[XAP] LG OEM Apps

I know some people have been looking for these. Hopefully opening these up can possibly give us undocumented access to the camera and other functions, as well as someone possibly helping me with coming up with registry and file editors.
Included are:
- ScanSearch (augmented reality POI locator)
- PlayTo (LG's DLNA)
- Panorama Shot (one touch camera panorama)
- Tool Box (world clock, unit converter, world holidays, date calc, sale price calc, level meter, flashlight [uses screen, not led camera flash], random number)
- Photo Stylist (edit photos)
- Look n Type (uses camera to project what's in front of you while you type)
- Network Setup
- Voice to Text
Use at your own risk, I don't know if these apps will be like samsung's (work for everyone) or htc's (works for htc exclusively).

- Today (basically Samsung's Now app, but has a twitter page that you can see tweets from)

i used wp7 3MktPlace to download all LG apps.
PanormaShot doesnt even start...therefore would be nice if someone could patch it.
I still dont understand why the crappy WP7 cams dont have more options than now. Even some old phones I own do have panorama...

I just got in can anyone verify or deny whether lg network setup has similar properties and dlls of the htc connection setup and has the ability to overwrite provxml?

there is other tools to deploy provxml into windows but doesn't accept custom file.

Looking at LG connection setup source code, it seems indeed that they are using provxml. I'll try to extract the code and build a test app.

Ok, here is a customized version of the custom theme app that try to use LG DLL if it's not on a HTC device.

I seem to recall that one of the memebers developed an activ sync to use with Windows Phone 7.5 instead of Zune.

It syncs all of your Outlook and other items between your PC and Phone instead of using Zune. It allows you to also copy files to your Phone.
Just like Active Sync and Windows Mobile device Centre did with all the previous versions of Windows Mobile 6

Looks like it'll be HTC only initially, but that's we have the guys here at XDA for, right?

Once again I’m looking for people willing to participate in the private beta-testing program of my newest app. The app to be released is called “GPS Calculator PRO” and it will be an even more advanced version of the most advanced GPS calculations app “GPS Calculator”. Currently this app can be used to accurately calculate distances, get altitude information from digital elevation models, calculate areas, project locations and convert coordinates between several different formats, including UTM. New version adds an advanced trip computer, track recording and SkyDrive integration and track and waypoints (favorites) import/export using GPX format. Totally Awesome app!!! Very specialised for cartography needs, you'll never lost yourself with that on your device!! Also a pleasant entertainment app if you're curious about your environment...you can compare how big is your field next to the neighbors ones

Removable micro sd means a second slot for extending the memory, not the ability to change the one where the system is

I think he meant the Samsung Focus, which had a removable SD card slot (which the user supplied, hence wondering if it would be supported on this device). But the author would be better suited to telling you what he was thinking

We still don't know what features 7.8 will have besides new colors and a new start screen. Too soon and not enough details to know. I'm personally hoping we get custom alarms and sms tones. We will know more in October.

Well Samsung Focus, HTC HD7, HTC mozart all of this have visible or hidden microSD card. And my question was If can they separate the ROM from microSD card and use it as flash drive.

Not really… The keynote was just a preview for developers. There are countless new features for WP8 that have not yet been revealed which are more consumer related. It might not be as difficult for Microsoft to port those features to WP7.8, who knows.
They just showed WP7.8 in hope it would satisfy the Lumia/Titan II owners who recently invested in WP7 and got the news that WP8 would not run on their devices. Its a compensatory update to give users the sense of satisfaction of at least receiving something.
And they confirmed what WP8 will have for sure, likewise they confirmed what WP7.8 has for sure. It is 100% certain that WP8 has a lot more in store for us. Based on this logic, how can we assume WP7.8 not having anything more than a start screen? Looking at the version bumps 7.0 --> 7.5 (brought a ****load) --> 7.8... If we look at Tango (which remained 7.5) it brought nothing new, why would they bring another Tango like update? It is incredibly costly (all the OEM + carrier testing for a new start screen...) and won't exite any consumer…
I am not getting my hopes up, but there might be a good chance (based on the version bump and the not yet announced "consumer features" of WP8) that we might see a little bit more on 7.8 than just the start screen. It will certainly be beneficial for Microsoft to at least fix the Skype support, only if its just to ease the people on the fence for WP8 wanting proper Skype support (that Microsoft is really capable of doing so).
All in all, its just speculation. Let's wait and see and let's not jump to any conclusion before an official statement has been made.

Paul Thurrott states that Microsoft have told him that WP7.8 is start screen only. This is the same Paul Thurrott who told us months ago that no phones would be updated to WP8

“We care very deeply for our Windows Phone 7.5 customers, Microsoft corporate vice president Terry Myerson says during the presentation. “And because of this, I’m happy to share today that we are creating an update for Windows Phone 7.5 customers that brings to them what we believe is the marquee feature of Windows Phone 8: the new Start experience.”
The problem I have with that one is "marquee feature" he says that it doesn't say "features" so obviously its just the one
But its an odd choice of words not typically used and you wouldn't put an s on the end if it was only talking about THE marquee feature, but that is the main event, not necessarily the ONLY event so its still very much open.
Don't get me wrong tho, I think anything else will be a side line update, not a headline grabber

I just spoke to Bill Gates on the phone ,he said he's scrapping the entire system , "its gonna get a little different after we purchase RIM , so stay tuned"!

Well he might be right. But than again he was wrong on the Mango release date. All we can do really is just wait and see. If it brings nothing else, well thats too bad. The choice is yours, lose a lot of money and get a WP8 phone in Oktober if you really cant live without the new features, otherwise just enjoy your phone until your contract is up. I know how it feels, I just have my Lumia since februari, and I have always updated every 2 years, ill likely lose some money now and update after a year. But the choice is mine, nobody is forcing me to not spend money on a new phone earlier, one can always get a summer job as a student on a limited budget.

[Guide] Activate Windows 8 Permanently

UPDATE: Personalization does NOT work in METRO. Everything works flawlessly and I tend to stay in desktop mode so I didn't realize this. DESKTOP MODE CAN BE PERSONALIZED. This still gives you enables everything I wanted so I don't see the problem. My metro background doesn't matter to me. I can also just install a win7 start menu, but again I have no issues and this works flawlessly.
A tool called "Windows 8 Activator For Build 9200 (Sep 2012)" (Google it, LINK BELOW) will permanently activate Windows 8. Specifically the latest build. Just run it and follow the simple instructions.

The comments seem to be all over the place, I don't see definite proof it will work.

Isn't this classed as warez and is completely banned by xda, why would you want to steal windows 8 anyway? The upgrades only like £20 & I've tried the rtm on a friends pc, its awesome!

idk what to say. I'm no expert tell me a way to show you that my windows 8 copy is fully activated and I'll show you. It worked perfect you dont't need anything complicated. It opens command prompt and works.

Understood. However for people who want to use all the features so they download the newest build (9200) but they run into activation watermarks and notifications. When Windows 8 comes out (October 26th) aka a long time from know, I will most likely buy a licence if not a Surface.
For now however this works. This gives you Windows 8 as it will be on October 26th. working perfectly. I have it on my Acer Aspire One 722 netbook and it works flawlessly AMD has a consumer driver preview for Windows 8 and everything runs smooth.

Apparently this still won't let you personalize. OP pm me plz.

Also OP, how do you know it was permanently installed, and not 90/180 days?

Same problem here, please contact me if you found a solution.

it doesn't let you personalize because Win8 isn't really activated, even though the messages tell you it is. The system files have been tempered with. Read more on MDL about this. It has been shown many times that it fakes activation.

if you do a sfc /scannow and reboot you will see that your system is not activated. If you feel comfortable with it you can keep the files, however you need to realize that you are in fact not activated.
(to find out whether personalization works or not, got to the metro screen, move mouse bottom right corner to open settings in the charm bar, at the bottom you see Change PC settings, try to personalize Lock screen, start screen, account picture - if you are activated you have no problems here, if you are not it's likely greyed out)
best solution to get activated at the moment is to wait for a KMS server or wait until Oct26 to purchase it. You can try to register a PC you may purchase or already purchased here and hope that you only have to pay $15 when it comes out (for a PC you haven't actually purchased). It may or may not work. Many believe that MS won't be able to check that many registered PCs to see if these have actually been recently purchased. We will see.

Windows, not the program confirmed it was permanently activated. This is not kms... this is all done locally.

Interesting. I am not losing any functionality however so can you explain more? I don't see that personalization menu but I can personalize themes and stuff exactly like windows 8. Games work, net framework is functioning so I don't see what I'm missing out on...

UPDATE: Personalization does NOT work in METRO. Everything works flawlessly and I tend to stay in desktop mode so I didn't realize this. DESKTOP MODE CAN BE PERSONALIZED. This still gives you enables everything I wanted so I don't see the problem. My metro background doesn't matter to me. I can also just install a win7 start menu, but again I have no issues and this works flawlessly.

the more important point is that you are not activated. System files have been replaced and sooner than later with a Windows Update these files will be fixed. Just letting you know and that you are aware of it. The system "fakes" activation - period. It spoofs some strings and flips some "switches" to make things appear that you are activated when in fact you are not.
You can do everything else without Win8 activation as well and use the system forever. You have the watermark and a reminder to activate. You can remove the watermark and activation reminder with the remover somebody made . However, that patch will not report that you are activated, it will only remove watermark and bypass activation message. Your OP reports on a nasty (not only my opinion) patch that replaces some system files that actually fake activation. You should at least change the statement that it will permanently activate Windows8, this is not true and has been proven to be fake (see MDL posts).
I personally don't like patches that replace system files that I am not aware of and that claim to give you activation when in fact it replaces text within dll's that fool you. If you want to be informed on how to activate Win8 I suggest reading the MDL forum about Win8 activation.

as much as I don't like his attitude, he is correct that it is malware.

It is not ACTIVATED! I downloaded to try and downloaded Microsoft something. I forget what its called but it checks for stuff on your computer that is not activated and Windows 8 was on there and said Windows 8 is not genuine. SO there you go.
I did manage to activate it permanently though by getting a serial number off a youtube vid and activate via UK Microsoft number and worked WITH personalize working!!!!

THIS IS ILLEGAL. DO NOT POST CRACKS FOR ACTIVATING WINDOWS.
