process works smooth on my brother's computer with Windows 7 (32-bit).
I am pretty sure changing to a Windows 7 32-bit pc will solve your problem.

That's exactly what I did. And it just removed the recovery. I've also tried to do it through adb and it also failed. I've noticed that there is some missing information in my build.prop file, and I've tried to fill it, but it had no effect.

Will it work in Virtual Machine? I have only 64-bit Windows 7 laptops... But I'll look for one. I'll try it.

OK, so I've tried it and it still won't work. I was using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit now.
I've solved the problem with a little help from CODEFIRE team: I've flashed the tot with the G3-CODEFIRE dll which worked perfectly.
I can't post link because I'm still a new member.
Anyone knows how to close a thread or add the [SOLVED] tag? I'm quiet new here...
Sorry about my bad english.

1) If you have ADB, connect, allow adb and adb reboot recovery
2) Hardware key combo: Volume Up & Power until LG screen appears, then Volume Down twice, then Power (yeah, looks like game cheat code but it really works)
I thought I had the drivers loaded because I could see my phone in explorer but I must not have the drivers loaded.now how can I find the adb drivers and how do I set them up? Every time I think I am getting somewhere I get thrown way back again. All I want to do at this time is reload the firmware so I can access the ext sd card witch was lost while trying to root and install cwm. I am about to throw this **** aginest the wall wall that way this will be fixed for good.
Use LGUnifiedDriver, it should install both adb and LG drivers
Where can I get a clean download of it? I am running windows 8.1 . I do have a pc with windows xp as well just havent used it in a while.
LG's support site I think, I still use old version, from first time I've flashed something via LGFlashTools.. You can download that and LG Support Tool from there too.
I have the lg support tool installed as well as the lg pc suite and lg flash tool. I will give it a shot using the lgunifidedriver. I wonder when I origanly tring to root and install cwm and then lost the ability to access the ext sd and not being able to boot into recovery. Could it have made my phone not recognizably? I can see the phone in win explorer when plugged in. The pc does not recognize it in device manager. It says it has no drivers.
Other than that the phone works normal (makes calls, receives calls, and such.).

That sounds like Windows problem more. You don't have any of those all-in-one driver packs for Android devices installed? How did you root it?
Well I read to use lg support tools to install drivers then used geefree app to root checked with root checker witch said it was rooted ok then used gprorecovery.apk to put cwm on it. Witch said it installed sussfully. After I had it done I noticed I could not access the ext sd card nor boot into cwm. I read on anouther android forum about a felle who had the same issues and someone said the geefree app caused the issues with the ext sd and not booting into recovery.the phone all works fine except for the issues. I figured if I could return back to stock 4.4.2 witch it is on now it should be back to stock and I could try again from the beginning. I also read something about not using a 3.0 usb in windows 8.1 to use a 2.0 usb port. I'll have to see what usb port is what on my laptop. I hope this is all making sense.

Return it back to Jellybean if possible, use old Jellybean root metod available in the forums, install Freegee and flash TWRP from there, and later update it to newer TWRP on forums. Freegee is a step you can't avoid because it's the only way we can unlock our phones (that I know), and their TWRP doesn't support SDCard (not sure about CWM, but I think it also had that problem, it was long time ago I've used it). E980 can get a bit shady, but it's a great phone, so don't lose your patience yet.
Thanks for the info. I belive I have the drivers installed now, I can see the phone in the device manager of windows and it looks to be good. I will keep you informed as to how it go's.

You're welcome, I'm glad I've helped.
About Philz recovery, I think you have full info on it's thread. If you need some more help, I'm around somewhere
Thanks again.
I rooted my G3 using iRoot while having Lollipop 5.0 installed. I have just received my update from LG for Marshmallow. When I tried to do the update it told me that my phone was rooted so I can't get it. I un-rooted my phone, and tried to put everything back to the way it was, but no go. They still said my phone is rooted. The problem is that I can't do a hard factory reset. I get a message "secure booting error ...".
So after reading up on it a bit, I realized I needed to flash a stock ROM through my computer. I downloaded all that I needed, and installed LG Flashing Tool 1.8.1.1023 on my Windows 10 computer, following all the directions exactly (including replacing MegaLock.dll). The program installed, but when I wanted to run it, it told me that it couldn't find MegaLock.dll, and then asked for an ID and Password. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it many times using slightly different versions, but I had the exact same problem each time. Then I decided to try and install it on a Windows 7 machine, and it worked. So it seems that something is keeping it from working on the Windows 10 computer. Can anyone help me with this, or maybe there is another way? Maybe the dll file has to be placed somewhere else? Maybe a different MegaLock.dllis needed that is compatible with Win10? Maybe a different program? I have no idea. Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I had problems with LG Flashing Tool the first time I tried to flash stock after upgrading my system OS to Windows 10. I finally got it to work by changing the compatibility mode for application file to Windows 8. I successfully flashed back to D85510L_00.KDZ after making the change I just mentioned.

Thanks, but I tried that already. Didn't work. In the end I transferred everything to my wife's Windows 7 computer and and did the flashing there. Everything ran as smooth as can be.

Well what you could do, just a suggestion, is root your phone then flash mm 6.0 in recovery
This would probably be the easiest way since your drivers are working

Hi All
Bought a Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) from lightinthebox...came this week and it is full of either bloatware or malware as I can't use the phone with it popping up randomly with adverts and installing apps. I thought it would be pretty straightforward to update to another ROM. It is running Android 5.0
I've had nothing but problems with every step and method I have used. I've downloaded the stock rom from Asus (Android 6) and tried to install from SD card in Recovery I got 'only android 5.0(newer than 20160504 version) or android 6.1 (older version) can upgrade to this version'
I've tried over ADB and even then had issues with drivers (running windows 10). I've also tried the Asus Flash Tool but that didnt work.
Please please before I literally pop this phone in the bin, can someone provide a link to a working stock ROM that I can just install from the SD or whatever method that is known to work.....too many sites have shown various methods all of which haven't worked for me.

Do you have a working phone now ?
You can if you have above , disable WiFi , click app drawer, click on junk app ,and disable junk and it will uninstall it.
Firmware upgrade...
Put Asus firmware on SD ...WW-4.20 bla bla etc , .184 is a good one of LP ..
Make sure it ends in WW-4-20bla bla .184 (user.zip )and reboot phone
You also can change name of firmware to MOFD_SDUPATE , Put in adb fasboot folder and adb sideload..command is.....
adb sideload MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip
Did you try a factory reset in recovery mode rather than a factory reset from the rom?

Hello everyone i am in desperate need of help to fixing my g3... Out of nowhere it just stopped working and got stuck on the lg life is good screen.
I was able to access TWRP but i wasnt able do perform a factory data reset of any sort becasue it said that theres an error in mounting the internal storage, data and i believe cache. I then tried to community based unrooting process which uses a program from 2014 called the lgflash tool (youtube) and after getting about halfway through all the steps it just gives me an error saying that the software couldnt be matched or something like that. What else can i try? i am not in the market for a new phone right now and it just sucks that nothing is working. ive tried it on windows 10 and 8.
ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!
You can try to use LG PC Suite IV available on LG's website. It will install the latest firmware on your phone
