Download the latest rom from our venomroms download page
If you got an external sdcard place the downloaded zip there. In case you haven't, wait for step 6 to copy it to your internal sdcard.
Backup your internal sdcard if you got important content on it. Unlocking bootloader will wipe all your data, including your internal sdcard. Your external sdcard will stay untouched.
Register at HTCdev if you dont have an account yet and follow the instructions there to unlock your bootloader
Boot up your phone and copy the rom to your internal sdcard in case you didn't in step one to your external.
Download the lastest TWRP Recovery version on the TWRP Download Page
Flash it with fastboot with following command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (replace recovery.img with the actual filename it got downloaded with)
To boot into recovery use 'adb reboot recovery' or press and hold power + volume down and wait till it booted to the bootloader. From there you can navigate with the volume buttons and confirm with the power button to boot to the recovery
If you are coming from stock: Make a backup of your stock rom in TWRP recovery. Include System Image and Boot. Now you have a full stock backup, except recovery, in case you want to return back to stock one day.
Ensure you allow system modifications in TWRP when asked.
In TWRP click Install and pick the rom either from internal or external sdcard to install it.
The installer will start and will guide you through the installation

The 6.0.x ROM is based on HTC 10 Sense 8 Android 6.0.x base and requires you to update your firmware to at least the 6.0.x (Marshmallow) version!
If you don’t you will run into some issues such as Wi-Fi not working or No Boot, etc.
We cannot install the firmware for you during ROM installation so you will need to take the steps to update the firmware on your own.
Note: Current ROM: ViperOneM8_6.0.0 is compatible with ALL carriers, click “info” below to see information regarding the ROM, carrier support, and issues.

I come from Venom 5.0.2 s-on, flashed 6.0 after that my Eye reboot to bootloader, I try it 5 times... so I can say: it doesn't work... :crying:

I'm s-on and running it and loving it and rocking it and happy-ing - - oh wait...
What kernel do you have, man? If you're s-on you have to flash the kernel manually from fastboot

I have 2.8.something something.
I'd check md5 to see if the file is corrupt and would try with the kernel included in the rom.

Having problem with using sd card as internal... Worked fine on 5.0.2...after formatting the device reboots then window opens with android staring with apps starting(like when you turn the device for first time after flashing)... It's starts all over again but never boots system... Could be the card is the reason.... Other than that rom works very good, no issues... Desire eye... (sorry for my bad english))))

FAQ:
Q: Whats the md5 sum thing?
A: It ensures, that the rom is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid weird issues when installing/using the rom. Google for "md5 sum checker" and you should find what you need.
Q: My phone stucks on HTC splash screen
A: "fastboot erase cache" in fastboot and flash the boot.img or use the boot.img flasher provided here.
Q: Whats the boot.img. Why we need to flash it?
A: The boot.img is the kernel and have to be flashed if you want your rom running well. HTC Dev Unlock doesnt allow to install the kernel directly when installing the rom in recovery, thats why you need to install in manually.
Q: What means PkMn?
A: It stands for Pokemon and it's more a fun name....we will have fun here right? =D
Q: I found a theme or mod, will it work on this rom?
A: It's NOT recommended to use mod/themes that dont clearly state, that they are compatible with our rom. Thems/Mods always use framework files which will brake mods/stuff in our rom.
Q: My question is not listed here, what to do?
A: Ensure you used the xda search, google and your brain before asking a question in the thread. If you cant find an answer yourself we will answer your question for sure! (-:

A: Your HTC Widgets got some kind of 3D effect which may make your Rosie laggy. You can see that 3D effect clearly on the HTC 4x4 Weather widget.
Smooth: Flattens all widgets besides the one you start scrolling

Q: Whatis that gsm auto prl thing?
A: Explanation to network modes:
WCDMA preferred - The GSM phone is capable of using both 2G and 3G data communication and when signal strength is low 3G is favored more.
GSM only - The GSM phone is capable of using only 2G data communication. When the 2G signal is too low you get nothing at all.
WCDMA only - The GSM phone is capable of using only 3G data communication. When the 3G signal is too low you get nothing at all.
GSM auto (PRL) - The GSM phone is capable of using both 2G and 3G data communication and when signal strength is low 2G is favored more.
WCDMA preferred is default on our phones. It was possible to choose gsm auto prl via the hidden phone menu...but somehow it doesnt stick after a reboot.
gsm auto prl settings can save you a lot of battery life, each time you are in a low signal area, 2g is favoured instead of 3G.
So it wont poll the the network for a better connection the whole time.
Q: Why does my swype2unlock doesn work?
A: Seems you mix up sweep2wake from shows bricked kernel with swype2unlock
sweep2wake is kernel related and makes it possibel to turn screen off and on by swyping your finger from back to menu key.
swype2unlock isnt a kernel feature. it makes it possible to unlock your lockscreen intead of moving the ring by sliding your finger from back to menu button and NOT to wake your device and put int into sleep.
Q: The cube effect isn't working on the app drawer
A: The cube effect just appears when you swype from the all over the frequent to the download tab.
Q: Volume wake isnt working after some time when the device is in deep sleep.
A: This is a kernel issue, no way I can fix it in the rom.
Q: I have problems ending a call, problems with lags when making a call.
A: Some users reported that its related to the fine/finest volume tweak. Set it to normal to fix your issue.
Q: I need someone repackaging a kernel
A: Kernels dont need to be repacked for our rom. We dont have ramdisk tweaks. So you are abel to flash teh kenrel straight from the kernel devs thread.
Q: I have problems ending a call, problems with lags when making a call, or low volume issues.
A: Some users reported that its related to the fine/finest volume tweak. Set it to normal to fix your issue.
Q: I have no data/phone connection after flashing the rom?
A: In the aroma installer please select custom installation and check the box which says: "Change to original GSM/WCDMA Mode for network"

A: Try 720x1280.
Q: What are the correct sizes for custom carrier logo?
A: Try 100x100
Q: Will there be CRT On/OFF support in the next release?
A: NOT possible, because HTC changes some required code in their libs, that makes it impossible.
Q: Several HTC Widgets are missing - can't add them to my homescreen.
A: Settings->apps->all apps: choose htc sense and clear data.

Sharing policy:
We know that we got some stuff here - and more will follow - which others dont got. Why? Because we spent LOTS of time to achieve what we've achieved.
You are not allowed, if you are a dev, themer or whatever to take stuff of our rom and use it in your theme/rom.

Do a nandroid backup!
Start rom install process and make sure you select to wipe data in aroma

Q: How do I install the rom?!
A: Installation instructions above.
Q: Whats the md5 sum thing?
A: It ensures, that the rom is downloaded correctly and completly to avoid weird issues when installing/using the rom. Google for "md5 sum checker" and you should find what you need.
Q: Whats the boot.img. Why we need to flash it? (s-off folks ignore)
A: The boot.img is the kernel and have to be flashed if you want your rom running well. HTC DevUnlock doesnt allow to install the kernel directly when installing the rom in recovery, thats why you need to install in manually.
Q: I found a theme or mod, will it work on this rom?
A: It's NOT recommended to use mod/themes that dont clearly state, that they are compatible with our rom. Themes for other venom roms, *may* work...however if they flash apps or framework files you may run into serious problems. Anything for the venom theming engine is fine, but remember it may not theme everything on our specific device.

A: Your HTC Widgets got some kind of 3D effect which may make your Rosie laggy. You can see that 3D effect clearly on the HTC 4x4 Weather widget.
Smooth: Flattens all widgets besides the one you start scrolling

Q: The cube effect isn't working on the app drawer
A: The cube effect just appears when you swipe from the all over the frequent to the download tab.
Q: What are the correct sizes for the App drawer and notfication pulldown background?
A: Try 480x800.
Q: What are the correct sizes for custom carrier logo?
A: Try 100x100
Q: Will there be CRT On/OFF support in the next release?
A: NOT possible, because HTC changed some required code in their libs, which makes it impossible.
Q: Several HTC Widgets are missing - can't add them to my homescreen.
A: Settings->apps->all apps: choose htc sense and clear data.
Q: How do I set the rom up for GSM? Will I get 3g?
A: Select GSM as the version of the rom you want during install...testers reported EDGE only speeds (same as all other ports).
Q: Can I use a custom kernel with this rom?
A: Presently, no. Unless HTC releases kernel source for the chinese OTA's, or the Virtuous Team brings their work on the 3.xx primou kernel to this device, we are stuck with the stock chinese kernel.

As if the ROM wasn't customisable enough, the venom devs have also developed the Venom theme kitchen.
Really want some statusbar icons that aren't in the Hub. Or got a great idea for a set of Sense icons? Why not make it yourself and share it with others via the Venom Hub?!
We've put some themes in the Hub to get you started, but the aim is to fill it with user generated content. We've tried to make the tutorial as easy as possible, but if you have any questions, here's the place to ask.
Post your completed themes here, with a screenshot. If the theme looks nice we will add it with credits to the venom hub, so all users can download it from there!
One thing we ask though - ideally you'd be using icons you've created yourself. If you are going to use someone's else icons, please ask them for their permission first. We all spend a lot of our free time making these, and it's really annoying to see your work ripped off by someone else! I'm sure you'd all agree. If you used icons from the UOT kitchen, then say so.

Q: I tried out some cool looking status bar themes from Venom Hub, but they dont theme my data or signal icons?!
A: Since Venom Roms are primarily on gsm devices, most existing themes are meant for qHD and HD res GSM devices. Our cdma rom calls on different icons, and the respective devs set "all devices" for those particular themes when they really dont apply to us. I'll do my best to port them and reup them.
Q: Can I take someone elses theme for another device/rom and port it for venom?
A: We cannot add your theme to venom hub if its using someone else's work, unless they give you specific permission.

will add that in next version...this is a viperDHD port which torxx has been using a different base on then viperINC and viperVIVO which i set up (the tweaks and framework mods are the same ones I ported in)
we are moving all viperWVGA devices to a common base (this) and I didn't realize trace keyboard wasnt in the rom (i dont have a desire z)
will make sure that is in future updates though

I ran the rom fully stock for about two days now, and it behaved decently. It was surprisingly fast but it's smoothness had proven to be inconsistent at times. After it was publicly released I thought I'd just use ROM Cleaner on it, and it's even better now.
I haven't tried other full S4 rom's, only Gen.Y S4A. I mostly play games and listen to music on my phone, and Viper S4 did a great job at running games. My gaming experience was somewhat better than S4A, and other ICS/GB rom's. It also played music without much issues (sometimes the music would stop for a sec as I went from screen off to screen on).

After a full boot I typed the following in my command window:

It shows that swap is enabled by default and it is not allowing me to enable sd swap.
Could you please tell me which swap is it showing and how did it appeared?
I checked my data partition and it has its full capacity available. Also my sd card is not being used as swap, then how is swap enabled here??
Is it a false information??

Additionally, you need to be on at least TWRP if you intend to flash this rom.
If you are NOT on the latest recovery or have not flashed the ota firmwre and have a rom complaint, I will not address it.
Flashing Procedure is as follows:
1. Compare the md5 sum of your download.
-Windows: MD5 Calculator
-LINUX: Open Terminal and type: md5sum [path to the rom zip]
-Mac: Open a terminal and type: md5 [path to the rom zip]
2. Flash the required firmware update (1 time flash). If you've already done so, skip to step 3. If not:
If you want to flash without the aid of a PC, you MUST rename the file to 0PJAIMG.zip and your micro sd card MUST be formatted FAT32. exFAT and NTFS will not work. After doing so and entering Download mode, you should see the following:

press VolUp to start flash
press VolDown to cancel
Press VolUp to flash the firmware.
If you'd prefer to use your PC however instead of the recommended Download Mode method, do the following:
-Place the firmware zip file in your fastboot directory
-fastboot reboot bootloader (or just reboot to bootloader any which way you like)
-fastboot oem rebootRUU
-fastboot flash zip vzwm9ota5_1firmwareTWRP2864.zip
if you have changed the name of the zip file, obviously you would change it in the above command.
You will likely need to flash it twice if you choose to do it this way instead of the download mode method.
When completed, to get out of RUU mode, you do a fastboot reboot-bootloader
Now you can boot to recovery to flash any 5.1 rom
3. Reboot to Recovery: Recommended: twrp-2.8.6.4-hima
4. If you have already flash the required firmware, scroll down and select "Wipe"
5. Do a "Swipe Wipe" (I prefer a Full advanced Wipe of cache, dalvik, system, and data)
7. Install Rom Zip
8. Reboot and enjoy!Further questions about the ROM

Been running Alphas of this for a few days... It was faster, more stable, and provided better battery life than any other M9 ROM I've flashed. Can't wait to try out the full release!
Also have to say that Neo worked his butt off in getting this up and running--mad respect for him!

Guys, disable Ambient Display for now. It doesn't light up the screen like it should and is an annoyance when trying to wake your phone when you have a notification come through lol I must've messed it up but I'll fix it next week. For now, go to Settings-Display&Gestures-Untick Ambient Display.

Battery is pretty nice imo. I had a 2% overnight loss in a 7 hour time frame. That's without using any power savers or turning the radio off.
To anyone else running this rom: Whatdya think? How's that lag free keyboard ? What needs to be improved?
I highly recommend flashing the Xposed Framework (xposed-sdk21-arm64-20150430.zip) and the Zero infinity sound mod. Both of which you can find on XDA. Normally I would have included both of these in the rom however on the m9, doing so led to a no boot. They work great flashing after the rom though! If I have some time later I will link both mods in Post #2.

That's pretty good. Right there with viper which is by far the best life that I've found on this phone so far. Screen on drain seems a bit faster but I only flashed last night so it needs to settle a bit but I'm confident that it will at least match it if not beat it .
I flashed the 04/30 xposed. I'll check out the sound mod too. Sense 6 toolbox seems to be working for the most part but they're still working on bugs. I can't think of anything to improve yet. Too early

How to install:
*Important! DO A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST!
On TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP):
#Download the latest version from here and flash it via ODIN
Copy the rom to SdCard and reboot to recovery.
Press Wipe > Advanced Wipe.
Select (Dalvic Cache, Cache, System, Data, Preload) then Swipe to Wipe.
Go back to main screen and select Install.
Locate ADORCE Rom and Swipe to Confirm Flash. (make sure "Zip file signature verification" is UNCHECKED).
-If you placed the rom in external sd card you'll find it under /external_sd
-If you placed the rom in internal storage you'll find it under /sdcard
On ClockWorkMod (CWM) / Philz Touch recovery:
#Download the latest version.
Copy the rom to SdCard and reboot to recovery.
Select Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Select Clean to Install a New Rom
Select Yes, I will install a new ROM!
Go back to main screen and select Advance.
Select Wipe Dalvic Cahce then select Yes.
Go back to main screen and select Install Zip.
Locate ADORCE Rom then select Yes - Install xxx.zip
-If you placed the rom in external sd card select Choose zip from /sdcard1

-No, It works only on GT-I9500

-CLEAN INSTALLATION IS ALWAYS RECOMMENDED, but I can give a hand here, try to clear data and cache of the app and optionally restart your device.
I. Does ADORCE Rom flash the modem automatically?
-No, I didn't make ADORCE Rom to automatically flash the modem; for those coming from kitkat if they then decided to revert back to kitkat so they won't have any EFS issues with kitkat modem
J. I'm on Kitkat version, can I flash ADORCE ROM directly without flashing stock Samsung Lollopop firmware?
-Yes, while it's recommended to flash a stock Lollipop firmware first, but it's okay if you don't. Make sure you do full wipe.
K. I've selected X in Aroma but I don't see my choice have been applied in the ADORCE ROM!
It must be a mistake when I was writing the installation files. f.e. wrong folder/file name.
Report that please to fix it for the future and I may provide you with a flashable zip.
Or you can do it manually by extracting it from ADORCE ROM zip file:
- Open ADORCE Controls > Useful Apps > ES File Explorer
- Go to where you placed ADORCE ROM zip file and open it then try to find the missing thing you need under ADORCE folder
- Copy it to /system .
- Return to ADORCE Controls > Useful Apps > Fix permissions > Reboot.
DO NOT FORGET TO REPORT IT TO ME!

1. Place the downloaded Droid_Max_Marshmallow zip file and CWM Recovery zip file in your phone's sdcard(Don't put in any folder or ext.-SDcard)
2. Now Power off your Phone & boot your phone in recovery by pressing VOLUME UP+HOME+POWER Key Simulteanously for about 3-4 seconds
3. Now you are in stock recovery mode. Use power key to select an option & volume key for up-down.
4.Select "apply update from sdcard" Option & then select the "cwm_recovery.zip" that you have downloaded.
5. Now your stock recovery is replaced by CWM Recovery.
6. Now navigate to "wipe data factory reset" & then click "yes".
7.Simliarly select "wipe cache partition" & then "yes"
8 Now go to "advance" option in cwm. & select "wipe dalvik cache" and then "yes".
9. Now come back in main cwm screen by pressing back softkey of your phone & select "install zip from sdcard" then select downloaded rom file "Droid_Max_Marshmallow.zip".
7. Now you are in "Aroma Installer" follow on screen instruction to complete installation.
8. After the installation finishes select "reboot system now" in main cwm screen.
And you are done! You have successfully installed the rom.
Note* :-first boot may take longer than usual so keep calm.

No its working i checked it myself. Try flashing rom again. Don't forget to wipe data, cache & dalvik cache.

I will release DroidMax v1.1 a minor update with some bugs fixes soon. To get latest updates join my fb group.

I Would like to request you to show option to show bettry % in Status bar with bettry icon. Bettry % shows only when screen is locked. Hope you will add this in your next update.. eagrly waitng for V2.

I will try to fix every bug in next update. And many features and changes coming in V2.

No! because it is just a theme not real marshmallow os. It is still gingerbread.

Can port for Galaxy Y S5360 ?

Yes ! this is mod custom rom based on stock rom of device !:laugh:

I just flashed this ROM. But right now I want to go back to the original gingerbread version. Is there any way? Please tell me.
