Hi people!
A search for this problem led me to a lot of generalised answers, but nothing that works. So I'm posting here in the hope that someone knows how to fix a small problem I'm having.
I'm running CM13 (Ver: 13.0-20160705-NIGHTLY-d855) and using Total Launcher and almost everything is perfect. Heck, I've even managed to increase my screen on time from under 2hrs 30mins to over 3 hours!
However, I'm having trouble getting Google voice search up and running. The "from any screen" option is missing under the "OK Google" detection settings.
Any ideas?
If I've put this in the wrong section, can someone please move it?

Hi,
My desire keeps playing this woman's voice when it's on the charger but the battery is fully charged, saying 'please notice your phone's battery is fully charged'. Can't find a way to turn this off, and it keeps waking me up in the middle of the night. Is there a way to get rid of it, short of turning the phone off? Because I do need it for the alarm.
Help would be much appreciated.
EDIT: Solved it myself, turns out it was caused by a battery manager app I was running. Thank God I've got to the bottom of it anyway, was getting incredibly annoying.
Do you have a battery app or anything, look it up in there because the desire doesn't do that from itself
Yep, just figured it out. Feel a bit stupid now! Oh well, least it's sorted.
Can you tell me which App is doing this? I have a few apps which claim to do a variety of "battery management" (not sure of the efficacy), and I'm not sure which one is providing this most-annoying of 'features' . . .
Thanks in advance!
-Michael
Another way to avoid trouble is by apk "Timeriffic" it´s on market and it´s free also, and you can program to mute the speaker, can turn on and off wifi, bluetooth, and much more .....
This option also can be interesting.
well, what was the answer?
I also have this problem and would like a solution.
keeping in mind that you yourself described the problem as 'incredibly annoying'.... you should have said which app it is.
now, after searching for the answer, coming across this thread, and seeing your 'non-answer', having to sign up for this site, fill out a registration form, and respond to you, and still having to go through the same work you did, i am quadruply annoyed AND STILL LACK THE SOLUTION.
so if someone finds out which app it is, please notice, your solution to the problem was incomplete and added to my frustration.
doesn't appear to be an answer elsewhere on the net.
so, I am beyond incredibly annoyed. I hate that ladies voice and it's disturbing my sleep as well.
For anyone still struggling with this, the app which causes this annoying voice is called "Battery Booster". They added this "feature" in a recent version of the app and it doesn't seem like there is a setting to turn it off (there are a lot of complaints on the market reviews for the app about this) so the only solution would be to uninstall the app.
Anyone else getting "OK Google" on their screen whenever the face illuminates?
I've only had the watch a few days but last night I noticed that I'm getting "OK Google" across the top of the screen whenever I turn my wrist to look at the watch. I can't actually say "OK Google" to access the voice input prompt but the text is still there. It fades just before the entire face fades but it's very annoying and seems more like a glitch than a feature. Anyone else having this issue and if so how did you fix it?

Thanks for taking the time to post those links. Awesome that none came up in a search. Reading the first few words of the first links gives my solution or at least tells me what triggered it. I activated Ambient Mode to see the face more and am considering disabling that anyway since it seems to annihilate battery life so far. Seems that disabling that setting will correct the 'problem' w/o any additional fuss. Also, I was coming back to post that I was finally able to say 'OK Google' when the little message came up and got the actual voice input prompt and after this it seems as though it's now gone. Another user said something about just saying OK Google when it came up and it went away but I tried this repeatedly prior to creating this thread and was unable to replicate the outcome. It seems so far that I was finally able to do so so I've got a few options plus more links to research if I decided to pursue it.
Thanks again!

Curiosity got the better of me so I went back to try to recreate your results and I think the mistake was that I didn't search this subforum. I think I searched the themes & apps section (I was doing watch faces when I discovered it) and came up with nothing searching that subforum. I started to create a new thread and realized that that probably wasn't the best section for it and decided last minute to create it in the main 360 thread. That would explain why I didn't find anything useful in my search. D'oh!
Mystery solved. lol
So, Ive done the training and ticked off, the right boxes for ok google to kick in, when I say the phrase, and after the first training it worked the first time or two I tried it. Then after waiting ten minutes from the screen being turned off, nothing. The funny thing is I did exactly the same thing on a nvicia shield tablet and that works every time. Now, I dont know as ive read that " hi galaxy" if that is set on can interfere, but since ok google doesnt work from my off screen. I've found that " Hi galaxy seems to work each and every time. The interesting note here is that if im on a screen that shows the google mic icon, if i say ok google it responds normally. Im just trying to figure out why its working for some and not others loke myself. Anyone else having issues with this command or know how to fix it???
I'm having the same issue. I've retrained the voice model a few times. I installed GNL and had absolutely no issues with it working then which leads me to believe it's something to do with the Touchwiz interface and not Google Now settings.
--UPDATE--
I went in to S Voice and disabled the Voice Wake Up command and this has helped. Now Google Now responds even with the screen off.
I'll try that...thx...but i'd like to have both working....if anyone figures it out.

If your screen is turn off, and you say Ok Google, and hear the noise but the screen stays off and you can't really do anything, ENABLE the lockscreen, then it will work from screen off, apparently currently you have to have the lockscreen enabled for it to wake up to a normal Google Now screen like the Moto X does
Hello everyone,
first of all thank you for having such a huge side, all the informations. it's amazing.
So, my english isnt the best, but i try to discribe my problem as good as possible and i would really appreciate if you could help me solving this challenge
I installed CM11. I followed all your steps. And everything works.
But know after using the phone some days and also after answering some phone calls, my opponents say that i sound like i am in a hall after telephoning some minutes. not all the time.. When i change to loud-mode it change and everything is fine again. after 5 minutes of talking in loud mode i can turn loud mode off... and everything is fine also in the other system. I don't have any idea. i also searched here and also in the internet. but because of my lag of language, maybe i search with the wrong words. Sorry for this. Could it be, that i had some troubleshooting during the installation? Update: I found out, that this happened, when i change the position of the phone during the call (from left ear to the right ear. I know, it sounds wired)
And one more question. My phone runs out of battery verys fast. i only installed a view apps. nothing special. do i need to install superSU like in one of your threads to deactivate autostart or do i have option in cm11?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-phone/general/root-fire-phone-supersu-t3105546 ( is this for fireOS or for CM11?)
I found something called "privacy guard". But i dont find it to download(appstore) and also not in the phone itself.
I would really appreciate an answer of my questions. Thanks in advance.

The battery issue has been occurring for about a month now, it seems to be a gapps issue. Turning off apps that use GPS seems to be the fix in most cases. Go into your Apps and make sure you force quit them when they're not in use (or just turn off location services). The biggest offenders for me were Device Manager and Swarm.
I have been using the Moto Z2 Play for almost a year now, and the feature i used every day is waking the phone when the screen is off by using the OK/Hey Google command.
The tooltip in the Google voice match settings used to read: Access your assistant any time you say "OK Google", even if your screen is off or you're using your favorite apps.
However after updating the Google app to version 8.28 the tooltip changed to "whenever your screen is ON" instead of "even if your screen is off".
And sure enough, the phone will no longer respond to commands until i pick up the phone and manually turn on the screen, which defeats the purpose.
Why was this feature removed? I have tried everything and finally had to uninstall Google updates and install an older version(8.24) from apk mirror to get Assistant to work properly again.
What is even more puzzling to me is that this problem seems specific to my Z2 Play, i have the latest Google app version(8.28) on my Xiaomi phone, and the tooltip still says "even if your screen is off" and it works as it should.
I tried Googling this issue, i checked the Motorolla support forums, the Google assistant support forums etc. and couldn't find any mention of this issue.
This has also happened to me! I thought I just needed to reboot the phone to maybe fix a background service that had stopped, but I also see that "...even when your screen is off" has been removed from the Voice settings. This is one of the features that made the Moto Z line attractive to me, and I literally use (well, used) the feature several times a day, especially while driving. I also use Android Auto and now I have to either touch the microphone on my truck's head unit screen, press and hold the voice button on the steering wheel for 3 seconds, or unlock my phone so I can talk to it. I have a self-built Android Auto in my other car and it also has this issue, which I now know is not related to either car's system. Thank you for posting and bringing this to our attention.
I think this must be a bug in the latest Google app. Does anyone know where we can submit bug reports for the app, or voice control/Google Assistant in general?
Has any else experienced this problem, or does anyone have ideas about what to do to potentially resolve it? Surely OP and I can't be the only two people who have witnessed this issue.

It is likely that there just aren't many Z2 play users who frequent xda, and the ones that do never noticed the issue because they don't use the feature.
