I'm sorry but no, you haven't looked everywhere. Try using the search function.

Both Kingroot and Kingoroot will grant you TEMPORARY and very unstable root access, but it only lasts for a minute or two, at best, and definitely NOT through a reboot. Look for a guide to Permanent Root and TWRP for instructions on how to gain permanent root privileges. To summarize the process, you'll need to exploit the temporary root access in order to push some commands to modify your CID, essentially converting your retail phone to a Developer Edition. Repeating a similar process cracks the kernel open (and trips Knox, but that isn't necessarily a deterrent), at which point you can install a custom TWRP recovery, then flash custom rooted firmware. Upgrading to Marshmallow requires most of these procedures to be repeated all over again. Obviously, there is more to it than what I've stated, but that is a basic overview of what you'll need to do in order to achieve perma-root. There is a lot of reading involved and no real shortcuts, but all the information you'll need is in this forum and it is very much worth all the aggravation. Just be sure to set aside a few hours to dedicate to the process. Good luck!

My Evo is doing fine, but I was trying to help a friend root his yesterday and the Unrevoked 1-click apk didn't appear to be doing the trick. The only difference I can think of between our two phones is that I haven't downloaded the update that came this week. Has Sprint defeated this root method in the most recent patch?
Yes...they are up to UnrEVOked 3.

Right, this method requires you to use a PC though, right? I'm wondering if its still possible to root it using the unrevoked on-phone application, or has this been defeated? And if so, was the defeat in the most recent patch?
bump. I'm afraid the answer given is still a bit unclear to me. Can someone please clarify?
Make sure you are going to 'unrevoked.com/m' if you want to use it on your phone and avoid having to use the pc method. I forgot the /m when I first tried it and got pretty confused as well.

Yes, this is exactly what I did. The apk downloaded and installed, but didn't appear to gain root when I ran it. I ran it several times, but every time I attempted to run wifi tether, it would say that I wasn't root.
You can try downloading the Simple Root app from the development forum, Its only 4 clicks and its a legitimate full root. It does require the PC, but you seem to know how to use one of those as you got to this website.
Don't take shortcuts because your not sure what you're doing, learn

Thank you for the reply. I'll probably end up Simple Root for myself, but this is for a somewhat elderly friend of mine. He only needs root for wifi tether, since he can't get broadband where he lives (3g is okay). I figured the apk root method would be suitable for him since he would know how to uninstall it if he needed to claim is warranty or something. I won't be around to support his phone for him.
Anyway, thanks again. I'm still learning myself and appreciate the advice.
Ahh ok, he can always hit the wipe button and it will go back to a state good enough for the average sprint rep.
I Installed unrevoked 3by usb because i got last version 147.651.1. Its anyway to unroot and get back to stock rom. I tried different ways and nothing for example i wiped data, hard reset . etc.
Right now i dont have wifi is unable and that why i would like get back to stock. Also i use the method with htc sync and the ruu 132.651.1 andgive me error 171 then reintall the ruu give me error 140 and boot to the main screen/
Please any solution to get back to stock .
thanks in advanced,
Hi there,
A while back I updated my already rooted Z1C to the newest firmware 14.6.A.1..236 via PC Companion. I thought it was just a minor update so I did not think of losing my root access
As far as I know all I can do now in order to get back my lovely root privileges is by going back to Kitkat, install Dualboot Recovery, put my pre rooted Android on my phone and flash it.
So here is my question:
Is there any fancy way of doing this more directly? I would much prefer not having to fiddling around with backups, which may or may not restore all my data...
I would also be interested in why I can't just flash the flashable.zip directly onto my phone using Flashtool or similar. As an IT student I would really like to learn this kind of stuff
Thanks in advance!

You can get root with KingRoot app and then you can change it to SuperSu with this guide:
Code:
www.w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.html
(I know that the guide is somewhere in XDA, but can't find it.) I have tested the procedure and for me it worked.

Thanks for your fast reply. However, after googling the App while the download was still going I found several articles which found the App not trustworthy. Trying to download the App from their site directly even gave my a very clear warning. So I'd rather use something else :/
I think the best reasons against the App can be found here:
https://www.quora.com/Is-KingRoot-the-one-tap-Chinese-rooting-app-legit-and-safe
If, however, a more experienced and credible user (sorry foguh, this is nothing personal ) can recommend the App as well, I might give it a shot...

There are 381 pages about KingRoot, I am not entirely sure is it only about people begging for specific root methods, but I believe there could be some convincing posts about it. And I don't trust KingRoot that much myself, that is why I included the post how to replace KingRoot with SuperSu.
Nothing taken personally though, just trying to provide solution for you, which worked for me
I am still unsure of the App but as it seems to be the easiest option I installed it and rooted my phone with it.
Everything went quite smoothly. One thing I really didn't like however is the required internet connection during rooting. Normally this tells me immediately that its fetching some malware and I get my hands off...
Of course I also immediately replaced their App with SuperSU but I am still worried it might placed more on my phone than it claims.... Let's hope for the best
Anyhow, thanks a lot to you foguh! It's really nice to get so quick and helpful responses and I appreciate the effort
Have a nice day/evening/morning/night/...

Glad I could help!
As far as I am aware, the internet connection during rooting process is for fetching the correct root method for the phone (and that damn Purify app.)
But if you are worried that there could be some other leftovers, you can monitor the network traffic of your phone to be 100% sure. And of course go through the files manually. (Personally, I haven't bothered to do it, I trust people too much)
The easiest way to say "Thanks!" is to hit the button below!
I am following the instructions in the following thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...asy-guide-how-to-root-verizon-galaxy-t3454593
I downloaded all the files and successfully installed 5.1.1 with ODIN. I installed kingroot and ran it, which successfully gave me root access. The problem is that immediately after I verify that I have root access, the phone reboots, and the root access is gone. It happens too quickly for me to run the commands in minimal ADB and Fastboot. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Try using this video and this guide instead. It's almost always easier to root when you can actually see someone else go through the steps. Also, if Kingo Root doesn't work, try using King Root, I found that when one doesn't work, the other one will, 80% of the time. Keep in mind that you have to be on BPA1 before you can start rooting.

Hello,
I recently started using Moto G6 Play, and am wondering now what is the best and easiest option for root. I searched a bit on the forum and found one thread for root that includes unlocking bootloader and is more complicated than some info i have found on google - rooting with KingoRoot without pc (if that's even possible).
Device info: XT1922-3, 3/32gb
Build number: OPPS27.91-177-2
Android 8, latest security patches, available 9 Pie update.
Soo, my question is - Will methdos like KingoRoot work because that will suit just fine for me since i do not want to flash anything extra, but only debloat and optimize stock rom? And i suppose my bootloader is locked because when i power up with volume down + power it says oem_locked so thats another reason for pcless root.
Anyone can help?

DONT USE KINGO ROOT. For one you have to unlock the bootloader anyway so you can root please just use my guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/g6-play/how-to/guide-t3929928 to avoid screwing up your phone with any root like KINGO root. You have come on here asking what the preferred method is and over 5,000 people are using my guide lol so my guide is the preferred. You need all that in order to pass play store safety net if you even want be able to download alot of games or if you download the apks the game won't load and KINGO root 100% fails safety net checks to make sure your passing it

Hi, thanks for quick response,
Well yea, i gave up on KingoRoot after some researching that it might not be safest thing to use. But it seemed pretty handy for my situation. And yes i saw your guide and considered it as option but didnt really find any more reliable threads (maybe i didnt search long enough tho). Btw, as i noticed you method requires unlocked bootloader so if you have some thread available about it throw it here if you can, if not thanks anyways.
Regards

It's not an option, it's THE WAY. It's how to root.
Unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, use TWRP to flash encryption disabler and magisk.
Systemless root is the way now. Root is in the boot.img now. One click roots are dead.
The end

Got it.
Root oppo f1s marshmallow 6.0 on 2021 without TWRP or PC, ONE CLICK, read all the words i wrote here
Video tutorial :
WARNING : ur responsible on any damage you may cause while using root access ,
This is how you can root your oppo f1s with one click
-Install Mtk-easy from this link https://www.mediafire.com/file/uykcln2dgmqxkid/mtk-easy-su-v2.0.6.apk/file
-Click on the # button
-when you get the message , get ou of mtk-easy and wait until the "magisk" with default android image pop up on the apps list
click on it then update it and wait for the installation
And done, u can run magisk and manage root access
U NEED TO REPEAT THESE STEPS EVERY TIME U REBOOT YOUR PHONE
uninstall magisk when u turn off then on your phone next time, and use mtk-easy again to grant root access for u , it will install magisk again and u'll keep repeating these steps to never lose root access
Kinda easy , waited for years
Hear me out. Some people will be doing that and probably Safety net will be an issue, if it was that easy then why did I and many people as well write long tutorials that tell you how to root? It's for a reason that MTK phones are finicky with root and if you don't root them carefully it can become cumbersome and probably brick your device. I don't want to hurt your feelings, this is a great method, but it requires too much user interaction every time your phone reboots.
if anyone failed this even after turning on 64-bits on mtk-easy
Go to mobile data settings and get out google services and playstore from connecting to the Internet
uninstall magisk and mtk-easy then install only mtkeasy, open mtk easy then the method should be 100% working

yeah i agree, but its better than getting up to the risk of changing the recovery with another one like TWRP which is the part that most users fail and end up with a bootloop on other previous methods that require 0 fails on the downloadtool usage

These methods may be really good for devices that don't even have a custom recovery. As for us, we have CTR recovery which is really smooth and doesn't bug out unlike TWRP. So this method may not have any use because I also have a custom ROM coming up
