Hello guys, looks like I am the first one, who has a hard brick... My Problem:
I wanted to root my oneplus 3, so I unlocked it. After unlocking, I flashed TWRP, rooted it, and wipes cache and dalvik. The last step I did, was trying to lock the bootloader again. I typed
Code:
sudo fastboot oem lock
It finished after 0.020 s an my phone tried to reboot. It tried for about three times and is now doing nearly nothing. The LED is white. I tried to boot my phone with holding power, holding power + volume up, holding power + volume down, holding power+ volume up + volume down. Nothing helped. It does not want to do anything. Has someone an idea, if I can safe it? And if not, is it a case of warranty?? Please help me..

Hello everybody,
I hope somebody can help me, I just flashed TWRP and CMB on my 8.3
But i forgot to wipe data before. Now the boot animation still stays.
Can somebody tell me how to get into TWRP, I tried everything. Power + Vol + - ....
Is it a good idea to recover it with the LG tool?
Thanks,
Beagle
First of all you need the 2.6.3.1 version of twrp as the previous one cant enter recovery with a key combo. Then try this:
- With Device Powered Off And Unplugged
- Press and hold Power Button + Volume Down
- When the LG logo shows up, release the power button only
- Now press and hold the Power and Volume Up button while keeping your hold on the Volume Down button
- When the factory reset screen appears, release your hold on all buttons
- Follow On Screen Indications

although it will say to perform a factory reset it will enter recovery mode

I just tried it myself, and he's got it basically right.
When you first see the LG logo after holding Vol Down + Power, let go of both buttons, then immediately hit and hold Vol Down + Vol Up + Power. It should register.

Well if those didn't solve your problem what I did was let my M8 run out of battery and then plugged it into my computer holding power+volume down and that allowed me to get into the bootloader and then into fastboot. I then erased the cache and entered recovery where I had a backup ready.
I'm experiencing the same problem, and still working on solving it. But for those who are stuck in the boot screen and need to shut off their phone so that they can boot up into recovery (power + vol down), hold down BOTH volume buttons and the power button and the phone will shut off in a few seconds. I couldn't find this anywhere and was getting annoyed waiting for the juice to run out so I tried a few things and this worked.
edit: turns out it's just volume UP and power to 'battery pull' the phone, not both, although that will work because you're pushing on up

You can also try this if you're not willing to wait for the battery to drain. I also ran into that very same problem, being stuck on the htc splash screen.. However this is how I fixed it. Like one of the posters above i too held the volume button up while at the same time holding down the power button. My HTC One M8 would just reboot back to the splash screen. So, i went through all of the steps above again but this time as the screen went off still holding the power button down. I immediately slid my finger from volume up to down. I continued holding it in the volume down position until the boot loader come up. I selected recovery from there and did a cache wipe and restored a NAND backup. I hope this helps someone.
Found a pretty easy fix
It's a somewhat common problem as I can tell,w hen the device stops on the splash screen (where it says "POWERED by Android") ,, and it has a pretty easy fix, which does not require drain the battery or erase the cache from ADB and so on ! What you do is, you hold down Volume UP + Power Button and keep it pressed till the device will re-restart itself and will boot in to the system (unless you completely f-ed up your system).
Good luck
I have found a way

Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Power button until you see a black screen. As soon as you see it press the Volume Down key and the Power button at the same time. This should get you to your bootloader.

When i have reboot my tablet after entered this command " dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/dev/block/pci/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/by-name/system (/pci/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0 ", my tablet does'nt boot and stuck at powered by android. I can have adb and fastboot command but i don't know how i can restore my tablet. Anyone can help me ?
Sorry for my bad english and thanks you
If you have ADB access, you can run:
adb reboot recovery
After that you could reinstall using ADB sideload and this file : http://ota-service.oss.fc811.com/upl...&sn=L123456789
My N1 won't give me adb access, so I'm in a worse state than you

Thanks for mentioning. I have tried with volume down + power hundreds of times and my device refuses to go into bootloader. =/
I'm sure I could unbrick the same way you were able to, if i could just get into bootloader one time!

I had some trouble booting straight to the bootloader as well.
I don't know if this helps but anyway: After you power off the device, press and hold the power and vol- buttons. When you see the "Powered by Android" logo, let go of the power button but keep holding the vol- button. The tablet should boot into bootloader mode. I initially made the mistake of holding both buttons the whole time.

Thanks for the tip, i will try that. When I last tried, if I held any button at all, the tablet would never show the "powered by android" screen. It would only show it right after i released all buttons.
Hi,
I have a bootloop issue (I was using LOS official and it crashed when I answered a call) and when I try booting in recovery mode it just starts normally.
I do the Power + Vol down until I see the LG logo then release both for a short time and hold them again but it starts the LOS bootanimation..
What I am doing wrong ?

The G4 has a really stupid way of entering the recovery. I couldn't get in for a while too. Try again making sure you are actually pressing the buttons together at the same time. That means having just one click. They have to be clicked down at the exact same time.
Also, the instructions you've seen (first Google result) may not be the best. This is what I do WITH a custom recovery (TWRP).
1. Power off completely
2. Holding power and volume down at the exact same time until the lg logo appears.
3. Continue holding the volume down button but release the power button for a second.
4. Press and hold power and volume down again.
5. When asked if you want to wipe the device, select yes. This won't wipe the device but will take you to TWRP (if you installed it). Otherwise, it wipes the device.

Same Issue here, I was on Genisys opened whatsapp cuause I had a new message and phone rebooted.
after that it just stay on LG logo.
I followed your steps and got to the option of factory reset but after I hit ok with the power button phone just reboots back to the LG logo.
I think mine is the genuine bootloop issue.

If you don't remember doing anything that might have caused this, then it may be the LG G4 bootloop bug.
I'd put the phone in a zip lock back, in the freezer overnight and then back up all my data as quickly as possible. You're phone may be dead.

I'm sure I've bricked it while flashing LOS (regular dirty flash of new weekly like i do nearly every week), this time just went something wrong...
As far as I can tell from some YT videos my reboot pattern is different from regular G4 bootloop
Thx for your replies, I managed to revive my phone after whole day of tinkering. Had to overcome some issues so I've posted the solution: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73539738&postcount=1

Hmm, wait, ok. I did it finally, you just need to press them simultaneously and then when LG logo appears just release the power button for literally 1 second and then press and continue to hold both of buttons. That's it.

Hello
I power off my phone every night.
Since a few days, sometimes I can't reboot it with the simple power button, I have to use the fastboot combo (power - vol dwn) and press start to reboot.
Then the phone just act as usual...
What can be the point?
Thanks in advance.

Is your bootloader unlocked, rooted? If so, fastboot flash a full factory image removing the -w switch from flash-all.bat. If that doesn't fix it (or your bootloader is locked), the next step would be to reset the phone to factory from Recovery (FDR).
I suspect a wonky bootloader too.
Are you using TWRP? Maybe it did not install correct to both slots.

I too have noticed this. If I turn off the phone through the power button and then press it to restart, nothing happens. I also have to do the combo to restart and it takes a few seconds. It's frustrating. I'm on December stock rooted with Elemental Kernel.

I have noticed a couple of times (after doing a full power down) that I will have to hold the power button in for about 8 seconds to get it to boot. That is definitely longer than the normal couple of seconds that it takes after a hard power down. I honest do not know how frequently it actually happens since ~99% of the time I use reboot instead of power down/power up. I only fully power it down if I am going to remove it from the case to clean it. I too am on December stock, rooted (Magisk 18 installed using TWRP .img only) and Elemental kernel via the Elemental app auto-installer.
Just wondering if you have held the power for a while as opposed to vol down/power combo.
I have experienced this many times. When I perform a "restart", it just goes to a black screen. Disappointed in this phone.

Because you are stock and locked your choices are limited. I would do a factory data reset from recovery mode. If that did not fix the problem immediately I would be on the phone with Google getting a replacement. That or unlock the bootloader now which would also reset the device. The idea is to rule out a hardware defect while your phone is still new.
