So my phone was working fine, and I decided to root it. It still worked fine after rooting. I installed Redemptive Revolution, and all of a sudden every app that was non-stock (Astro, WifiTether, Rom Manager, etc.) would stop responding and make me force close them every time I opened them. The only way to fix this was to uninstall the app and reinstall it via market. I've tried out several different roms since, and the problem persists. I have also tried reinstalling the stock kernel, which did not help either. I find this annoying and do not want to have to reinstall all of my apps. If anyone has/had this problem and/or knows a fix, I would highly appreciate it.
Thanks,

What verison of CWM Recovery do you have? Did you do a full wipe before you installed RR?

I have 3.0.0.5 (Newest Version)
Yes I fully wiped before installing RR, and I am now running SkyRaider 3.5 if that helps.
Flash an earlier version of CWM.
How: Rom Manager>Scroll to bottom, All Clockwork Recoveries>Flash 2.5.1.4

there is your problem, the newer verisons CWM don't fully wipe correctly. Go back to 2.5.1.2 (what I use and never had a problem, go into rom manager > scroll to the bottom > All ClockworkMod Recoveries, pick 2.5.1.2 and ok.)
Then wipe and flash the rom of your choice and that should fix all those force close problems.

I have a Sony Arco HD (Japanese version of the Acro S), and I have some weird experiences.
Firstly, I installed Nordic stock .200. Then, as I have LB, I installed trinity raptor rom. This uses the aroma installer.
Thought I'd try a different rom, so I tried the BlackZax7 rom, which flashes straight from a zip.
When I flashed it, my phone wouldn't go past the Sony logo.
So, I got it into flash mode, re-flashed stock 200, rooted, installed CWM again, than tried to restore the backup I'd made with CWM, but it failed. No idea why.
SO I reflashed Trinity, using aroma, no problem there.
Today, I thought I'd have another try at installing the BlackZax7 rom, so I backed up my rom again. Thought I'd test my backup, so I tried to restore my back-up straight away. Wouldn't boot past the sony screen, despite seeming to be successful in restoring my working rom.
In both cases, if I plug phone into a power source (USB or mains), it turns itself on, and sticks at the Sony logo. If I unplug it, I can turn it off using the hard reset. But as soon as I plug it in again, it will turn itself on.
When I get home, I will fix my phone with flash tool, but any idea why this oddness would happen?

Yeah, a real and correct flashing of a ROM is made with Flashtool, not through CWM, flashing through CWM will never install a ROM correctly,
That's just not true. It's normal to back-up and restore ROMs using cwm.

You aren't helping. Please stop.

Restore, maybe. Flashing through CWM it's not so accurate.

Ok, you have to wipe everything, dalvik's cache included, after that power on your phone, install drivers, restore to factory settings just to prepare your phone for a clean ROM flashing.Do that and you can flash ROM through CWM without problems.

I've flashed roms to this phone, to my tablet, all through recovery.
There is some kind of problem with the combination of kernel, recovery and phone.
Flashing roms through recovery isn't hard, normally. I've even done it on the train to work!

Nope, that's not the answer. The roms I am trying to flash are for locked BL, ie they use the stock Kernel.
Anyway, I recovered it last night using flash tool, so I'll probably stick to stock Sony rom for a while seeing as there isn't much change in performance if you can't change the kernel.

Yeah, Japanese carriers wouldn't even let you do a sim unlock after you finished paying for the phone until recently. I bought my first Japanese smartphone, a Sharp, but Softbank won't let me do a sim unlock. Unbelievable.
Regarding my problem, maybe due to having Trinity 2.7 installed? I had no problem flashing roms or reinstalling backups via CWM on rooted stock .200 or Trinity 2.6.
OK, so I went into TWRP 2.6.0.0 and tried to flash CM 10.2. It came up with an error so I restored using the backup I had made, and after the restore it told me that root permissions had been lost, and asked if I wanted to fix it. I swiped to rix root permissions, and now it doesn't seem to be able to boot up.
It gets through the boot animation fine, bu gets stuck on the final screen where it flashes SAMSUNG across the screen. I can boot back into TWRP and have tried wiping data and starting fresh, installing a different ROM, everything I can to try to get it to start fresh, but the phone always gets stuck at the same screen flashing SAMSUNG.
Any ideas of what I should do to remedy this problem??

Start fresh again but this time in TWRP goto wipe/system that will rid all old rom files which sounds like your issue, worth a shot

Hopefully I can get a fast response here, I did that, but got a warning "No OS installed" before rebooting. Is that just telling me no ROM installed or does that literally mean that there is not an OS on the phone anymore? The second option seems unlikely but I don't want to risk it and mess things up even further.

well after you wipe everything including system you need to install a rom. IF your NOT currently OTA updated to 4.3 use billard's zip:::::
[ROM/RESTORE][!MD4 OTA!](5-10)Quick Return to UNROOTED STOCK WITH FLASH COUNT RESET
Wipe everything :/system
Flash billards zip
Flash root.zip to keep root
Flash recovery zip to keep custom recovery
reboot

OK, I'll try to find a ROM to install really quickly just in case, but the problem comes in somehow I get an error on every single ROM I try to install, still don't know the issue, as I have installed many ROMs on my One without issue (this is my mom's S3, she just wants tethering to be a native feature on her phone.)

If that's the case, I'd recommend this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549136 I installed the SPHL710_ALLINONE_MK3_ODEX_12-04-2013_1030pm.zip which includes the latest stock 4.3 without all the KNOX stuff and with native tethering.
It also wipes the system partition for you.
Good luck!!

Shouldnt be getting any errors installing/switching roms if your wiping correctly, If native tether is all your after then most if not all custom roms come with it enabled or you can keep stock rom and just flash the hotspot mod [MOD][Deodex][Odex][MB1][MC3][MD4][MK3]Hotspot Mod - Working 4G

I'm just as confused as anyone as to why I'm getting errors. The phone has proper root access and is running on TWRP, the same recovery I use on my One, and I have done at least 50-60 flashes of ROMs on that phone, without issue. I keep getting virtually the same error, something wrong with executing the updater binary in zip.

The ALLINONE worked! Thank you so much for the help guys! I appreciate it!
Hi, I just installed this rom and I admit it, this is the best rom I have ever used so far. However I encountered problems from my 1st day of using it. My phone keeps forced restart everytime I simple things such as restoring backup using titanium backup, and also when I charged overnight, my phone freezed so that I need to pull out the battery.
Any idea what might cause this? And how to solve this?
I used to use rooted stock kernel stock rom 4.1.2 from samsung, then I installed tigra rom v4 without flashing mj5 bootloader, I only flashed dr ketan wifi fix patch. Then before I installed this rom, I used "clean install rom" in philz recovery after that I installed dn3 v3.2.
Did I miss some steps here?
Do I need to full wipe using philz recovery or it is sufficoent with its "clean install rom"?
Or maybe this problem has relation with bootloader? Do I need to flash it with mj5? Bcs I didnt make any change on it since I dont have any idea with bootloader.
Please help me, I really love this rom, and I want to make it in my phone for a long time. I have looked for the same problem with me in this thread n couldnt find any answer. Thank you in advance,
First I would try Dr. Ketan's reboot and wifi fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46222818&postcount=3
Second option, if no help from the fix, you might flash mj5 BL.

thanks for the reply . i had tried that way, i fresh-installed all my apps using google account, i mean i freshly installed all the apps from playstore when i log in my google account (google stores all the apps i have installed, and freshly installed all the apps i used to use back to my new rom from playstore). any suggestion?
You can only flash BL with PC-Odin PDA look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500823
Hope after flashing the boot loader your problem is solved.

That also happened to me. Flash the MJ5 bootloader. I flashed the "BL_N7100XXUEMJ5_1903221_REV04_user_low_ship.tar" using ODIN 3.09
to be specific. Then I downloaded the :samsung info" app to check if my patching is successful.
Okay, Somewhere along the line I flashed something or Xposed Something and it's got my phone acting wonky. I've literately selected every option in TWRP Deleted and Flashmode reinstall with Flashtool and I still have settings lingering. I can tell 1.) because I still have random reboots 2.) There's settings like the lockscreen message and if I install Xposed my Icons change colors back to what I had them previously...
I'm trying to find a way to go back to complete stock and start from scratch so I'm not haunted by these little bugs anymore, any ideas?
what's done with xposed cannot be usuall undone without reflashing stock rom again!
this is why i have stopped playing around with xposed !

IF you have stock rom .305 (latest) then by using Flashtool, perform CLEAN install (make backup of your data)
Just curious, will this relock my bootloader?
I tried it anyways, don't have time to try and flash another ROM - I still have the same background I had prior. Not a good start so far.
